This is so amazing. This was the year I was born, 1972. To think much of what we do in digital art started so long ago, yet seems so new. Of course, it has advanced, but this tablet was extremely advanced even for now. Very interesting and/or funny points. The sounds around 5:01, sounds like a cash register - funny. Then around 6:13 Mr. Vanderbeek's comments and giggle about what if it could simulate a paint brush. This is like time travel. Fun and informative.

Sweet find! So archaic looking, yet visionary at the same time.

Thanks for a brilliant 1972 film from the time when actually very much was in it´s cradle. You sence the ingenuity, the visions and what a highly technical knowledge the artist indeed had to possess. Video synthesizers and oscilloscope art is somewhat forgotten compared to the music synthesis and the legacy there after, well known to most of us.

Stan this was the same type of things Xerox gave Job and Gates. You done a great job. You need to draw and paint pictures like current 01/22/2012 arts paint on canvas showing brush strokes and layers of paint. You need to go from 2 dimensions to 3 dimensions.

Stan's work was inspiration for Terry Gilliam's animations.

so crazy. literally talking about the electronic paintbrush as a joke and now is come to basics when digital illustration comes in. plus everything they talk makes a lot of sense nowadays and they didn't even know how to use a computer entirely. amazeballs

Apple never claimed to invent the tablet, nor the smartphone, nor the computer, nor the music player.

Untrue these thinker here surpass those today in many cases, what they lack is development. Cave men have inferior capacity, these here do not.

@@elasticharmony it looks as if 7 years ago I decided to hide the words CANT SPEAK in my reply... no doubt my attempt to be dark and edgy or something. I was viewing a lot of creepy RUclips at the time.
