    Spent countless hours on all these machines. We also used to tag team loading 785’s with two 994’s . Hung up my hard hat last month. Already starting to miss it, sort of. 👍👍🇺🇸

    • @williamhall9204
      @williamhall9204 28 дней назад

      @MrKill56 They were a huge success for Caterpillar. And the 992C’s were so much better than the 992B model. Cat added 140 horsepower, 2.5 cubic yard bigger bucket, and about 18 tons more weight. The only thing I liked more on the B model was the cab structure. It had a really unique look to it.

    992C & 992D are my favorite loaders of all time, so I love the video upload! Never been able to operate one before. Probably never will. We have 2 992G’s and a 992k at our quarry that I run. Love the 992G. It’s my substitute for not being able to run a 992C or 992D haha

      @@PAmining they are slow that’s for sure from what I’ve heard😂 my dad and uncle who I work with started working at our quarry in the 80s so they got to run 992C & 992D’s. They had like 3-4 of them so I’m extremely jealous lmao our family is 6 generations deep at the quarry we work at. In my opinion you can’t beat the look of the old 992’s as well. Damn PA, I don't know where this is at, but that loader operator is not with the program. He doesn't keep his floor clean at all, and loads the trucks about half way! Just say'n.

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  Месяц назад +2

      Well first of all the loaders in clay., I've never seen a clay cut from a 992 that's not a bouncy floor because the loader sinks constantly. The first truck was loaded with three buckets because the 92 wanted to reposition and move over to dig the fresh dirt from the D11. 4 passes from a 992 in a 100 ton truck is pretty standard. A fifth pass would be great but keeping the trucks moving is also important. I'm sure the company is factoring in 3/4 loads from the 992. I do it daily. You use an average payload factor to figure total BCY moved per day.

    i heard that 992c shares the same engine as the 777,turbocharged v12

    • @PAmining
      @PAmining  Месяц назад +2

      That depends on what series 777 you are talking about. In this video, yes, they both have V12s. The 992C carries a CAT 3412, V12, however the original 777s were powered by a D348 and later models (B-D) powered by 3508 V8s. The 777F was the first in the 777 line to boast the big C32 V12. Cheers!

    a question, why dont they make the dump bed sides higher so they can hold more dirt/coal? since these trucks are off road they have no legal weight restrictions to worry about. are they already at the tires limits in weight? I ask this becouse Ive seen regular 10 wheel dumptrucks in some foreign countries loaded to 100 TONS as well as 18 wheelers where there are no weight limits. they have the tires pumped to 180+PSI and have water cooled breaks. it blew my mind that these regular trucks could be loaded to these weights. ( now how long these trucks last I have no idea!). here are examples, this is insane!...ruclips.net/video/_pjLWBoxLnE/видео.html

    • @dhewitt2514
      @dhewitt2514 Месяц назад +2

      The entire truck will be designed to carry a specific gross weight from tyres, brakes, suspension, hydraulics etc and still be able to cope with rough ground and steep grades

    • @williamhall9204
      @williamhall9204 Месяц назад +1

      @jamesba-xd7xf Manufacturers do make special dump beds. They can handle much more volume than the standard rock beds.However the equipment owner will not load that coal body with overburden ( rock & dirt ). That is because the haul truck would be severely overloaded. The warranty will be null and void when structural damage eventually occurs.Yes, it is permissible to slightly overload the typical haul truck and still preserve the warranty.But a haul truck that is constantly and severely overloaded will have a much shorter working life. The trucks are designed and engineered to haul a specific load capacity. The mine owner or equipment fleet owner will not be keen on any method that will shorten the working life of a multi million dollar investment. Also overloading mining haul trucks is not safe practice.Doing so can result in failure of many different components of the truck. People and property will be at risk.
