    The true genius of Ashwin was in talking a whole bunch without giving ANYTHING away. Ian Ward was just as clueless in the end as he was in the beginning, as were we!!!

      @@premsujith1590 I don't think he revealed anything that wasn't already known by those laptop guys... His variations are so subtle that on the field, no matter how much analysis you have done, it is very difficult to read. I feel off-spinners variations are much more difficult to read off the hand than leg spinners, unless you have someone unorthodox like Mujeeb or Rashid

      @@joelvedamony actually the googly you are telling is offspin and legspin is carrom and doosra. I think you don't know much about variation of offspinner .back of a hand ball is called googly it is similar to off spin but it use wrist offspinner use finger

      World-class spinner but still sad that he played in ODIs and T20 for India long back in 2017. He is no more considered for shorter formats where actually variations are more recommended. I Hope Indian team management considers him for the upcoming T20 series against England.

      Now,that he seemed to have got the recognition and may be from now kohli and sastri will select him (which is unlikely to me even now).
      Note:- India can't win World Cup 2021 and 2023 without ashwin (i think)

    Ashwin is a perfect example of sheer hardwork,dedication,ultimate commitment towards the game....He has perfectly filled in the shoes of Anil Kumble who used to be a great fighter in difficult times and contributing both with bat and ball whenever the team needed them to deliver.....utmost respect for this great sportsman who deserves much more recognition

      @@Mambo05-f5k Murli is legend everyone knows but he is saying technicality. No bowler in world can do what Murli did because he had rotating shoulder which gave him ability to spin ball both sides naturally but Warne and Ashwin developed their skills by practice which any spinner can do

      This actually helped the English team to an extent in the last tour apart from negating him by preparing seaming tracks. He was not effective on the tour after this interview.

      @@ajaymadhavan4606 Which tour? 2018 he was somewhat unlucky he was playing with wrist injury in spin friendly pitch in 4th test in s'hampton and missed 5th test in oval another spin friendly wicket. He was the best bowler in overcast condition in first test. He could have had ended with around 20 wickets had he been fully fit.

    Ashwin's bowling is more of a continuous development with grip and action than a natural off-spinner. Such a progressive spinner who uses physics with immense mental strength. Champion

    Ashwin is an artist as a spin bowler. I could watch him bowling all day. His "carrom ball" is like watching a magician produce a rabbit out of a hat. You know how its done, but every time you see it, you can't help exclaiming, "Wow! How did he do that?".

    He has got sooo many ideas and ways he bowls. Once he retires I am sure he will share it more openly with everyone. Sounds like a real wealth of information and he has the language to be able to put what he does into words - so it’s a win win - need to wait another 3 to 5 years though till he retires ;)

      That's his strength, he is not natural turner of the ball like warne, murali or even kuldeep so he has to use his variation to take wickets.

    I'm not sure what to say, we were outplayed in this 2nd test (am not talking about the vid). When the pitch is a spinners paradise, esp at home, you're almost unbeatable. Having said that Leach, Mo & Bess as our three spinners on tour, they're pretty ordinary. Now and again they'll have a one off great test but can't be relied on consistently. They're nowhere near the level that Swanny was.

      Next two matches are in a new stadium with pitches made of 3 different soils. also its pink ball, I think it will be more bouncy and Australian, I also predict England might just win or draw there. They should go with all three quicks and really have a go at the batsmen, there is a period in pink-ball cricket where the ball will just move all over the place. On saying that the curators might just give them the spin-friendly one.

    Everyone should just try bowling variations, especially from a young age. We don’t do enough of that in England to the point where my old coach would tell me off for trying to practice carrom balls and doosra’s in the nets. I didn’t listen and now I can bowl anything which at a village level is lethal

      "normal" is redundant there. Murali was a wrist spinner whose stock ball spun from off to leg but wasn't bowled from back of the palm like a googly. So cricket described him as default 'off break'

      His palm and fingers are too long and strong , also so flexible, not every one can do what he does. But if you look at his body it is very fragile and he cannot take risk like Jaddu does. Each one is different.

    The pundits are clueless, they've never spun a ball in their lives, let alone spend months working on variations, they get it wrong all the time. Chances are Ashwin's spinning a web of lies anyway like Warne just to out fox the opposition. You can imagine the England team now with their analysts all watching this. You have to ask yourself how much of this is intended for the ears of the opposition and why would you give your game away? The bloke's a top bowler, skilled and very clever.

The problem with the current lot is that they bowl superb deliveries, but throw away all the pressure created by dishing out rank full tosses and short deliveries. Ashwin and Axar won't give away those easy boundaries... The batters would need to take a risk. Thats the main difference... And when batters take risks, then wickets fall... Besides, Ashwin was invested upon and was given all opportunities to learn and grow. Moeen just played his 1st test in 2 years... As a result, Ashwin has already become a legend and Moeen hasn't accomplished that much....

    Brilliant video, this guy gives India such a huge advantage over England. We have had a serious spin problem for the best part of a decade. Not only do we not have a mystery spinner but are struggling to find even a half decent finger spinner that can just land the ball consistently. In India if we lose the toss that will be game set and match before a ball is bowled. I am actually happy we have eve won a game. India are the best side in the world atm, no question.
