  • We decided to make our own 2 1/2" exhaust for our 1991 Honda Civic hatchback. We're using an older method called lobster tailing the exhaust pipes to maintain a good flow. We could have bought one, but the ones we saw available were stock units that were too small, or extreme versions that were way to big, and we want to get away from the "fart box" effect that makes a lot of cars sound really bad. We believe we achieved that goal.

I built a Yamaha XS400 about 15 years ago. I remember doing this to get the exhaust to fit when I hard tailed the frame. I think I used conduit to fab mine up.

Definitely time consuming, but so are trips back and fourth to the auto parts store hoping to find the right piece. Thanks for watching!

A lot of work, but worth it
