- The Great Ocean Road is Australia's iconic road and one of the world's most scenic coastal routes. Apart from the scenic twisty roads that are a pure joy to ride on a motorcycle, the region has a lot to offer. This episode is from the beginning of my Great Ocean Road adventure, and I'm taking you to the Cape Otway Lighthouse.
This motovlog is from my Australian tour on Husqvarna Norden 901.

Hi Kinga, If you were wondering, why all the dead trees?? Drop Bears (Koalas). I have friends with a farm on Cape Otway road, and as you may have noticed there are a lot of Koalas in the forest there. A few years ago there was an overpopulation of Koalas in the forest, and a lot of the trees in the forest are Manna gums, the leaves of which the Koalas love. The Koalas where completely stripping all the leaves from the Manna Gums, which kills the tree, thus all the dead trees, goes to show koalas are almost as intelligent as humans ;-)
Thanks for showing us the Great Ocean Road on a bike. I've done it a few times but yet on a motorcycle. Also thanks for mentioning the dangers of Drop Bears. They don't get mentioned enough! 🐨

My favourite road is over Kosciuszko, better than Great Ocean Road for bikers. Start from Cooma and head towards Tumut.
