ERRATUM : In 0:35 onwards, we mistakenly mentioned that Caitlin Clark was the first WNBA player to achieve 500 points and 200 assists in a single season. This is an error. What we meant was she was the FASTEST to achieve this milestone by doing this in only 29 games. Thank you to our loyal viewer for pointing this out!

She will break Stewie's rookie record of 20, 5, 5 games next. Caitlin has 11, Stewie had 12. Then it will be fastest rookie to 600 points. In the last couple games she will break Alyssa Thomas' assist record. She will also pass Aja Wilson for 2nd place in rookie points and may become #1 if she averages about 20.2 per game. Some of this is assuming they don't rest her in the last game for the playoffs.

the 'W' won't even consider her for MVP unless the FEVER beats ACES both times (and they still probably won't give it to her)

She is showing the other woman that they need to step up. We see why the other women hate her. They, now, see that they must actually play and not just run up and down a court.
The WNBA need her, more than she needs them. Clark is hated because she has shown that the WNBA was a club, and not taking itself serious. If the game doesn't step up, they will show their hypocrisy of equality.

I am based in the UK & have never watched any WMBA games prior to the arrival of Caitlin.
I was of the belief that they were an organisation run by a mafia.
I now watch all highlights from all her matches. I see how she is a team member who helps her team to score points rather than doing an Angel Reese & Stat Padding.
She could have a higher point score if she was selfish. Further if her team mates caught the opportunities she gives them? Then they would be unbeatable!
    Respects Caitlin

Caitlyn Clark is not playing the same game as Michael Jordan. Different 3-point line. Different defenders. Why can't the media give her the credit she deserves without comparing her performance to men's basketball greats; Jordan, Maravich and others. I'll bet dollars to donuts that Clark would not be happy about this sort of "comparison." Just give her the praise she is due and leave men's play out of it. It's just wrong.

    • @BasketballTopStories
      @BasketballTopStories  16 дней назад +2

@user-vb1su1rt3q you're right - when it is all said and done... eras are different, rules are different, style of play is different, teammates / opponents are different. @@jackrobinson8328I don’t need to see CC be able to takeoff from the foul line and fly to the hoop!! And the comparison to all time greats even technically different MAKES IT FUN anyway! BUT in general it IS comparable! Leave that be! What I want - having the tall forwards like Nalyssa, Temi, and even Boston be able to dunk!!! Can you foresee how incredibly fun and mind blowing that would be? CC finding a wide open Boston and she takes 4 steps to the hoop and slams down the ball????!!!

You might remember that in her first 10 games or so her teammates had no idea how to run the floor and could not catch a pass....not expecting it to come. NOW they have all caught on and she will get the ball to them if they get open and wake up. So kids who were pretty good are now MUCH better. Her vision, team play and IQ have made all the difference. And she can still sink you with her Steph Curry shooting if needed. KIds like Mitchel , Hull and Boston have a new life and a chance to shine on what was the worst team in WNBA...hence the first draft pick..What is the difference? Pretty obvious.

Attitude, tenacity, natural skill, unbiased and unphased by anything or anyone outside of her sharp, defined vision of next play. Kobe said Curry was an assassin. Played in the moment. Caitlan is not focused on plays behind her and has a keen ability to stratigize quickly best move forward in a moment. Her passes are thrilling to watch. Such skills can not be taught. But what she's doing is clearly also in a league of her own. And maybe she is the right player for this Era of Women's Basketball. When she hangs up her sneakers, we hope she is not only the WNBA goat but also ushers in a new era for the league and future girls. This is what I'm talking about she might be the rookie of the year but she is far from being the MVP she is nowhere close to at least 10 to 15 players in the league let's just stop all the madness Madness yes she is a hell of a basketball player but stop trying to make her the best person in the league at this point right now because she is not there are many other women out there who run circles around Kaitlyn Clark

Last time I recall Caitlin Clark did not get popular in college for assist she got popping up because the depth of her three-point shooting but if we look at her percentage of 3-point shooting that has not transitioned well I'm not saying she's a bad player because she is really good let's stop with all the nonsense and getting popular confused with the most talented player

@@MrThespianatheart Partly right but mainly wrong. Clark had a big say in tactics with the Hawkeyes while Martin was the Captain. Bluder also gave her quite a free reign on the court. She led the Hawkeyes to consecutive NCAA Division I women's basketball championships. I hardly think this is from just scoring three-pointers.

Chrsty Sides is holding Clark back, like Dean Smith did with Michael Jordan during his play at UNC! Sides will bench Clark for no good reason! She is by far the best floor general in the league, she reads the floor like no other women in basketball. She has court vision that compares to Magic Johnson and Larry Bird , and they always had the ball in their hands. When they wanted the ball they got it! Well they only won 8 NBA Championships between the 2 and that was accomplished in 11 years

Caitlin / MJ. MJ / Caitlin. Caitlin/Curry. Curry/Caitlin. What player has ever been literally compared to major Ledge level superstars of a sport and talk going from being big just the best rookie of the year, player, MVP, Comparable to, a Record breaking Monster who is even taking out Long standing Legends of the games records Men’s and Women’s basketball. But she isn’t just breaking those records she is shattering them beyond recognition and making them actually almost impossible unattainable in either Men’s or Women’s basketball. Caitlin Clark is doing the unthinkable. She is actually unifying both WNBA and NBA records. When the next time any record is broken in either Men’s or Women’s basketball they will have to break her records. Think about that.
There is no debate no. If the WNBA doesn’t award Caitlin Clark Every single player award for this season then they are not worthy the time of day. Then Caitlin should go and play for the NBA.

Carlin is an incredibly women’s player, but it’s not fair to her to try to compare her to men. If she was playing against men and doing what she is doing against women then you would have absolutely valid point but she is not. Again this young woman is absolutely incredible and a great example and blessing to women’s basketball and to society. God keep her safe. But don’t get it twisted she is not playing against men and should not be compared to men it’s not fair to her. Shalom and Aloha

@rickyamous4689 you're right - when it is all said and done... eras are different, rules are different, style of play is different, teammates / opponents are different. But what she's doing is clearly also in a league of her own. And maybe she is the right player for this Era of Women's Basketball. When she hangs up her sneakers, we hope she is not only the WNBA goat but also ushers in a new era for the league and future girls. Some of us grew up wanting to be like Mike and hopefully future girls want to grow up like her too. Thanks for your comment, check out our other videos in the channel, and see you in the next video!

I love Caitlin's game, but this is the dumbest take I've heard, bar none. Almost as bad as people comparing her career college points total to Pete Maravich. Pete had no 3-point line, averaged 44.2 points per game, and set the men's record in 83 games (since freshman didn't play). Caitlin was great, but only averaged 28.4 points per game. A definite apple to oranges comparison.

If she can turn the WMBA into a profitable enterprise and raise the average salaries in the league, more young girls will aspire to play pro basketball. As it stands now, the pay is so poor that most girls with a second career path will take that other path. It could cause a snowball effect raising the popularity of the game forever, just like Magic and Bird did for the NBA in the 80s. What would be really great if some other player arose to be her rival as people might lose interest in just Caitlin. Angel Reese isn't it unless she learns to shoot, being pretty and grabbing her own rebounds only gets her so far.

And she is the most guarded player i have ever seen and she still has great games. Her own coach has slowed her down, she takes her out of games by benching her or calling plays so Clark doesn't touch the basketball!
