Just FYI - I don't believe his fans would be so disrespectful of Dimash to throw anything on the stage. They do bring him flowers and gifts, but either hand them directly to him or place them on the edge of the stage.
He did this song(autumn strong) in Chinese for the first time on the singer(2017), and it was absolutely gorgeous! He said in pre-performance that he was so worried about his accent and whether the message of the song would get through, but watching it and the audience response, the answer is obvious 😊❤
Yes guys, Dimash does play his voice like an instrument. He plays with the edges of what is possible for the voice. The reason vocal coaches are so impressed with the breathiness in the beginning for instance is that its almost impossible to have control at the edges of the voice like this. Think of a volume control dial and just cranking from nothing to audible to a bit more, etc. No one else can do these things. He's like an athlete breaking his own records, and no one else can even compete. Also as you noticed his behavior with the mic- he studies this. With such a sensitive mic, no one else would try without a filter on the mic, but Dimash is using his movements in and out and around the mic as a filter.
I agree. Sometimes he's a violin, sometimes a flute, sometimes an electric guitar. He does use vocal fry in small amounts, but he knows how to protect his voice. "Love Is Like a Dream" is one of the songs where he uses it and a more extreme example that he frequently starts with like it's a Dimash motto: "Ascolta la voce" = listen to the voice.

If you want to hear him doing only vocalization, just check for Dimash "vocalization". He doesn't use more than a few almost distinguishable words, but his riffs are amazing! And it's live.

He said in pre-performance that he was so worried about his accent and whether the message of the song would get through, but watching it and the audience response, the answer is obvious 😊❤

Yes guys, Dimash does play his voice like an instrument. He plays with the edges of what is possible for the voice. The reason vocal coaches are so impressed with the breathiness in the beginning for instance is that its almost impossible to have control at the edges of the voice like this. Think of a volume control dial and just cranking from nothing to audible to a bit more, etc. No one else can do these things. He's like an athlete breaking his own records, and no one else can even compete. Also as you noticed his behavior with the mic- he studies this. With such a sensitive mic, no one else would try without a filter on the mic, but Dimash is using his movements in and out and around the mic as a filter.
I agree. Sometimes he's a violin, sometimes a flute, sometimes an electric guitar. He does use vocal fry in small amounts, but he knows how to protect his voice. "Love Is Like a Dream" is one of the songs where he uses it and a more extreme example that he frequently starts with like it's a Dimash motto: "Ascolta la voce" = listen to the voice.
He does vocal fry in The Story of One Sky, and Dimash knows how to do these techniques properly.

That version is called, Autumn Strong. This was his second year performing in his studio for the Tokyo Jazz Festival. YES, he does remind you of the opera ladies singing on stage in the cartoons....lol. Just waaaayyyyy better. Looking forward to next Monday!

If you want to hear him doing only vocalization, just check for Dimash "vocalization". He doesn't use more than a few almost distinguishable words, but his riffs are amazing! And it's live.
