- Welcome to Part 49 of my long term series of videos covering the build of Don Young's Hunslet 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Locomotive in 5" Gauge.
In this video, I assemble the Steam Chests and Valves, do some basic checks and apply some compressed air to see if it runs.
Given the nature of these sorts of projects, new videos will be posted as I progress through the build but there will be no regular cadence, rather their frequency will be dependent upon time available and of course real progress on my part.
If you like what you see, please do give me a thumbs up and subscribe.
Enjoy!
So pleased for you, Mark - you're an inspiration!
Being the son of B Terry Aspin "Chuck the model engineer" I am a relative newbie to model engineering myself, the work you have done on this loco and the videos is fantastic.I have in recent years made a few two stroke and four stroke 7.5cc engines and recently acquired a full set of Rob Roy castings from ebay, But after watching these videos I now think I am getting completely out of my depth. 😀
It's ALIVE its ALIVEEEEEEE well done chap
😁
Off she goes indeed, looks like she wants to dive off the bench too!
Yeah, I think some balancing may be in order 😁
Lovely to see it running! This has been a great video series - am looking forward to more 🙂
Fantastic, well done
Very nice workmanship. I guess it does not matter how long the build takes , as long as it's right when finished.
Regards.
Steve.

Fantastic, well done sir 👏. One day I’ll be there with my little loco! All the best, Matt
I'm enjoying your build just as much as mine Matt 👍

Very cool! I can’t wait to see it finished in its entirety. So exciting really.
