Interesting hp system, hurting your opponent and healing yourself are Both The Same Thing. Is the middlepoint star ONLY an indicator, or does it have more significance? Maybe effects that only count while the star's where the hp piece is?
The HP system basically acts like a scale in this regards. The star is to indicate the center, and from the center you need to deal 8 damage to win the game. I had played around with getting added effects depending on where the scale was, but from my testing, it was clunky for my tastes and made for degenerate play that wasn't fun. It is an idea I'm setting aside, like a faction that gets their effects depending on where the scale is. Not something I'm willing to add into the base game.
