  • "On the Range" is a tutorial series covering all aspects of military flight simulation.
    This edition covers CCIP bombing using Mk-82 general purpose bombs in the A-10A Warthog. It is flown in the A-10A that is included as part of the Flaming Cliffs module to DCS: World.

    no matter what I do, I cannot get that vertical line to come up, the pipper is always at the top of the HUD, and no aircraft can bomb properly

    Hi, at 2:30 into the video you mention the ridicule is below the HUD, and that you 'bring the ridicule up into the HUD' (to make the predictor line turn solid). How do you 'bring the ridicule up into the HUD' ? Is it a command you issue or do you have to dive more steeply to do it?

      It looked as though he either changed his pilot’s view in the cockpit or he pointed the noise down.

    Great stuff! glad to see someone still doing new DCS videos I just discovered DCS so late to the party, but loving the sim. I prefer the A10C but these are useful, still a lot to learn kinda just messing around until my Hotas I ordered comes in then will get serious. Cheers!

    20:22 bringing the reticle up into the HUD, did you have to hit any key for this? It just looked like you zoomed out a bit then it popped up as a solid line and the circle pipper.

    Super helpful videos! One question, what's the purpose of rolling in on the target? Is that just style, or does it server a real purpose?

    What is the difference between the A-10 "A" model to the "C" one ?

    • @WeslarWaven
      @WeslarWaven 6 лет назад +2

      kuoxy the C model is a high fidelity simulation, the A is a simplified version

    Wish I could map all the controls to my Thrustmaster Warthog to the A-10A. Particularly the switches on the throttle.

      +Dereck Dunn Why don't you just play the A-10C module? I have a Thrustmaster Warthog and all of the buttons were automatically mapped to the A-10C cockpit except for the trim hat. Plus, The fully interactive cockpit of the A-10C module is more fun and I find it a lot easier to fly.

      befru Just bought it today. Got some studying to do.

      Dereck Dunn The best way to learn it is to just focus on 1 system at a time and you will eventually learn everything. It took me a good 20 hours of playing to memorize all of the systems and get to a intermediate skill level. I learned the plane by replaying the tutorial missions until everything became muscle memory.

      I've already got the jist of it as far as basics and utilizing weapons. Learning all the technicalities of the CDU is another thing all together. Creating/modifying waypoints, etc.
