PSA: Now the Servant Ruling, does go against past precedents, so I highly recommend asking the Head Judge of your event. The ruling may vary region to region!
Lol this reminds me of that quirk with the Yosengu's return to hand and Card of demise's discard End phase effects. Even though both the effects are manditory, you can still choose the order you resolve them. So you can chose to resolve Card of demise's send you hand to GY effect (even if you had no cards in hand at the time anyway) before you add the Yosengu's back to your hand followed by your opponent being salty
These rulings are fantastic man, very much appreciated. And for the borreload ruling, "it" actually does make sense (attempt to be punny). Since borreload states "it", referring to the monster on board it took control of, once it is removed and forgets, that monster is no longer "it" so the lingering effect (if that's how we would categorize it) no longer effects that monster. The mine ruling, I played alot with metaphys so I understand using phases besides a main phase to my advantage, but greatly appreciate the reminder/newer card info. Keep up the good work bro!
Now don't be too excited... EU will not follow that ruling, nor will Australia, OCG and ask ur head judge!! Only TCG NA may follow that... And it may even get refuted in an article. It's just tcg us may be obligated to follow that email.
Question similar to Borreload: BA player kaijus opponents boss monster. BA player proceeds to Farfa the kaiju. Where does the kaiju go at the end of the turn when it is returned. Also the same scenario for Ra Sphere mode too
And not really a fix, they made an exception on an already established ruling wich we will only wonder if that rule gets changed as a whole or this exception gets reverted in the future
Mystic mine is a trigger effect not optional. As soon as the same number of monsters is met it destroys itself. You can’t arrange it so it stays because triggers happen when it’s met.
That I argue u can arrange all the effects. End phase and stand by phase effects can be arranged regardless if something is mandatory or not. Mandatory only means you cannot advance the phase forward until it is complete in that phase. You can read the article here. ygorganization.com/how-to-handle-the-standby-phase-end-phase-and-end-step-of-the-battle-phase/amp/
What happens when I have Herald of the Arc Light on board and try to activate Glow-Up Bulb in the graveyard? I can't find this anywhere on the internet
so on the topic of mystic mine vs. rokkets you said of the turn player is the rokkets player they can make it to where they can choose the order of how to resolves the effects by making mystic mine activate it's mandatory effect of destroying itself if both players control the same number of monsters on the field. so Mine would destroy itself then they can chain their rokket effect and they'll have their rokket monster on the field and mine would be destroyed. my confusion comes in when it's the mine players turn, can the mine player make it to where their opponent has to activate their rokket monsters effect before mystic mines mandatory effect is triggered or is it the same weather it's the rokket players turn or the mine players turn.
For mystic mine, couldn't topologic trisbaenea remove it, cause it's effect is reactive?? the player doesn't get to choose if they want to activate Trisbaenea's effect or not when a monster is special summoned to it's link marker. Mystic mine says that the player can't activate monster effects, it says nothing that monster effects can't be activated, but since Trisbaenea has to use it's effect when the criteria is met, it should be able to remove the mystic mine.
Isn't the borreload ruling similar to when my opponents if my omega gets stolen say by mind control and uses omega's effect? I get it back when it comes back right?
Well it comes back and then gets returned... The difference between mind control vs Borreload is that Borreload doesn't say take control of the monster until the end phase... It says send it to the graveyard... But u don't send and return.
How's the interaction with Widow Anchor and Mystic Mine during the opponents turn? (assuming there's no other actions to be made). Can the opponent choose to get his monster back before activating the Mine effect? Or can I choose the order?
Problem with the 3rd scenario - monsters can't activate effect until mystic mine is popped anyway so it still has to go in that particular scenario if both players have the same amount of monsters
At the german national the problem with mystic was explained from one of the assisant head judges like this: If at any point in the end phase both players have the same amount of monsters then the mystic mine is destroyed. Even if during a chain both player have the same amount of monsters but it changes to the end of chain the mystic mine will still blow up itself because the conditions to do so were met. Thats how it worked here. But to be honest we shouldn't have to have this problem. Konami pls just ban mystic mine :(
Hello tombox, what’s the ruling of gozen match chained to knightmare mermaid? Does mermaid get to summon a monster and then they choose which attribute to control, or does its effect fizzle?
@MST.TV could you do a ruling for the end phase with yosenju vs mystic mine and card of demise example i play card of demise, summon 3 yosenju's but my opponent has mystic mine what happens
Mystic Mines SD only triggers as soon as there are no monsters on the field but the yosenjus shouldn't boznce back during the EP bc Mine prevents them from activating
What happens if you banish with farfa a monster your opponent took from you with crack down? Does the monster taken by crack down come back to the owner?
I am also curious about this. I think it would come down to if the monster has to stay in the zone he points to. Is that monster only "it", as borreload states, while it is in that zone, or while it is on the field period. The monster shouldnt forget because it doesnt go anywhere besides across the field, so in my opinion it would still be affected by borreload and return until the EP of the next turn when it is sent. This is totally my opinion though, dont take my word for it 🤣
End phase and standby phase trigger work like ignitions as Earl described it. Things can get done I whatever order u seem necessary. But u cannot advance the phase until all mandatory effects and lingering effects are finished.
few questions, not abt the video, but other rulings. 1: targeting, if a card says "target one on card on the field" or something similar . is this targeting or not, its says targeting but ive herd differently(like it says target but doesn't target, that kind of thing, i havent played in years but this has bugged me for sooo long) and its frustrating that the only card i know for a fact that isn't targeting is ignister and dark hole variants 2:placing a token/counters on cards, if a card has target immunity, can you still place tokens/counters on it, example cubic counters and side note with cubic counters, do they get around cards that say "unaffected by card effects", i think it doesn't but while am here. 3:something minor with continuous trap cards after been flip, humid winds as an example, can i still activate its effect on my opponents turn or only on flip on their turn or its like, i get to activate once on my turn than once his/her turn etc.
Dan Alloway Anytime a card said "target a card" or something of similar phrasing it is indeed a card that targets. Examples range from things like mystical space typhoon to monster reborn. Cards that don't target will simply say something like "send 1 card from the field to the graveyard" etc. An example of this would be time theif redoer, dingirsu, and gishki zielgigas
Hey tombox I have a question about light stage. Does the end phase effect force the player to activate their set card or do they have the option to not activate it ? I have seen players who do not activate their set fog blade and just send it to the graveyard
Question about borreload vrs borreload. If opp summons b.load and takes my thanos dragon and I summon b.load on my turn and take thanos back does it still die at the end phase of my turn or would it stay?

I’ve had to explain that card more times than I can count, because the way it’s worded is so confusing
What happens if you activate finite cards while infinite cards is on the field
The one that was activated last covers the previous one.
This Mystic Mine thing is basically what I've been saying previous video. You aren't forced to activate mystic mine until there is no other option.

yikes
It's doesn't matter, because You as a player cannot activate monster effects, but they will still be immune to whatever type u tributed.
