The first three cuts (w/lyrics) of The Moody Blues album; "On The Threshold Of A Dream". Hope you enjoy- Joe
My dad fixed Moody Blues broken down van in the early 70's ...they gave him this album signed by all of them... must have listened to it a thousand times since I was seven years old
Dinah Darling - Oh my gosh! That album, signed by all the band members! What a treasure! Surely, one of your most prized possessions? Please tell me you still have it!
I've been listening to it too since I've been a little kid, and I never tire of it. Every song on this album is so good, and that opening... wow... that has been burned into my memory. Certainly one of my favorite records of all time.
lucky, absolutely.
That's awesome!
💙
Wow how fantastic is
Their music and lyrics are mystical.. They opened doors of perception.
Beautifully said!
Try them with a little LSD or Mescaline about midnight.
I am almost 70 years old. Still listening. Good music never dies
Iwill be 71 this year!
I will be 74 in 2024. Life is good!
I am also 69 and expecting a new "position" this year... ;-)
@@micheltremblaywebcellance9438 dang. I'm. 69 and. I love. This just love it 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶😍🥰
Yeah, at 75 still listen to most all their masterpieces
When the songs on your 50 year old album are still cutting edge you are one of the best.
Ex-actly right!
Amen....
Het huist in je ziel forceer!! With Love. L
Het woont in je ziel ook liefde

The whole band writes incredible lyrics - not to mention the music....... 55 years on, this the only band I never get tired of.
Well said..m.s.
Perfectly stated!!!!!
The talent level in this band is simply incredible.
They all had PhDs in music - very talented.
Justin Hayward and John Lodge we key members as is evidenced by their later collaboration as the Blue Jays. All were talented.
In an age where we are questioning consciousness more than ever, the words to In The Beginning are more profound to me that when I was a fourteen year old listening to this. Brilliant for these young men at the time to create this! Love to The Moody's and their fans!
They are so appropriate to all the government control, etc!
The worlds smallest symphony band!
Nothing short of Astounding and Amazing
I was turned on to the Moody Blues by my girl friend in 1971. Love them still today
still amazing after 50+ years!!!
No one really compares to this band oh there’s plenty of great bands but
the creative force in their thought provoking songs is a legacy for all humanity. ❤️
so True....they help us REMEMBER who/what we truly ARE....they can cure your AMNESIA here in this dream Earth-life were presently in...IF your ready for it...some of us are AWAKE..but unforetunitly ...most are still sleeping through their lives...WAKE UP!!!
Pink Floyd came close with Dark Side of the Moon.
Timely...
Queen is up there, too.
They're mor tailor made for 🇺🇸
Absolutely love the Moody Blues' music! Classic rock. One of the most underrated bands of all time.
Thank you, Albion (Great Britain) for your leading contribution to The Rock Revolution.
...No other has given so much to humanity and brought the people closer to each other.
Moody Blues is a Great example!
How can 95 people not like this?
Threshold of a dream ....... early teens lay down dark room and enjoy.
No drugs needed and never used.
Deep sleep.
If you don't have this album ,your collection is not complete.
Moody Blues just never gets old...
I am new among the Moody Blues fans, but, wow, this is incredible! Great we have LPs and CDs. Bands come and go, people die, but great art stays. It is up to us to preserve it for next generations.
I haven’t listened to this in 40 years. It made me cry.
I just saw John Lodge last month and he was awesome. So glad he is keeping Moody Blues' songs alive
Inspiration, explorers of effects and colors of sound. What an ensemble of poetry, voices, choirs, portraits of a time. Extraordinary band. True musicians creating true and eternal music.
The decades may have passed but this music still has no equal !!!
Indeed
Amen...
there is nothing today that even comes close!
But Joan Jett gets in the R&R HOF ahead of them?
Timeless!!
Amazing piece of music so far ahead of its’ time. This band is one of the best.
Without Question!!!!!
Yes they are!
I'm blown away where have I been
Not ahead of its time -- there for all time.
Their music was so original for the time. I will keep listening forever...
Their music creates a mystical childlike euphoria inside me...I recall all of the good memories from childhood and adolescent years.. I feel warmth listening to the moody blues...and safe
yes
"mystical childlike euphoria"
👍👏
I thank God for music like this and the artists who created it!!!
Listening to this, I can't help but think that the world has lost a great flute player in Ray Thomas. Rest in Peace, Ray. You brought a lot of joy to a lot of listeners.
Although, the flutist that Justin Hayward and the guys(those who are left), are now using is good. She just doesn't compare to Ray Thomas. I was fortunate to have seen him in concert in Saratoga Springs, NY. And I have to believe that he is finally relaxing in Heaven, but still playing, but this time for God! Rest In Peace, Ray Thomas. You can tell that he put his whole heart into the songs that he played!
thank you to the moody blues for this lovely song and to all of their hits
Absolutely awesome story man. Your dad will never forget that as long as he lives. And if you still got it that's a great momento to hang on too
I was in high school from 68-72 and had an older brother who turned me on to all the great lp's from this amazing group. One of the all time great bands for sure!!!
Was in hs also from 68-72. Lived in a rural area where the FM signal just didn't quite reach. Had only heard " Nights in White Satin" in '71 before I went to college in fall '72. Got exposed to the "Core 7" there.
The rest is history.
Me too.
My exact story, same years, older brother. Thank you Mike for showing me the Moodies. RIP.
"On the Threshold of a Dream" is an incredible album. Many of the songs are classics. 69-72 for me. Such an under appreciated band. "Dear Diary" is one of my favorites, off of it. . . . . Inside me, yours truly, Dear Diary. . . . .
Got too see them live one of the best show's i saw tripping on mescalin
My 2 cents worth: CONGRATULATIONS MOODY BLUES FOR MAKING THE BEST STONER, TRIPPING VIDEO I HAVE EVER SEEN!! BRAVO!!
No words can say what this album does for me and has for 49 Years now....
ditto!
That's why we have music.
My music spans from the 40s big bands 2 Mozart & most in between
I had the Honor to see them preform in Buffalo NY mid 1970’s
Great Show
Thank You for the Memories
RIP Ray Thomas
@@bethsherdell2413 I'm been an fan for as long as I can remember. I was off the charts happy when the got into the Hall.
.
Thank You So Very Much!!! I,m in my 60s and it is so awesome to hear moody blues again!! It reawakens the beauty that has been buried from this life!! I feel alive again!!
It doesn't get any better than that. Mike Pinder, Justin Hayward, John Lodge, Ray Thomas (May he rest in peace), Graeme Edge, God bless the Moody Blues!
I am happy I had the opportunity to see these guys three times in my life. Could never figure out how they didn't hold the same popularity as Pink Floyd etc.
Too clueless to understand the message. That's what "Dear Diary" is trying to convey.
@@bdickinson6751 you got that right...how do you tell a fish what its like to live on the land? you can't...most folks are still BLIND to REALITY...
because they were never as good as Pink Floyd
From what I read, I don't believe they wanted the kind of popularity that broke the Beatles. They wanted to be able to live their lives AND create great music.
From 67-72 they were more popular than Pink Floyd. Sold more albums had bigger tours. They took a 5 year hiatus, and Pink Floyd simply exploded with some all time great music. They were never the same after Mike Pinder left the group.
So far ahead of their time..The lyrics..the musical talent..the vocals..if you can’t appreciate the Moodies then we’ll.. i truly feel for ya..seen em three times and just the best. Ty
Tenho 71 anos e não me canso de ouvir, quando para isso tenho oportunidade!
Loving singing this... hope my neighbour doesn't mind
I am a Moddy Blues junkie. I have been fortunate enough to see them in concert several times.
They still can crank out a great concert, but I really miss Ray.
This music puts me in a great mood, they are truly a great band
Face piles of trials with smiles, I still remember that from 40 years ago!
That they were delayed the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for so long is an abomination.
I CONCUR 100 percent ❤❤❤❤❤ been a fan since the song GO NOW. Pre Justin Hayward and John Lodge! I'm dating myself lol omg LMBO! Long Live Moody Blues fan's
Thank you Joe, ahh Such GRAND Memories.
So Young , Beautiful , And That Touch Of New Found Freedom. 🤠🖖
I kept writing the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame of why they haven't put Moody Blues at their top of list and then they finally inducted the Moody Blues.. long overdue
I love what Jay Sands had to say..."the Moody Blues have been my religion....". Well, I feel that way, too. I've been listening for more than 50 years and they still evoke such beauty and spirituality in their songs/albums with their gorgeous lyrics, beautiful vocals and superb musicianship. They make my soul soar. I will love them forever.
brought me to SPIRITUALITY - The Great Pyramid gave me a College Education
Mine to (religion) 67 yrs old and will love them till the end of my time.
Mine too.

👍👍👍👍🎶🎶🎶🍷🍷🍷🍷
Best concert ever. A hot summer night in West Palm Beach, FL. The surreal experience surpassed any other performance I have ever seen, and that is many. Truly Legendary and relevant to this day!
Grew up with The Moody Blues always love them
People couldn't sit still for music like this. I was star struck by them ELP Yes. On and on and on. Never again will a generation experience such icons as these the beatles the stones. Lucky man.
Edit. How could i forget the Pink?
this will never grow old,it is allways a new beginnning i grock moody blues
Moody Blues is helping me to understand more clearly now. They are bringing me alive in a new way. The one we all are finding. ❤️
1972 is when I really got into listening to Moody Blues....blew my mind and was hooked
My very first concert, what a great begining! It was at the Chicago Stadium and I was 17, I caught a punch meant for my date and went home with a black eye. What a memory!
Lovely to see you again my friend Such a great song
When I was 14 this album saved my life and gave me a new incite on my life x
Fantastic memories still the best ....
My sister and I just saw Justin in concert and he sounded amazing…now I’m 60 and my sister 53 so it’s not like we grew up with this music but it’s truly a masterpiece of a band, the Moody Blues ❤
Definitely helps if you’re smoking a 5 skinner at the time. Absolutely brilliant music.
How can you not like these three great songs in this order because they should never be played in any other order !
You JUST CAN'T!! I AGREE. 🤠🖖
The Mike Pinder years draw to a glorious close. Emphasis on the word "glorious".
RIP Graeme Edge. Thanks for the music.
the most magical of bands ,thank you for making my life a lot more wonderful.
The two disc compilation set "This is the Moody Blues" is genius, includes these tunes
First album I ever owned...
Their music is so inspirational, back then, and currently in today's craziness! Got to see them in Saint Louis at two concerts at the old Saint Louis Arena (where the Blues did their hockey games) 1970, & 1971? Anyway, never got mixed up into a bad crowd, nor hard drugs, nor heavy drinking. Whew! Was lucky as hell! Survived all of those times. Loved them then, and still love them to this day.
🗣💨💨💨💨 🙂
What a small world. I saw them there also. Just amazing. Trapeze opened for them the first time and were great as well. Charlie Star opened the second time and had the whole crowd singing "Jump down, turn around, pick a bale of cotton" along with him. The definition of surrealism.
Nicely done Joe! Really shows the influence of Ray, also.
Great vid Joe. The legacy of this band shall live on!
awesome video..the moody blues have been my religion for so many years they have helped me survive so many trials and tribulations...their spirituality surpasses any sermon from any preacher...ever!...thanks for taking the time for this video..great job.
I feel the same.
i believe the combination of the two makes it work. Moodies led me to Scripture when it come down to love.
every band is a religion of its own.
i fully agree..The moodies are my religion too! True/ pure spirituality in a musical form that we all can enjoy...again+again...luv these guys!!

This was the first album I bought and I still have it. I love the Moody Blues
Wonderful day, passing my way, knock on my door, even the score with your eyes. Lovely to see you again my friend! Walk along with me to the next bend.
Saw the Moodies way back in the day..such a trip man...so good
These guys just freaking rock and alot of people don't listen ,why?
Justin once said that "we weren't for everybody". That was probably a polite way of saying that not everybody is at a higher level of awareness to understand where they were coming from.
We appreciate your posting music like this must never be forgotten
Face pyles of trials with smiles ...it riles ....keep on thinking free....what a great line
Photographed them in early 80s for a music magazine, was a highlight in my concert experience,
I was an early fan of the Moody's. from their first album, "Go Now." Still have all their LP's and play them often.
Fell in love with the MOODY BLUES while stationed in Germany with the US Army 1970-72
Someone exploded an H-bomb today, but it wasn't anybody I knew 🤣🤣 what an amazing line!
been listening to them for over 50 yrs and still do,never get tired of listening to them ,Love them !!
I loved this album in 1970 🇺🇸 💙 🎶🎶🎵🎶 🎶🎶🎵
My first real exposure to the Moody Blues was in Autumn 1966 when I was 12 and starting to get into music and would go to sleep with the transistor radio tuned on WKBW. “Go Now” got airplay as an “oldie”. Not much was heard until Summer 1968 when “Tuesday Afternoon” charted, I grabbed the single and later got their “Days of Future Past” in 1970.
But it was in High School in 1971 where I was truly turned on their their albums which needed to be heard in their entirety, partly because their selections are all merged into one but mainly because everything is so incredible!
michael mckenna I was 15 in 1966 and like you fell hard with their first song! Have been a lifelong fan and still own all their albums on vinyl!😍
EXCELLENT & Not Forgotten!!!!
Un LP che comprai all'epoca e che non mi stanco mai di ascoltare....magnifico!!!
What a great transition from the space poem "In the Beginning" followed by the more uptempo "Lovely To See You Again" and the more laid back "Dear Diary". I like how the Moody Blues had different singers with different styles but well blended harmonies.
One of best underrated song in rock Fab.
Cut my teeth on this music. My dad's music. I'm 52!
Love the flute like Jethro Tull!
Still alive today, because he didn't know we played his records!!!
They were a band before their time!
Yes, especially now….in this era of change from human to computational! I’m old but I tear up for those who follow!
Whatever you got it, this is one of the best mixes - and a proper copy job, the notes are delightfully clear and present. 🙂
Bravo to Ray and his excellent flute ...Ray ~ RIP
Excellent job w/video.
The Moodies first album changed me and my musical perceptions forever.
After listening to Moody Blues all these years I’ve never heard these songs before! Brilliant ❤️
I agree I'm enjoying them again in my 67th year of life.
They set the standard for my favorite music. Symphonic Progressive Rock.
Always come back to these great songs.
Every time I hear them, it's like the first. Just blown away by the beauty.
Got all there albums from the beginning... legends..
The Moody Blues and the Floyd, with Yes were the Go-to bands for mental excursions @ parties and just being with like minded travellers back in the late 60-1970`s.Now Ihave added Porcupine Tree/S Wison to that list.@70 can do as I please.
One of the Happest Songs....
Lovely too See You Again ✌😎
In the 90s I worked for a small local music magazine in Vegas, I got to take pics of Moody Blues up front, I still have these pics, also did quite a few other bands, which I won't elaborate on, good Xs
Well, WELL WELL DONE!!!!!!!!
Ahh....the memories of when this came out, and we played it over and over again!!! ........"HAPPY TRAILS"!!!! :)
One of my favourite moodies songs......
When listening to dear diary,in the beginning and so on I jump back to my teenage with the same feelings now at my 72.
There you go man
Keep as cool as you can
Face piles of trial with smile
It riles them to believe that you perceive the webs they weave.
AND KEEP THINKING FREE!
Boy do those words address today’s gov’t...
