- Final curtain call for the Tony-winning 2017-18 Broadway production of HELLO, DOLLY!, starring Bette Midler. August 25, 2018, at the Shubert Theatre in NYC.
This was a magnificent production that deserved to run for another 20 years.

I saw bette and met her at the stage doot when i saw it in previews she was a class act she looked tired but came around the barracades and shook hands with almost everyone including me and met David Hyde pierce and gavin creel such class acts and down to earth people

Saw this amazing cast over the summer; it was for my 16th birthday and first broadway show I’d ever seen. It was amazing ❤️
Saw Bette Midler in this show in Jan and August...thrill of a lifetime. What a great performance by all of the cast.
Glad I saw it with Midler, Creel, and Pierce ... the 3 best , stellar cast 😍
We were lucky enough to see Bette and Bernadette. Both were truly remarkable in their own way. I loved Bette's performance, but Benadette's broke my heart.

How sweet of Bette to put her arm around David's shoulder at 1.41 instead of linking his arm as usual.
It must have been an emotional moment for all the company.

I was lucky to see it with Bette Midler the best Dolly out of the three and also with most of the original cast in toe/tact all in all was Fabulous only regret bought tickets 8/4 evening on a Saturday and would have loved to see the finale 8/25 at 8pm oh well 😔 no tickets in the 200 range just premium and did want to pay 400+ per TX! Limits even if it’s Bette 😂... anyway, cool closing and cool clip!!!! I enjoyed seeing her live so 👌 ! Unfortunately, the show closed way too soon 😢.

I agree as well, I think they could’ve added at least another year to their run. But I don’t think Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce would want to do another year. Plus Broadway revivals don’t last very long. I mean carousel is closing next month. I’m glad I got to see this earlier this summer.
i saw it too! just incredible. i wish she would take it on the road. hell, she did her Vegas act for years. but i understand she's older and gets tired. so, Scott Rudin has to step in and make it a movie.
There is a national tour going out. No Bette Middler though.

I saw her in Toronto shopping in The St.Lawrence Mkt.where I worked.She walked towards me and I gave her a polite bow and she smiled back at me. She admired my restraint but I wanted to yell OMG!

I'm sure this was recorded at some time during the run. I hope it shows up on PBS. Maybe after Betty Buckley finishes the touring dates.
I don't think it was. I'm disappointed Bette Midler isn't bringing the show to LA. Buckley will do it there, but she's not the star that Bette is.

The date listed was the finale and it was an emotional night . Gavin Creel cried during performance
and Bette was as usual giving her all at one point joking with the audience!

It looks like they could fall into that orchestra pit…lordy.
A year late to this - but just as in the productions with the OG Gower Champion staging and choreography, there's protective netting over the orchestra pit which will protect the 28 or so musicians below.
She's no Carol Channing that's for sure. But she is campy. I'll give her that.
She sings better than Carol Channing but they are both campy which is good.
I may be in the minority. But I didn't think Midler was that great. I saw Carol Channing in her last run of Dolly and even clearly aged, she gave a far better performance than Midler, and there was strong emotion thru out the theatre that was not present in this latest run.

What the F are you talking about? She doesn't oppose gay marriage at all! She is and has always been one of the biggest and loudest supporters of the gay community. She performed on the last day of World Pride in NY, and was one of the biggest fund raisers during the AIDS epidemic. What planet are you living on?
Yep I was right! That show did not last as much as she wanted to. Just like her show in Las Vegas.... ha ha ha Dolly has gone and left the building y'all!
Not sure what you're talking about. Bette left DOLLY! in January 2018, and she only came back to close it. It's not a matter of lasting as long as she wanted it to, since she was already done with it.
That's right, her contract finished in Jan '18 and she and DHP only came back to close the show for the last month. If audience reaction is anything to go by it could have run and run.
Such talent was bad she insulted half of her fans when she went political.
