12:10 if you put a player in spectator and do the command /spectate you can put the player onto a display entity which can rotate its camera in every angle so you can actually rotate the camera, and in the next update they are adding WASD, space bar, and shift detection (purely from a single command) so you could probably make antigravity work.
You're correct about the new input detection system, and the controls are *so much better* with them. The display entity spectating thing is not true, though. When spectating a display entity, the only relevant data is the display entity's Pos and Rotation nbt, not any of its transformation nbt. The transformation nbt only affects the actual visual display of the item or block being displayed.

i feel like it would be a cool idea to take advantage of the players sticking together. maybe to perhaps make the mariokart datapack but with double dash physics. it would probably be very fun and chaotic at the same time.
I’d love to have a Mario Kart kart in regular Minecraft, I think that’d be awesome. I’d probably use a texture pack that turns it into a pipe frame or something though.
