Sooooo, after 6 months or so of watching a slew of videos I bought my first ever Subaru. It's an autumn green 2024 Forester Wilderness. Thanks for all your videos which helped my decision. I was concerned about two things, which you helped clear up. Yep the head gasket and CVT issue.
Found you on a random scroll for all those awesome "this tool is over priced get it from the original joint" clips a little while back. Very enjoyable to see you outside the tool videos doing what brought us to loving the tools. You cant beat the satisfaction of wrenching a car back to glory to enjoy again.
Great progress! Can’t wait for the next one!
Excellent work, it's coming together nicely! Can't wait to see it all painted.
Thanks for this video series. I wish you could give us a little information about the final outcome of these project cars, not specifically the dollars and cents, but more along the lines of did they sell, were they easy or not to sell, and did the buyers feel like they got a good deal, were you pleased with the outcome, etc. Mainly interested in how these sort of restored cars are received in the marketplace. This is the best and most comprehensive Subaru channel - you've helped me with my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek (rear wheel bearing replacement), and I will soon enough use your spark plug replacement and brake replacement videos to guide me in those jobs. And one more thing - Iridium vs. Ruthenium spark plugs?
He's alive, he's still alive!! that beauty
actually looks good without paint, imagine also putting black in the back without paint, looks cool
Bravo! One heck of a job 👍
Coming along nicely
The 2018+ wheels are a nice upgrade for sure
Thank you! Looking really good!
Nice work. Good thing you won't have to spend much on paint since Subaru doesn't paint half their bumpers and trims lately. I miss it when car manufacturers used to paint the whole vehicle, instead of cheaping out on paint. Cars on the road lately looks ghetto with trims, lips and mirrors not painted.
Nice going!!
Getting there coming along nice
Thanks Mr Subaru. Also, if you accept unsolicited video ideas, would love to see a CVT diagnosis video. You have individual videos for individual issues, but would love to see a video where it's "if your CVT is weird, try these things in this order to figure it out." Keep up the great work!
I’m definitely digging background music Robert!
Nice brother! Would love to see new videos on non OEM oil and oil filters for Subarus as these topics always get a lot of views and stir up the conversation!
He’s done many on this already
great Job Mr. Subaru, its coming along really nice 👍
Thanks 👍
Hell of a nice boat in the yard too. There’s never been a terrain Mr Subaru couldn’t traverse.
The little soo-bar-oooo comes together
That looks so nice
Nice job, looks great!
Thanks!
Wow! What a face lift! Looks amazing! Bet you're excited to drive it soon!
Can’t wait!
Looking very good.
You could honestly just drive around with the black bumper and still be pretty much legit. I see that all the time here with Subi Bros.
Nice!
Looking good.
Gonna be nice when its all done.
Hell yeah🚀🚀🚀
Lookin' great! And great deal on the tires/wheels! I paid more than that just for a set of all season tires (too cold around here to run the summers!) Really wanted to keep the summer set and then get some 18" wheels for the winter/all seasons (otherwise known as pothole season around here) but too darn expensive.
Subaru should be paying you instead of you buying parts, promoting this car company the way you do.Keep up the good work. Listening to you from Sherbrooke Quebec Canada.
I would keep it.
Did you happen to see the flying wheels? Video? Where he Sold at auction a twenty eighteen s t I in white for fourteen thousand miles at six speed. clean car fax
Looks cool & mean ;) Are you going to paint the bumper white, I kind of like the dark grey/black colour.
Japan couldn’t have fit that back together nicer
😎👌
nice gaps ❤
Oh yeah Robert, I would say under 1000 bucks that’s definitely a steel for those STI rims. I can’t remember if those are made by BBS. Or Enkei…. I sure wish I could run those on the Legacy but I think I’m 5 x 100. And just like you, I don’t like running any type of spacer if I don’t have to.
Hey Mr Subaru, can you recommend a hack to increase the backup screen size on a 2014 Forester? Maybe some kind of plug in bigger screen? It would be much appreciated. Thank you, love your show . Little old lady. 👍
Where did you buy those fog light bezels? They look awesome
Great stuff! Can't remember if you said in any of the videos in this series if you plan to keep this one or if you'll be flipping it.
Will enjoy it a while, then sell it.
@@MrSubaru1387 Nice. Have fun with it. I'll for sure be watching all the content.
Just found your channel and plan to watch all your stuff on the new BRZ. Question - mine came with the oil level slightly above the full mark on the dipstick. I took it back, asked them to check, they said it would be fine. Since you are a pro with these engines, should I worry or will it be okay?
I'm surprised you didn't stick them bolts back in the holes after removing parts so there's no guessing where they go when it's time to install new parts.
😎
So the 2018+ 19in wheels will fit with the 6 piston break calipers? I have a set for my 06 and was wondering what oem wheel options i had to choose from for the larger calipers
Do you have any videos regarding the electric power steering rack on a VA chassis WRX? I'm not having much luck looking anywhere. I've replaced wheel bearings strut mounts and checked ball joints, bushings, etc. They're fine. My car is clunking and I cannot pinpoint it. I need someone to help me and shake the car while i look/listen but the car is drifting bad while cruising. Getting concerned 😂😂😂 I feel like something may be up with the rack at this point. Random left and right "sways" with the occasional clunk on bumps.
Looking good
My friend
I have a quick tool question does Astro make matco impact extensions sockets I am looking at the Astro .78354 set
Hey man, I think we live fairly close. Was wondering if you would possibly do a rebuild on my 2013 forester. It started with heavy oil consumption and now heavily misfires. Lmk if you would want the job
Wouldn't it be easier to install the radiator and condenser before the front bumper cover ?
What are those universal drivers
Hey bud trying to reach out to ya I know ur busy my boss wanted me to msg u we run a shop in nc and he buys and sells cars he bought a 13 cross trac we got p0700 and p0716 when in gear it rolls in neutral fine but as soon as put in gear can’t tell if it’s in final drive or trans but it rolls then locks and then rolls a lil and locks up again I’ve used rabbit ears to try to hear and locate noise but it’s carrying thru out any idea
Where’d you buy the front bumper cover from

@@MrSubaru1387Thank you
What color are you going to paint it ?
Carbon fiber
@@timothyvu7006 Im sorry i really meant the car. Carbon fiber is a cool nose piece
@alanlangley7246 just joking.. it's obvious he's gonna paint the bumper white.
K1X Crystal White Metallic.
$14k, 56k miles
I don't understand how this is a cheap project? Pretty sure you'd be better off buying a used (RUNNING) STi off craigslist.
I have the 1/4 impact with the ring on the anvil and none of my craftsman extensions stay on for crap. You're using snap on extensions? Ever have issues with the extension sliding to the ring constantly? Seems like that tool works perfect for you! I hope you keep this sti and have fun with it!
amzn.to/3OgEVAb probably need a new clip on the impact anvil.
@@MrSubaru1387 it's brand new 😫
@@MonkellD extensions worn on the square drive end?
@MrSubaru1387 not really! It's frustrating, it makes me want to just use my air ratchet. I'm going to see if the snap on extensions fall off
