[Sentinel Girls: Marfusha] Story Mode - Marfusha Solo

An interesting little game that somehow popped in my Steam recommendations, and man am I glad it did. Sentinel Girls: Marfusha is a really fun and interesting game; it reminds me a lot of those old flash games where you had to defend your base against waves of enemies whilst getting money to buy upgrades. This game is very similar to that but it introduces some RNG into the mix by giving you 3 random cards to choose from. You spend your money to get 1 and they include temprorary weapons, consumables, stat upgrades or a companion. Also, screw taxes.
The gameplay alone already makes this a fun experience, but the story is also very interesting. It's a dystopian setting and it does a good job at showing the hopelessness of the situation. When you have a companion character, you also get some interactions at the dorm every now and then, and while it's not much, for some reason I ended up liking the whole squad, especially Laika cuz she gets the most screen time and is a dork. Marfusha is also a nice character during the interactions with the squad members. I did not get to see every single interaction with the different members, but the ones I saw were great.
For this run I ended up going solo because I wanted the achievement that came with it. This is when I learned how important the companions are. Even a lvl 1 companion is a huge help especially for the bomb robots that want to zerg rush you. Needless to say, I had to try a few times to get it without resetting.
The endings depend on the companions you have + the true ending you get by clearing the game without resetting a day. Small spoilers but the story being the way it is, there is no real "good" ending. I will say that the true ending is important becuase it's directly linked to the sequel that I will be playing later.
All in all, a very fun game that serves well as something to play when you have a little bit of time to spare.
