Of three rounds where he dominated the fight but he couldn't hurt Frazier he certainly swelled as face up but anyway that's just the fight of the century The Thrilla in Manila was it a whole different ball game I don't know how either one lasted as long as they did. Ali had asked to quit and have his gloves cut off at the end of the 14th he felt like he was going to die but Eddie futch having a blind Fighter for all for the most part had already decided to call to fight. So when Muhammad Ali's Corner completely ignore his request that they cut off his gloves he was informed that Frazier would not be fighting 15s rounds and if they're standing up and barely raising one arm because he was so exhausted he completely collapsed. Similar to the fight of the century where I didn't agree with any of the scores I mean I think it's obvious 9rounds the six for Frazier. They respected each other, but Ali did kinda take it too far when promoting the fights. Also didn't help that Frazier has admitted before that he was too thin-skinned when Ali went on his tirades.
Back when people were relaxed, funny, well spoken and well dressed - even boxers. There's a distinct pleasent wibe to this whole clip. A way of communication that cannot be found in the 2000s.
One thing Frazier and other fighters knew for sure about Ali: being in the ring with and facing his fists is more merciful than being in an interview with and facing his tongue!
This is priceless. Ali used this opportunity to repair his relationship with Frazier. Frazier came out with a serious demeanor expecting the usual insults from Ali. But Ali shifted his behavior and Frazier became more relaxed as the show went on. Remarkable Transition. Emotional Intelligence at work on Ali's Part.
5:08 The G.O.A.T dropping some knowledge ! Damn it man I love the man, in all the showmanship you get the sense that he never disliked Joe. he probably really liked the man.
WWE needs to watch and take notes! This is what you call a fantastic work! Joe couldn't help but laugh at some of the Ali rhetoric 😆 Ali loved Frazier and vice versa. Ali had gift of gab, Frazier did not; however, Ali gave him "lay-ups" so he could have a decent comeback. Ali might be the overall most talented entertainer in history. He could have been a legendary stand-up comedian, actor, or a top pro-wrestler very easily.
They didn't love each other during their Feud they gained each other's respect the way Frazier just destroyed Ali in the first fight with Ali kept fighting back the second fight was no good because Muhammad Ali ruined it with his over 130 illegal holding behind the head bullshit crap but then this is really in Manila probably the most brutal boxing sweet ever well I don't know because Ali's jaw was completely destroyed after the first one Frazier lost 11 lbs of water weight in the ring and couldn't even hold his hands up at the end he was so punched out and then when Frazier didn't come out for the last round and the Philippines Ali collapsed out of exhaustion and the brutal beating that his body took

You do understand the Ali persona evidenced in this interview was what caused him to transcend his sport right? Without it, he's just another (great) boxer. Not the most influential sports person of all time.
These two giants of the game had a beautiful friendship, and it still warms to heart to see them together. Eternal life is theirs, and peaceful rest is guaranteed.
The hardship these men went though growing up in daily life is what seperated them from the fighters of today.these men were "fighting" long before they ever stepped in a ring.true warriors.

What many don't realize, and Ali acknowledges it here, was that Joe would blatantly dis him by intentionally calling him Clay, which was why Ali called him a Tom. But as Ali said here, Joe did that for the express purpose of antagonizing him, even though he would spend his entire whining about how Ali had dissed him.
Joshua Tree I think it was because, the right dropped him... I haven’t seen the fight in a long time though to be sure... Boxing back then was crazy... Frazier could to beat Ali but probably wouldn’t to beat Foreman... Ali could beat Foreman, but had trouble with Frazier. All 3 boxers are legends in the sports but each struggled and did better with the others. (I don’t believe Frazier fought Forman... Joe Frazier was hospitalized for just over A month in intensive care too!! Same as, after their 2nd fight!!! + Ali absolutely FLOGGED George foreman!!!, Whereas, foreman absolutely anhialated joe!!! And he got sick of knocking him down!!! In the 4th knock down, Joe's feet literally left the canvas
In eternal peace too
I can listen to these 2 Argue All day I swear Lol Its Classic when they were ever together in an appearance
Wow the brilliance here will sadly never be seen again in this sport. Just such amazing men. Ali was so amazing here.
Facts!
so who is the host here the white guys or Muhammad Ali... it makes one wonder!! 😁
He was a great entertainer
Golden Phoenix he was a great person
True class of trash talking no flashing money or jewelry.
This is classic trash talk not what Conor McGregor does
@You Tried It! 😀
Rakesh Sharma no way.. go watch the crowd reaction Conor is bettar than ali
Mcgregor was the king of his era when it came to trash talk. Not defending him as a person hes a cock but the build up to the Aldo fight was on another level. He was showing up in brazil standing on cars screaming while ripping a picture of Aldo and chewing it. There were 100s of people around him. Whether you find it distasteful or not, it was impressive lol
Sure this is good but the fact you even talked about McGregor's trash talk and the fact millions of others talk about it factually make McGregor better in terms of promotion to a fight. McGregor is by far one of the best promotional fighters so far. Dram = attention. People love to see confrontation and over dramatized events even if its just to see the bad guy get beat the fuck up.
@@gf-qd4ek Young kid, you know NOTHING about Ali do you?? It's easy to be a sensation of your time, but it's a whole nother thing to be a LEGEND of the centry. Just for the fact that you try to say Connor mcnugget is better than Ali shows your young age. Son, if you only knew.. Connor himself even said he's not comparable to Ali. Please sit down, young lad
"I said Roy"...OMG...Classic
That greeting was everything. I miss Bruthas giving 5 to each other.
Ali, "I'm gone be dancing!"
Fraizer, "What about fighting? People come to see a fight, not a dance!" 💯😅😂🤣
1:22 "One day I'd like my little children to play with his little children."
And they did, except it was in a boxing ring and they were grown women
That old school power to the people hand slap!!!!
Two of the all time greats, love rewatching this.
Nothing but respect for both of these champs. Giants of the sport and beyond.
Ali ruined fraizer life on a personal level. How do you respect him
The oreo line was epic 😆 that's why he got out of there 😆
😂
I didn’t even know oreo’s existed back then 😕
No it wasn't. Ali didn't take into account the Frazier had kids that would be tormented at school over crap that Ali was saying.
VOIP Portland: what context does this have to the conversation???
@@VoIPPortland Don't be so delicate. It just shows that back then people could joke about differences without getting emotional. Todays generation could learn a lot from this interview.
Joe Frazier helped Ali out with cash when he was on his arse, looking at this video it's hard to believe .
Ali was promoting the fight. They had great admiration for each other
Shut up racist bitch
@@teccash3507 How is this racist? Go learn the meaning of the word first. Dumbass.
I love Joe but this is just part of the game.
They respected each other, but Ali did kinda take it too far when promoting the fights. Also didn't help that Frazier has admitted before that he was too thin-skinned when Ali went on his tirades.
"I said Roy" 😂😂🤦🏾♂️ .. What ah legend .. I love you Ali #RIP #GOAT 🙌🏾
1:23 "One day I would like my children to play with his"
*26years later*
laila ali vs jacqui frazier
Wooooooooow
hahaha, yes!
They lifted him like it was nothing bro 5:00
frazier curled him like a 5lb dumbell
😂
65kg approx between to tough men...ain't no thang!
@@whatsup8464 Do you often lift a 30kg+ dumbbell like it's a peace of paper?
Ali changed “boy” to “Roy” quickly! 14:30
KarlaElaine100 that was hilarious 😂
That cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣
@S.T. Because it rhimes...to say Boy to a colored man is not polite to say the least
Joe bout raise off his feet till Ali changed up. Quick thinking.
Back when boxing was entertaining.
Ali let’s be United one minute to get him. Ali physiology amazing
Wish I could just use a time mashine to be born to be able to see this amazing history. There will never be another Muhammad Ali.
MOHAMMAD ALI had an outstanding sense of humor , very intelligent indeed , my he rest in peace what a true warrior
Ali: "let me tell ya somethin' boy...... "
Frazier:
Ali: "I said Roy!"
Frazier: Oh.. (sits down)
Dick Cavitt actually was able to breathe the same air as Ali and Frazier at the same damn time!!!
Cavitt the 🐐
Back when people were relaxed, funny, well spoken and well dressed - even boxers. There's a distinct pleasent wibe to this whole clip. A way of communication that cannot be found in the 2000s.
Joe looks like he can be Antonio brown dad
One thing Frazier and other fighters knew for sure about Ali: being in the ring with and facing his fists is more merciful than being in an interview with and facing his tongue!
RIP to "The Greatest", Muhammad Ali.
And RIP, "Smokin'" Joe Frazier.
Their legacy stands forever.
Two of the greatest boxers who ever lived!
they picked Cavett up like he weighed 10 pounds
This is priceless. Ali used this opportunity to repair his relationship with Frazier. Frazier came out with a serious demeanor expecting the usual insults from Ali. But Ali shifted his behavior and Frazier became more relaxed as the show went on. Remarkable Transition. Emotional Intelligence at work on Ali's Part.
Wow didn't expect that kind of interaction before they sat down. RIP to another 2 legends
Joe is calm and able to hold back his temper.
What about fighting? The people wanna see you fighting not to dance. Joe Frazier 😂😂
1:24 their children did fight each other.
What a character Ali was....One of the most absolutely likeable characters among the celebrities of all time.
A true legend, to be sure.
Surreal. The two greatest sportsmen ever.
Lol @8.25: "you have the complexion and the connection to get the protection" golden words had me in stitches
5:08 The G.O.A.T dropping some knowledge ! Damn it man I love the man, in all the showmanship you get the sense that he never disliked Joe. he probably really liked the man.
Man I swear I’m glad I watched this and heard that message if only more of us would grasp that we would be on top
They were friends. They hung out together. Frazier was the guy that pushed for Ali to get Ali's boxing license back
WWE needs to watch and take notes!
Rock was the closest thing WWE had to Ali entertainmentwise
Lay ups??? What the fuck does that even mean.loved each other ???? Maybe after thier careers was over.but even into old age joe was bitter at the way ali talked shit about him.as a young man ali was a showman yes .and he was also an ingrate and an asshole.and by the way i watched the 1st fight live and joe won hands down.yes ali probably out pointed him but in boxing at least in those days heavy punches counted for more abd so did the cadence.as in who was in control landing the heavier blows at the end.and that was hands down jie Frazier.greatest fight in history.they litterally ruined each other .lay ups !!!come on .thats extremely unfair .ali gave him nothing !!!!! Ali wanted that title back bad yiu think he went in thier and said i like joe ill let him go the distance.meanwhile joe is the one who carried muhammad.giving him $$$$ while suspended and lobbying for alis right to fight.stupid and very unkind comment.
Fuckin wwe 😂
Robert Jones calm down dude. He talking about the jokes. (Referring to the layups) You way to tense bro....slow down and breathe. We all know the history of the fights.
RIP both genius...!!!Ali is not only boxer, he is the warrior of human rigths...! Smokin is miracle's how moving in the ring, it's hard to put punches...! Ali is the best for me in a sport, becouse he's the best ATHLETHA...Muhammad is a most perfect boxer and sportist ever...! This is my opinion...! This people is really KING in a he's ERA...!
The golden area
Two real Champions
I stood up in the night with my father to watch these fantastic men boxing....
Untouchable for all Times
The way they greeted each other tho!!!!
Priceless.... #Soul Brothers
10:09 ohh maaan from Ali🤣🤣🤣 he is so damn funny, its impossible not to like him😃 he is just the greatest of alll time!!!
KKK call me Ali 😂😂
Omg!! It's cute and humbly laughing interview it feels like two best friends are talking on a interview 🤣🔥
Ali spoke so powerfully back then. Its a shame they poisoned him to keep him from talking through the rest of his time alive. He would have continued to changed the world beyond.
What do you mean "poison"? Im all for conspiracy theories but after getting hit as often as Ali did most people would be in the same state
What u mean?
daniel stasiukiewicz www.google.com/amp/s/newspunch.com/muhammad-ali-was-silenced-and-murdered/amp/
@@MyDante71 thanks for sharing. This my first time reading about this conspiracy, but it makes perfectly good sense. Ali words were powerful and he was able to articulate himself very well to the point he could draw people to him. He was a wonderful man!
They did I agree
"I'm a good fighter, and I'm as good as your writer." Not even half way through yet, this stuff is great. :)
Two great men. And that has nothing to do with sports.
Two great Champions wish they were still with us.May they both be resting in God's peace forever.
Ali showed his class when Joe was trying to exit the stage.
Brilliant. They don’t make them like that any more. RIEP Ali - true idol
if he's not the first rapper I don't know who is
10:30 😂😂😂😂 I almost forgot how funny he was man.
Ali says to Frazier, 'Let's be friends for one minute just to get him.' 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 A fantastic comedian Ali is.
Frazier & Ali, could have have a hit TV show based on the duo.
Two greats. Ali was acting like a petulant child right through this interview. It was obvious his sole aim was to irritate Frazier but, it all looked very playful to me.
You do understand the Ali persona evidenced in this interview was what caused him to transcend his sport right? Without it, he's just another (great) boxer. Not the most influential sports person of all time.
@@dundalis Correct, his personality as well as his boxing ability made the man.
That intro was handshake was the most '70s thing I'd ever seen.
These two giants of the game had a beautiful friendship, and it still warms to heart to see them together.
Eternal life is theirs, and peaceful rest is guaranteed.
Wonderful. Ali was and is an inspiration. Witty and intelligent.
You watch this interview and realising that you will never see fighters like Ali , joe and George for a 100 000 more years
The hardship these men went though growing up in daily life is what seperated them from the fighters of today.these men were "fighting" long before they ever stepped in a ring.true warriors.
Facts..
Wow pure wit and class, Ali was #RestInPower
"This has been The History of America, just Love to see two colored folk fighting each other"
~Muhammad Ali 🙏
RIP to both The Greatest and Smokin Joe 🙏🥊
When Ali said "hes no uncle tom" it really warmed my heart
What many don't realize, and Ali acknowledges it here, was that Joe would blatantly dis him by intentionally calling him Clay, which was why Ali called him a Tom. But as Ali said here, Joe did that for the express purpose of antagonizing him, even though he would spend his entire whining about how Ali had dissed him.
Everyone look at the legend of Ali ! See at the Smokey Joe he is classy man .
Lmao.. This was too funny.. I love, even though they were rivals, there was respect
Leading up to the first fight there was none but I guess they respected each other more after that
Drake they both could talk but both really earned respect for each others skill... Ali admitted he would worry about Joes right hand
@@eclecticcerebro8287 its amazing that Ali worried more about Joes right hand than his left hook
I’m speaking purely based on boxing styles and Frazier had the style foreman would eat).. it was a great era.. Unlike today’s and recent years, shyt shows
Joshua Tree just looked it up, they did fought so my theory worked lol
Muhammad Ali is greatest athlete ever. Joe Frazier is right there too. “THE Garden is sold out”!!!!!!!!!
