I think if we look at the first 5 years of Kanye producing for people and beginning to rap it's a really similar career path to what Pierre has started to create for himself. I also think it's just a reflection of hip hop now and the sounds that are popular right now at this time in our culture man. Pierre has made waves in what is considered a "good beat" right now in hip hop. Obviously Kanye is an undisputed legend, will go down in history as one of the most influential people for the genre ever. Definitely not claiming that pierre/carti at this time in their lives are anywhere near as accomplished as Kanye. But I was surprised at how much Pierre had not just produced for, but wrote vocal melodies and hooks for as well. Him trying to break away from being in a "producer box" the past few years reminded me of Kanye.
