Marijan Barać I don't know why you assume I do not understand your point. It's not exactly rocket science. In fact I consider certain parts of it a cliche attitude that suffers from some typical shortcomings. That is why I question why the playing level of a listener should be relevant to his evaluation of what he heard. The assumption that a bad review must necessarily be motivated by jealousy is shallow. Sure such persons exist. But critique is a natural part of any art process - from the artist themselves, from peers, from the craft/academic community, from cultural reviewers and from the audience. Yngwie is a professional and most likely harshly critical himself. This is how things evolve and get refined. And it's a tough, and ultimately product-oriented environment to be working in. The attitude that people with something critical to say should just shut up or go somewhere else is regressive and overly sensitive. The assumption that it's all about jealousy and everyone needs to be a top player to have an opinion and voice it is a cliche in and of itself. And there is ALWAYS some guy ready to repeat it in the name of his own emotions.

Absolutely kick-ass, despite his sloppiness in this vid (mind you, his live concerts in 2013 are cleaner). It's kinda sad when you see such a monster get humbled by age, though. I nearly cried when I saw Glenn Tipton struggle with Painkiller in 2012.
I bet some people who placed not so good comments here can't even play half of this song themselves. He's a virtuoso, not a tab reader for God's sake so don't expect him to play the same exact notes as the studio version of the song, he's one of the greatest guitarists of all time. I can play the song from start to end, but I am nowhere near Yngwie's level. You can't deny his accomplishment and legacy. And I think people just misunderstood his humor as "arrogance and ego". Just saying my thoughts.

I agree with that. There are a lot of guitarists out there who overdo the improvising because it is an easy option. In an interview some years ago, Yngwie admitted to sometimes playing on "auto-pilot". In other words, not really thinking about what to play next, or making sure that it complimented the chord changes, but just playing things that he has played so many times before, that it comes as naturally as breathing.
If you watch the interview at the end seems like Yngwie is actually sick, maybe hungover lol. But I think Yngwie is at the 'John Fahey' stage of life, where he has done so much on his instrument, that he is no longer caring about certain things and reaching into weird corners with his playing. Although, his live playing has always incorporated improvisation and lots of looseness/drunkness/whatever. 20 yrs from now, kids will be looking at Yngwie videos and saying, "Wow, that guy was playing this stuff in the 80's??"

he toys with this song any way he chooses now, hes only played it live like 20,000 times.., hes a fucking monster, a beast, so brilliant that anybody that thinks hes lost his touch is ignorant and a fucking hater... What he does fucking around for fun nobody watching this video can do at their best
Completely agree. He is a fucking metal monster.
Well said... Cheers!
SWINGIN FROM THOSE BALLS!
Exactly. This song is a masterpiece, and replicating it exactly note per note is challenging. There’s so much going on there
My favorito guitarrista player f alll time
People have the audacity to tell Yngwie Malmsteen is sloppy on the internet. It's amazing how the internet somehow empowers them . Would you have it in you to go say that to his face if you meet him? Fuckk NO ...because even you know, in his presence you'd be thinking although sloppy now, this guy is a master and has his own wild stallion flair. What happens to all of you guys on the internet?
PS: Wild Stallion because i cant get over that wild horse neighing sound at 1:18. Sick !!
I find it amazing that he improvise and almost never play far beyond the sun the same way.
Still awsome....after all these years I've still the same fun to look and to listen to him !...TV Girls are crazy !...I thinck Yngwie could spend the rest of the day with both !!! ....But Yngwie is a great shy guy !!!....Great Yngwie...fantastic still You...!!!!
"Are you exhausted?"
"Oh, um, not from this."
😄😄😄😄😄
Yngie deserves more. This is a beautiful melody
REally!
I love how the video category is 'Comedy'
lol
+ZF Music gimme views brotha ! >.
+ZF Music I was aiming for "people will mark number of categories just to get views.. Im not accusing anybody right now, just joking even tho it could be the case :)
+ZF Music HAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA
hahaha so this is comedy :D
lmao
perfect!!! the best guitar player and composer ever!no one and i reapet no one can play like this and for so long, he's a beast!
Great performer and player. The King of Kings. Love him.
Guitar shredding yngwie j malmteen
No.
Absolutely awesome, long live Yngwie. He puts on the best concert and show I've ever been to. But I'm slightly biased as I live for the technical solos
Got to respect Yngwie, still came on a live morning show and shredded his ass off, not his best performance but still 1000x better than your average hater. No play back real raw playing.
MORE IS MORE
Not at his best, but atleast it isn't playback, yngwie is still amazing, despite this performance
Dany Gomes Exactly... the reality is Yngwie still plays and composes at a high level. He's still a beast!
@@SkyAvila777 the drums obviously are back track, many guitar players play their songs with programmed drums. The guitar playing is not definitely playback
@@SkyAvila777 no one was talking about the drums
Yngwie is a genius musician.
This might not be his best sounding performance but it's still awesome. The main solo from 2:51 to 3:57 is wicked.
People have to also keep in mind... there is no keyboardist here so Yngwie is playing both parts. That's why the solos are longer than usual. He's basically dueling himself, that's why there's so much improvisation.
I don't care what anyone says he's still fun to watch after all these years. In my opinion Yngwie will always be the boss of bosses.
He makes it look so easy
Reporter: "Aren't you exhausted after this?"
Yngwie: "Not from this."
LOL
So happy to see Yngwie in HD !!
Dude.... I'm speechless.
bro he dressed so cool
Every time someone criticizes Malmsteen I immediately go to their page and find out exactly why what they said was moot. He gets kudos merely for shredding with that much bling on lol (Two handed bow).
right? im surprised he can still keep his head up with all that hardware...lol
cCmon guys he is always a legend...he does not play bad....youll know he is unbeatable when you realize that his playing in this video was completely effortless....still he played like a boss despite some mistakes
To all the haters hating on Yngwie, I say this. Yngwie is one of the three most influential guitar players of all time, along with EVH and Hendrix. Those three guys pretty much DEFINED modern rock guitar playing. Distortion, wah wah, dive bombs, pinch harmonics, tapping, sweep picking etc. etc. etc. Their contribution is without parallel.
I love that timbre! I'll buy one fender like that very soon!
I just love that he does all of this with a strat and single coils. Awesome.
Less is more my fellow
Choctaw Coffee pot Wrong! More is always more!!! 😂😂😃
(shhh they ARE stacked humbuckers, dimarzio hs2 and hs3 in this video)
It is amazing how yngwie can out do him self by playing with the time , and play riffs in between the riffs he originally composed
He hasn't lost his touch at all. This clip was shot about 12 days after I saw him at the Arcada Theatre in Illinois and he destroyed the place! His energy level and virtuosity would make anyone exhausted if they did 25 two and a half hour shows in 30 days. Seen him four times and never been disappointed! Also be sure to check out the guy that opened for him, Ethan Brosh. That kid can melt faces!
And his sister too! Check Nili Brosh :)
Try a real job. That's exhausting. 2.5 hours pff
Yngwie Is One Of The Most Phenominall Guitarists Of All Time And One Of My Personal Guitar Idols. Wish To Be Able To Half As Good As This True Guitar God!!!!!!
I agree..malmsteen has nothing to prove..he's still the best..love u bro
Adlibbin' still unbelievable
Pero solo un Yngwie Malmsteen! El tipo es un genio, no hay más que decir
№1 for me is my favorite!
Yngwie the best guitarist in the world
ok, this is not his top most performance..but still far better than many of you could ever do....yngwie is one of those musicians you either love or hate(or you admire or not to be precise) there is no in between....i do love his neoclassical style im in love with white stratocasters i do love his smooth tone...however i do say that he is a one trick pony..but that being said, the trick is good and man got his own style and i dig that..not a ripoff of anyone...and most people bashing him are just jealous really, trying to compensate their ability, because they cant shredd like that so they are pointing out how there are far better players who play three chords...i do partially agree because speed and technique determins nothing really..and there are many ways to be great...but in his own thing in neoclassical shred in what he does he is great and has feeling to it...respect him for what he does cause he put effort into it..if you dont like it a bit..why bother watching his videos?
Why would "what anybody else could do" be relevant to anything ...
whynottalklikeapirat
it most certainly is, and if you didnt get my point as a whole, explaining this little detail would change nothing at all
Marijan Barać I don't know why you assume I do not understand your point.
And there is ALWAYS some guy ready to repeat it in the name of his own emotions.
whynottalklikeapirat
i agree but i named that as one of reasons for people bashing such playing style..because i know people like that
whynottalklikeapirat
and im not even yngwie fan lol i just stated that i appreciate everything someone does...there are things i dont like but im not bothered to go there and express my dislike, thats also just opinion but i tend to, when not asked, speak only about things i am positive about..if someone asks me do you like this, and i dont, i will say i dont and explain why...but dont find it important to say if noone ask
Love him in the early 80's
People can say what they want... but despite the flaws of this performance it still kicks ass!
Absolutely kick-ass, despite his sloppiness in this vid (mind you, his live concerts in 2013 are cleaner). It's kinda sad when you see such a monster get humbled by age, though. I nearly cried when I saw Glenn Tipton struggle with Painkiller in 2012.
@@Archer25001003775 dude he played 5 times better than this last year hes a drinker age has nothing to do with it
I wish my clean playing was as good as his sloppy playing.
Yngwie is so awesome.
For a second, i almost grabbed my whip and ran through a castle hitting candles and looking for dracula
Malmsteen is great. I enjoy to listen him. ty. Lol
People that complain about him being inaccurate probably couldn't improvise to save their lives lol
Encore! 👍🙌👏
One of the all time greats.
I never saw a fender with action that high! Wow.
A true tour de force in guitar history. He plays better than ever. 👏 bravo. Viva Sweden
The action has to be set a bit higher due to the scalloped fretboards on his Strats
I can picture bane. "Success has defeated you."
Still better than 99% of other players
But yes, he didn't exactly age like fine wine
Mi vida después de conocer este genio ??? Simplemente conosi la sensación de disfrute de la buena música
this is what really good cocaine and practice can do .... hats off to the man of classical shred
Im practicing spinning the guitar around my back without slamming it into the side of my head...
Coke? Lol the dude is a child prodigy, I doubt coke had anything to do with it
@@Pray-4-Me i slammed one into the ground doing that, strap screw came out
@@chazbono5991 Malmstein has been KNOWN for his coke habit for 20 plus years. AS SOOO many others from Clapton to Tommy Emanuel. it is the drug that keeps the show going when it seemed impossible. Keeps you playin for 12 hours a day.
I agree with that. There are a lot of guitarists out there who overdo the improvising because it is an easy option. In an interview some years ago, Yngwie admitted to sometimes playing on "auto-pilot". In other words, not really thinking about what to play next, or making sure that it complimented the chord changes, but just playing things that he has played so many times before, that it comes as naturally as breathing.
when you're actually a god but people think that you're just a regular human who only dedicated your life to learn and practice really hard. xD
Lucas Fernandez other way around
Да, вот это гитарист, я его слушал примерно 25 лет назад, и сейчас слушаю с великим удовольствием.
Try 70s
The most fuckin amazing guitarist that i ever watch. 🤘👍
I wish i could have someone to guide me to learnt that.
IF I CAN'T HAVE THIS PLAYING IN MY COFFIN . DYING'S NOT WORTH IT
My respect to that lord of the guitar.
