- This tutorial will demonstrate the basics of DCSFlightpanels, a Logitech Pro Flight Panel configuration tool for Digital Combat Simulator (DCS), and how it works in keyboard emulator mode.

This is a good step in the right direction, but in my humble opinion a more plug and play method is required to get every users flight panel connected to DCS in a breeze fashion rather breaking brains on programming it. Plug and play profiles with a good discription on where to place them would be awesome (custom key binding is for people that are far more in depth with the sim then regular users anyway, a standard profile in which the knob on a flight panel does exactly what it does ingame would suffice for most "regular" users). For now I have not been able to connect any of my panels with DCS and knowing its possible its very frustrating, this tutorial does show all I need to know about programming a profile, which makes sence, but getting it to work in DCS isn't clear to me at all. A more clear tutorial on how to make the created profile work in DCS (where to put it, I have no idea where the keybinding profiles are situated, and does DCSflightpanels have to run in the background?)
Hope you can give me some words of wisdom, been trying to transfer from FSX/P3D to DCS for years now and if it all where just a tad more simplified......especially the complex key profiles of DCS are quite a challenge to remember...(hence a simple plug and play setup for the panels could take away so much frustration)
Very odd--I replied to this post before and my response got deleted, but I was not notified. In any case, please go to the Eagle Dynamics/DCS World forums and post your technical questions there. A very complete explanation on how to enable DCS-BIOS can be found there as well. DCSFlightpanels was developed and is still supported by a gentleman who does this on his own time with no financial support. Yes, plug-and-play would be great, but even as it is DCSFlightpanels with DCS-BIOS is not really all that hard to work with. You will find good support on the forums.
Hi, head over to the support thread and you will get help! Yes it isn't plug & play, you can ask for advice, ready made profiles in the thread and there are always someone there to help you. People with little computer knowledge uses DCSFP. forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=137670

I almost abandoned this device after I realized this won't work on IL-2 nor DCS.

I have thr flight control panel and just got the radio panel the other day works good. Just plugged the radio panel in and loaded up the program and worked right away.
Which program? DCS or DCS Flight Panel Mode?
Hello. help please. There is no "Key emulation SRS" option in the module selection. What can I do to use the radio panel with SRS?

@@sebastiansamuelsson1054 The problem has been solved in general. The Flaming cliffs tab works with SRS.
Awesome video mate! Thanks! I have one question though, I want to emulate one key, which is being held till I switch it back on the panel (hold +) and not just for 60 seconds which is readily available in the software. Is there anyway to do this?
How to use it in keyboard emulator mode? I configured the profile for the f-18 in dcs but when pressing the switche or gear lever, there is no action in dcs. All the keys are correctly binded in dcs and DCSFlightpanels app
Great video as I've just purchased the Flight Switch Panel. I've installed DCSFlightpanels, but it only shows the device - there are no options to map keys or change settings? Any ideas?
Thanks for your comments. In the upper left there is an icon to press to start a new profile, or you can hit "File/New" on the menu bar. A drop down menu should appear where you can select either keyboard emulator or to make a profile for one of the DCS modules that is supported. After that, all of the available switches and knobs should be shown below the panel graphic.

However I'm trying to bind the flaps up/down on my PZ70 for IL2 BOS, and I was wondering if it was possible to hold a key down when I hold the leaver down?
EDIT: I would have asked in the DCS forums but as this isn't DCS related I thought it would be better to ask here.

when i try to save the file . I get this ( C:\ USER \$$$$$$$$\Document\Saitek_DCS_ profile.binding ) File not found do you have a video on how to fix this ?
My dear instructor, i am facing a problem after many months using the Panel and thanks to your guidance i was able to use it perfectly set it up and fly my beautiful M 2000 in DCS.... After about 5 months one day i tried to open the dcsfp program and i was met with a warning and the message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" and i can not see any of the info on the window only the task bar on top where i can only access a few of the options like settings but whatever i put there when i close it is reset back to their original values. Also the same goes for the json path which is other than what it should be but even when i change this it is back to original after closing it... I was using the panel as a button emulator and with success in many games such as Elite Dangerous and IL2 Cliffs of Dover beyond DCS.... I was having a BLAST, i made a special construction on my desk to house the panel and life was good.... now a few days before i embark for a long long voyage i am facing this problem... I already asked in GitHub in their Discord channel but nobody answered so far... now i am going back to the tutor IN CASE you can help me... Please if you have any clue or if you are willing to help me send me a message for you are my last hope... Same goes of course to anyone that can help me out there, any help will be accepted!!! Thank you for reading this and keep up the good work...

Paul this is quite informative. I noticed you have a number of items preconfigured. Would you entertain attaching them so people can have ready examples. I am currently working the P51, Spitfire and Mosquito aircraft as a newbie and I would appreciate the jumpstart.

How have you have set-up and establish good connection to DCS (DCS-bios) which seems to be where I struggle to get the communication (data packet transfers) to work.
I would greatly appreciate a video showing how you connect the game to DCS-bios to DCSFlightpanels. Including all the hazzle of lua, script folders etc... That's where the issues usually stop people from a great piece of kit. Including potentially how you add another panel to your existing profiles...
I myself spent hours getting the radio panel to work. Finally did it - with a lot of help. Now having added the other 2 panels - my struggle starts all over unfortunately :-(
I love how the radio panel works for me!

Left Alt - R dose not work for programing with out the text editing because Alt R is reserved for a Listening Radeon Video card and The Radeon Software and has a a very high priority. I moved the command for Jettison Fule tanks to Lalt F and then configured that as normal .
Thanks RavenCodex. Interesting information. This has been a quirk of DCSFP from the beginning. It's a fairly easy workaround, but it comes up often with new users.
Where do i get dcs flight panels? I click the link in the dcs forum but it takes me to github and i dont see a link to download the file
Hi Flukesof Hazard. I agree that it's not as intuitive as it could be. Once on the GitHub page, the latest version is at the top, in this case -- "First version of AV-8B NA radios." Click on that title. On the next page you should see the DCSFlightpanels zip file for download. Here is a direct link:

Why I can't map alt+key? crtl-key and shift+ key maps works perfectly.

Okay, this is driving me insane. When I download literally EVERYTHING from Logitech, I get nothing close to the interface you show in your video. Can you slow down, and tell us how to get to that point?
Hi Kelly. This has nothing to do with Logitech. In fact, DCS Flightpanels exists because Logitech, and Saitek before them, have no interest in supporting DCS World directly. Start with this link and then come back if things still aren't clear.

Yes, this will work with other games in keyboard emulation mode.
