Merry Christmas everybody. I thought I’d share with you the other race I tried last week, back in ACC. I’m sure many of you will be having far too nice a day to be on RUclips. But I thought I’d upload this one today, just in case any of you need a break from ‘Christmas stuff’ for 10 minutes or so. Hope you enjoy it, and thank you for watching ❤
That was a good qualify and very good finish. Was hopeing you would keep the 3 pos, but it was a rather long race to be defensive in. I'll take 5th any day. And glad raceroom don't have rain, could do it. Good one Chris
Thanks mate. Yeah, I actively avoid entering wet races because I know it takes a lot of practice to learn new braking points and stuff. But this one caught me out… low percentage chance of rain, dry qualifying… I thought I’d be safe! But yeah, every time I tried to push just a little bit, I ended up sliding onto the grass… so thought the best option was to take it easy, and make sure I finished. Anywhere! But a top five was really good 😃

You've been busy lately. Watching this while waiting for the roasties to finish. Good drive in the end. I quite enjoy the wet. Seem to do okay in it. Gave up on Suzuka at the weekend. Tried a couple of AC prototype races. Boy, the quality of driving is poor. One race at Spa yesterday, I got hit from behind on the Kemmel straight by someone overtaking me on Lap 1, which caused me to end up at the back. Even after being taken out by someone else later in the race at the final chicane, I finished 4th. The driving on ACC is way better.
Yeah, I’ve had a bit more free time this week to do some more races. This was the race I mentioned in my reply to your comment the other day. I wasn’t going to make a video out of it, as not too much happened, but I thought I’d save it for a bonus Christmas upload. The driving standard was pretty good, considering the conditions. Sure, mistakes were made, but there was nothing careless or reckless - I really enjoyed it. Yeah the LMPs in AC are a bit too chaotic at the moment. I may try it this week, but I don’t have much confidence in it!
I'm really liking your format of live highlights interspersed with dissected replays, all with excitable and super observant commentary. One suggestion I have is to stich into the live footage a picture in picture of the cockpit view of the car directly behind you. It gives a great view of the pressure you're under as well as a realistic chase view. And if there is nobody near behind then perhaps use the car alongside or just in front. No doubt this would have a production workflow overhead but I've seen this used elsewhere and IMHO it worked really well.
Mate, this is a great idea, thanks for the suggestion! I’ve used Picture in Picture a few times to show a battle a bit further ahead of me, but never thought to use it as on on-board view from a car right behind me. Merry Christmas Chris. Pro tips for you for the future, in the wet put 35psi on all 4 tyres and abs to 1. I know it sounds crazy but trust me it works !!
Nice one, thank you! It took me months to get dry tyre pressures right, so I didn’t have a clue about wet! I should be a bit more prepared, next time it rains!

Nice one, welcome to the channel! Sadly LFM has just dropped rFactor 2, but only because rF2 has launched its own online multiplayer. So you’ll still find plenty of races to try 👍

@@Northbourne12 Yeah, AC on LFM is great so far. I know a few people on AMS2 and they all say it’s made huge strides forwards with recent updates. Not much in the way of decent online racing unless you join a community. But it looks fantastic and is great for offline racing too. Enjoy!
Merry Christmas! - As of for the wet racing, it appears you missed the latest memo? Someone found out, that in the wet all you need to do is pump up all tyres to 35 PSI (max) - done!
I like the lfm content and your passion I am wondering why there wasn't as much acc, did it had to do that ac got added (i do like it both but just curious?
Yes, exactly that reason. I only get time to do 1-2 races in a week, so with AC being new, I enjoyed racing in that for a few weeks. But generally, I like to go from sim to sim 👍

@@3TRCGarage Haha, if it helps, I run the most basic and cheap temporary setup! Second-hand wheel, entry-level pedals and a cheap folding Playseat Challenge. No permanent rig at all, I just fold put my chair next to my work desk when I want to have a race 👍
Ahh nice one, I didn’t know that. Didn’t have a clue about wet tyre pressures either, I’d adjusted them to around 26.5 for the dry, but had to let them do their own thing in the rain.

@@chrisrogerssimracing shame. Your room looked small but kind of like mine. I've crammed a gaming desk and a 3 monitor rig in a 3x3m room. Sure it's cramped but it works 😂 but as long as you are having fun, that's all that matters
@@firstjayjay Ahh yeah, I’ve had to downsize a little bit since making that video, as we needed to put a bit of extra furniture in that room. So I’ve reduced the length of my desk by 30cm, and moved it to the corner of the room next to the door. So the desk basically runs from the edge of the door, right to the far wall. So triple screens are definitely a no-go for now, sadly

wet tyres are bugged atm so just running them at max PSI is fastest.

Ill add to that, If you dont what to be a meta chaser then the optimal PSI for wets is 30PSI
