- This Ferrari is the END of an era! The 458 Speciale is the LAST of the naturally aspirated mid-engine V8 cars. Under the engine cover is a 4.5L V8 that produces 597HP at 9,000RPM & mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 458 Speciale's exterior is fine tuned for the track. On the inside you will find bare carbon fiber throughout, and a cabin perfectly setup for churning out the fastest lap times. Is the 2014 Ferrari 458 Speciale the ultimate modern Ferrari to buy!

Now that’s a car I like! I just have to work 3 jobs in order to afford one lol! The car sounds so sweet! Nobody can replicate a Ferrari exhaust system and the engine sound! That carbon fiber package is insane!

Sir, I was born in the year of the ox ("bull") according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar. The horse scares me a lot. I am a big fan of Ferdinand The Bull.... Mr. John "Lamborghini" Cena. Great review as always Joe. Loved the one on the F8 as well. Naturally aspirated V8's will be missed, but looks like Turbo and electric is the way things are going to be except for their front-engine V12's...for now that is. Next on your list should be the Laferrari :)

@@RaitisRides I used to own one of the last 164L sold in America in 1995. Never had one issue with reliability. Now on our 2nd Alfa Giulia 2.0. Wonderful car, so glad they finally returned to the US market, but sadly, for how long? The folks who love sport sedans should all be test driving these new Giulia's. I traded in our BMW 325i for this one. We had a 2017 for two year lease, turned it in. Then owned a BMW for only 6 months, until we 'had to' get another Giulia. Its that much better. Same steering as a Ferrari and with many Ferrari designed parts, such as a carbon fiber drive shaft and high performance differential. Raiti, you do a good job here, keep up the good reviews. I subbed you!

This car is a timeless masterpiece. The issue is trying to find high quality, high octane fuel in order to maximize engine performance. Can it run on 91 octane street gas?...I'm guessing only kinda/sorta.

The question is, where in the world do you drive it with any hope of maintaining the car's value. First stone chip and its all down hill from there. Even if you clear bra the entire car, the sheer cost to keep this car running plus the fear of what could happen to it on the road would keep me from ever driving it. This is art on wheels so I would find my self placing it in a CARCOON and just stare at it weekly knowing that it will be perfect forever. Now I would need a second Ferrari to drive the wheels off of and have fun with. I'm so truly lucky that I will never have to worry about such things, gotta go, another car just pulled up to the order window, at least I have an endless supply of Sausage McMuffins to help my day go by a little faster : )
I would say Speciale is a safe buy because it is wanted and the price is just going up!

This car is made for road racing but is usually purchased for car show bragging rights. In over 20 ye rs of Open tracking I have seen only a couple of Ferrari's on track. Great car for Millionaire racers and NFL and NBA players, not a car for real track day guys.
