      Not a crime to look at someone. JJ isn't a babysitter. The lady is a grown woman. She went back to him ..twice.
      She did her a favour by letting it go on so she grows a spine and doesn't go back to him a 3rd time and waste more court time.

      Absolutely no excuse, no one forced her, regardless of what he said, she CHOSE after only knowing him for a month to give him 3500, that's her own problem for being insecure, seeking validation from a man, thinking that he loved her when she doesn't even love herself, she is a whole mess, he probably slid into her DMs with a "Hi beautiful" and she thought he loved her, you are only a easy mark if you ALLOW yourself to be, I guarantee no man is even getting a $1 from me, I don't care what sob story he has

I and others kept screaming from the rooftops to get rid of him before all that happened. So I do agree, there is sometimes some level of responsibility.

    I can’t help but notice that in cases where there’s a guy on the plaintiff’s side, people call the girl defendant a “gold-digger,” but when it’s the other way around, people call the girl plaintiff an “easy target,” and barely say a word about the guy defendant being a “gold-digger.” Interesting 🤔

    I feel really sorry for the plaintiff and have been in the same position of being conned into giving someone thousands of dollars. I was young and stupid but it taught me a lesson. We have to take responsibility to protect ourselves from obvious manipulation and not keep giving giving giving with no continuing demonstration of giving back from the other person. Love and companionship does not have to be bought. If we are married everything is community property, if not, take care of yourself before we get married. I'm not taking on a dependent but a partner.

Professionals that earn that much transact almost exclusively cashless so they have records for tax returns, even for things they can't claim.... only exception is if they travel. Only people that have that much cash are doing something illegal or get paid in cash (restaurants). Next time you're with your dentist ask them if they have that much cash lying around.

      I think Judge Judy's major point was to prove that it wasn't a loan because if it were she would have had some form of documentation. If she gave cash there would have been a promissory note where he acknowledged it.

    Only thing I hate about JJ is if she doesn’t do it then no one does it. My pap always keep cash in the house. He would hide it in random places. When he passed away we found a total of $10,000 he had hid throughout the house.

I would take what I wanted to save and put it under my pillow and saved more than 3.5k multiple times..I am only 34

      But what everyone is missing here is that the plaintiff isn't telling the truth. She was the one trying to lock him in. He said "I can't just move up there. I have 9 months left on my lease and that will mess up my credit". He wasn't in a rush to live with her, not a man with his own place. She's the one who insisted that he break the lease and she gave him the money to do it. That's why she has no proof!

    It would sound weird to me if someone didn't keep emergency cash in their home, especially nowadays. The economy is crap, big banks are going bankrupt and the covid lockdowns (who knows if something similar or worse could happen in the future?)
    We a huge steel safe thats bolted to the floor. Important paperwork, firearms, valuables and most importantly emergency cash is what we keep in keep in there. Its stupid to allow big banks and by proxy the government to have control of every penny you have. Not to mention all the stories lately of big banks freezing or closing people's accounts with no notice or reason leaving them completely at the mercy of the bank as they have no money to survive without their account.
    People please if you can keep at least some spare cash in a safe place at home so you're not at the mercy of any of these big banks and/or the government.

      Even with cash you are still at the mercy of the government because its value hinges on the government’s economy not collapsing. Look at what happened to Germany after WWI. Someone made a dress out of money to show how worthless it was. I have been to countries where I would only exchange some of my US money because some local people didn’t like accepting their own currency. If all hell broke loose I would rather have a stockpile of food to barter with than money.

    IMHO I don't think the woman should get any money back. Take this as a learning lesson and do not give a man 3500 dollars a month after meeting.     What is wrong with people??? If you meet someone and within and short amount of time of knowing them they need to "borrow" money from YOU (someone that hey just met) THEN DON'T DO IT. Them asking you for money means that their credit at the bank is ruined, they have maxed out their credit cards, their family is done "lending" them money, their friends are done "lending" them money so they have to go out and get a NEW girlfriend or boyfriend to suck money out of and never pay them back. Anyone else would have left it at that, but the plaintiff gave him the money to break the lease in order to eliminate his excuse for not being able to move in with her.
