Also thank you to all the fans who support me. You motivate me to keep making epic freestyles. P.S. Takeshi deserved this title just as much as I did.
Man this takes me back. I remember when I stopped yoyoing for a while this guy was the last person I had watched. It's been a year now. It's really amazing to see how far he has gotten. I'm now motivated more than ever to try and get to speed with all the professionals
The Brandon Vu lmao no that’s just a trick I made up in February this year, it’s a no-risk triangle suicide. It’s not an actual green triangle, it’s a different mount that looks exactly like a green triangle suicide but if you miss it doesn’t knot.
Just saw this on Reddit and it's very impressive! Some of those moves are lightning fast! Also, you were very cool under pressure. The tangle seems like no big deal. Great showmanship!
Took me back to the late 70's/early 80's when me and my older Brother were learning to YoYo. Same music playing too (HaHa)... YoYo, Rubik,Chess,Ping Pong (and even Hula-Hoop) were all the craze !!! Not only Insanely fun (and so hard at first to learn) But Incredibly fun to watch !!! Gotta pretty cool bit for you if you're interested. It would take alot of work, but you're no stranger to that.....
One thing I realised is that whenever US gets the world title, it's always the japanese that gets 2nd and 3rd, and this is evident as seen in worlds 2014,2015 and 2018
Joseph Lee, there used to be an evaluation called “rareness” which addressed this exact topic. But it was removed because it was too objective and hard to score accurately. And Ham Dog, clicking is only meant to reflect difficulty, not originality. So if a judge is clicking based on originality, he is doing it wrong.
Connor Seals I think originality is built into difficulty. I think if a judge sees an original concept, it may be perceived as difficult due to it being an unknown trick and something never seen before. So I agree with you, but I do think that originality is implicitly built into the clicking process.
I did this same exact routine in my bedroom once on my 3rd day of a methamphetamine binge. Then I couldn't find my yo-yo because I've never owned one. Thing that make you go hum.
This is super cool. Could we possibly run this video on Metro.co.uk and its social media channels? With credit and links back to Evan and the competition? This is mesmerising - thanks!

Flawless. Well done Evan!
Not quite but good enough haha.
I'm a huge fan. The wEDGE and EDGE are my favourites. Most of my tricks are inspired by you.
Evan Nagao This is the best comment anywhere on the internet, period.

I believed that you would win Nationals and you did! I was really hoping you win the world and you did it again! CONGRATS MAN!
All around youtube yoyo videos I always see him commenting on them and probably learning from them. He definitely deserved this years worlds title
Man this takes me back. I remember when I stopped yoyoing for a while this guy was the last person I had watched. It's been a year now. It's really amazing to see how far he has gotten. I'm now motivated more than ever to try and get to speed with all the professionals
same, i will always remember him as the dude who rolled on the floor at the U.S. nationals
The 4y old boy on Jay Leno too
This routine made me smile the entire time I watched it. Truly a great performance and a great routine. Congrats.

"I wanna be a Yo Yo Man!" he cried, "Make me a Yo Yo Man!"
But the Yo Yo Master did not answer. He just kept on Yoing.
He said "Iloveyoutoo" tho?😂
Yo do me yoyo master, I want you to do it because your the yoyo guy
Idk why but watching this video makes me feel glad. Its just good for him, his passion can be felt trough the video.
Never has a yo-yo performance almost bring tears to my eyes.. Until now. Well deserved #inspirstional
For the next 15 years WYYC will need to have drug test...
What why
Rumor has it, there is a footlong sandwich and a full head of lettuce in his stomach
Anthony Throws *BURGER KING FOOT LETTUCE*
This gave me motivation to start yoyoing again
This is by far the best song with the best gitar solo, great music choise.
I've never watched a yo yo video before. But watching his happiness at the end made me completely get it.
Watching the whole thing at 0.25 speed is the correct way.
Bruh... 2:49 , if that aint divine intervention idk what is.
You mean the Fact he snapped his fingers and the Knot dissappeared Nagao is God
The Brandon Vu lmao no that’s just a trick I made up in February this year, it’s a no-risk triangle suicide. It’s not an actual green triangle, it’s a different mount that looks exactly like a green triangle suicide but if you miss it doesn’t knot.
Owen Ekblad Fake GT suicide?
Luke Franse yes sir! The idea is to fake the judges into thinking it’s a real triangle, when in reality there’s absolutely no risk involved.
Owen Ekblad exposed
Thank you, Phil, for showing me that yoyo is still cool in 2018!
I was there at Worlds. I was in the audience and saw this awesome freestyle
Nice job Evan!
The riskiest freestyle I’ve ever seen.
I've never been so amazed by a cylinder on a string before, you keep doing you man, keep doing you!
Was sent here by Philip DeFranco! Thumbs up if you're a beautiful bastard too!
Most humble guy in the community, so happy for you Evan :)
Crowd is unbelievably hype. Well deserved!
Way to go kid. Your enthusiam is inspirational.
He is 45 years old.
@@HellenicBM bruh wtf lmao
Ya Evan your the man i can not believe it you win the world yo yo contest , you are favorite yo yo players i got to say you did Evan good job
When i heard the song freebird i knew i was in for some speed
I wasn't expecting to hear free bird here
It's so smoothing watching him doing it so effortlessly
Thank you Phil, you made us see the truth with Yoyos that are free as birds. You can't change this PhillyD!
SO COOOOOOOL
You looked so happy and proud of yourself at the end! Gave me goosebumps!!
When the main character started his freestyle
DAMN. Never thought a yoyo coukld make me cry!
This is the most enthusiastic crowd I've ever heard.
Just saw this on Reddit and it's very impressive! Some of those moves are lightning fast! Also, you were very cool under pressure. The tangle seems like no big deal. Great showmanship!

Another viral video in the process
How is this not an Olympic sport yet?!?!
One thing I realised is that whenever US gets the world title, it's always the japanese that gets 2nd and 3rd, and this is evident as seen in worlds 2014,2015 and 2018
evans tricks are crazy
Man that's a hard song to do a routine to! Mad respect! One day I'll be there with you I just know it!
Thanks Phil
anyone else sad that the audio is gone?
ye
Oh my god Such a good routine
Not related to this video in particular, but I feel like there should definitely be a judging category for Trick Originality
Tricks should be judged in a vacuum at regular contests. At events like 44clash that's okay.
There isn't in evals, but some judges if they see really original tricks they will give them extra clicks.

Evan I always thought u were the GOAT man!
Deserved. Dudes been throwing for so long. Congrats dawgie.
Although this brought him his world champ title, I still think his 2018 US performance tad better. It feels like he was going all out on that one
He was also going all out on this one, he was just sick.
Thank you Phily D for this. Your secret links rarely disappoints
Perfect song choice, it’s like a rock concert!
Gloves keep your fingers from getting burns etc?
Andrew Tolmasoff yep.
world champion 2018 evan! yyf! just announced
A true master of the Yoyo
amazing vid worth the watch, and a classic song in the bg.
0:30
Evan is the Keanu Reeves of the yoyo community
Well both are Hawaiians
And I thought being able to do 'walk the dog' was impressive...
Thanks, Philip DeFranco!
thank you phil. i didn't know it got this crazy
I was here before this video had millions of views.
I can't even get the yoyo to come back up.
Funny thing is that there is no Hawaii in BG map(where the logo and sponsors are shown) but a *legend* from Hawaii wins
I did this same exact routine in my bedroom once on my 3rd day of a methamphetamine binge. Then I couldn't find my yo-yo because I've never owned one. Thing that make you go hum.
0:30 someone said i love you
I've never seen so much hype around a yoyo before lol
It's back!!
Excellent song choice, amigo!
yoyoyoyoyyo... yoyo... yo!
Tere ghar
Wow, people are really into this stuff
Good call Papa DeFranco. Did he win btw?
Yes.
Congrats, that was amazing
Congrats, that was amazing
I love the crowd
This is super cool. Could we possibly run this video on Metro.co.uk and its social media channels? With credit and links back to Evan and the competition? This is mesmerising - thanks!

So...when's the anime for yo-yo competition
yoyoing really has evolved
So much enthusiasm, congratulations!
The Hajime Miura of 1a. When did Evan become such a Handsome dude, good looking and Electrifying Performance!!
Steve Loewen he always been mr steal yo girl
A real PlaYor I bet
If I was as skilled at anything as this dude is at yo-yo, I’d be okay with my life.
Now do all of that with 2 Yoyos
ITS BACK UP
I bet fidget spinner tournaments will be a thing one day.
They are already , plus a yoyo is more functional than fidget spinners come on its like you are humiliating yoyos
Was this Yo-Yo Ma?
Jeez, if anyone ever tells you there's no reason to have more than 60 fps, show them this video!
lets get this to at least 100K people .... :P
This guys energy was awesome. Good for him,
He's got that YoYo down pat, now all he needs is a Pineapple to give Katia Managan a run for her money!
He is the yoyo master who just kept on yoing
And Now he retired😭
Chee Hoo!!!! Hawaii isn’t on the map for the yoyo championship in the background. Evan Nagao just put Hawaii on da map!
Who's here from Phillyd??
i just wanna know how the string doesn't get tangled up...
