DLC maps scale to your level. If you do it earlygame, then the enemy units will be in basic classes, but if you do it later then they'll all be promoted units, carry Silver/Brave Weapons and Bolganone tomes. This also means they always give ludicrous kill EXP though
Camilla once the fliers turn into griffins it practically feels impossible without either sacrificing units or just wait til post game and running in with broken af emblem weapons.
@@RaidenKaiser I did Camilla's paralogue very late into the game (around ch 23 or so) on maddening classic and it was by far the biggest slog fest. 5:45 No, aside from how it would hit two spaces and freeze (like all offensive gambits in 3H) the enemies in 3H that's still assembly gambit. Reversal would hit two spaces and swap your positions with the enemy afterward. Assembly was like a forceful draw back and reversal was like a forceful swap on the enemy. Funny thing about reversal is that it has a really annoying bug from 1.10 onward in 3H that makes it the most finicky gambit in the game (and possibly the worst because of that).
For weapon sync on Edelgard, they just have their standard weapon type and you can basically just put them on a character that can use axes and bows or some shit for the best odds of being able to use weapon sync regularly
That and if you buy weapon sync you can put it on someone who’s weapon is always going to match the emblem like Alcryst with Lyn or magic emblems on mages (really good since there aren’t any “tome power” skills)
*sees title* Hyped af! Your guides and thought process on all the units is great and I'm super excited to see how the dlc changes things for you. Of note - you also do have to have Anna's paralogue completed AFAIK to access divine paralogues.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the dlc as you play through it. I personally find it insanely broken to the point I would welcome a significantly harder fourth difficulty. You saw how absurd the free items were, but then all the emblems are all top tier emblems too. But the biggest offense is how much exp you gain by completing the 6 dlc maps. Your team will be ready to take on Sombron by the time you reach chapter 15. And now with the well on top of this... I desperately want a maddening+ difficulty
The one thing about the extra xp I’ve noticed after my second playthrough using it, is that because you end up over leveled you end up getting drastically less on most units on normal missions, and so by like chapter 18-20 ish, it starts to even put, and by 23 I was basically only 1 or 2 levels higher at most on any given unit.
Three house ring is broken on a flyer due to shield gambit. If you get the ring in the early game after the fog chapter and give it to Chloe, then you're pretty much set. She can pretty much turns into a nuke and destroys even knights. Dimitri's and Claude's combat arts are pretty good if you need them because Dimitri's weapon is good for killing in one turn while Claude's bow is for enemy turn to dodge. Raging storm, I don't use it all of that much because the axe is a smash weapon and the combat art depletes your engage meter quickly. If dlc rings were allowed in the engage tier list, then I believe the ring would be A tier. Pros: Best availability, no prologue to do, great offense, great Engage attack, shield gambit gives the finger to 2-ranged enemies(especially bow users), and lineage is good to take for early to mid-late game. Cons: Claude's and Edglard's gambits are not great to use because Claude is poison which makes it the worst gambit out of the three lords and Edglard is burning which is ok at best for blocking enemies or take away some hp if needed; Random gambit is RNG so it can be annoying and mess up your plans. Raging storm is ok, but not something to depend on, and the other two combat arts like I mentioned above can use up your meter when engaged.
On the DLC maps with heavy reinforcements, just spawn camp them until they stop appearing. This one is the worst of them all. I had to spawn camp for 30 turns. I made sure to bring Alcryst so he could shoot down those nasty ass dragons. I wanted to run two bows but I didn't have any other good bow user at the time. Dire Thunder Citrinne also was a hard carry. The reinforcements gave me XP so it was more than worth it. My team joined Tiki's playtime as boys but they came back as men.
Tikis Paralouge is set up to be done while you still have Marth. Meanwhile Hectors map seems to be set up for after you've received Lyn. However they are completely optional, and the difficulty matches your armies level. And these maps are incredibly easy pre-chapter 10, due to the enemy units not being promoted.
Easier for sure, but I still found most of the dlc missions harder than anything chapters 1-10 throw at you on maddening. None of the 1-10 chapters really have anything special going on to make them drastically different from a standard map, whereas at least the dlc maps have specific mechanics on each one that change them up
The paralogues are way more difficult than most of the regular chapters. Hector and tiki are probably the easiest followed by soren and some say Veronica. Also the stronger your units the stronger the dlc maps so usually the earlier the better. Late game dlc on maddening expects your units to be optimized for the map.
A bit unfortunate there's no way to voluntarily opt out of dlc once you acquire it, but I think it makes sense to explore dlc now that you've exhausted most of what the base game offers you. After 5+ playthroughs I think it definitely is reasonable to transition to creating dlc content now
Weapon sync is basically all Sword. Its the weapon the emblem holds when they are summoned the first time. So even Sigurd is sword because he holds Tyrfing
Yeah Edelgard is so cracked. Weapon sync is super crazy and the combat arts and houses unite engage attack (especially when next to Byleth) just deletes everything. You can use combat arts to take away engage turns in order to get another engage attack and combat arts again. You get raging storm (yes it gives you another turn), atrocity, and fallen star, which just lets you avoid everything no matter what
In my opinion Hector and Soren are the best DLC bracelets, Hector is a tank's saviour which makes any slow but strong unit playable with quick riposte effectively being another version of the halberdier skill that's arguably easier to activate. As long as their above certain health thresholds they automatically double on enemy phase, I used him on a goldmary general with engraved and buffed Brionac and she one rounded most things. Combine that skill with Vantage and its + variants and your just straight laughing. Then the Soren Pseudo Nos-tanking with just way better tomes than Nos is probably the most crazy. Like any half decent mage with Soren becomes a map soloing machine. It's mad. And anything they don't kill they debuff with a different debuff according to which element tome they used because of his anima ability.
Edelgard/Rivals is the straightforward offensive focus emblem Roy wished he could be. Especially since their bond comes with level 20 unlocked by default earlygame if you arena the bond their offensive options and base damage are crazy early on.
Here are some of my thoughts about the DLC and of Maddening in general. 1) Besides being forced to take the expansion items the DLC has nothing to really complain about as most of the bracelets you have to earn and I only find Tiki's and Three houses to be strong and generally useful so far (still need to use wave 3 to see how I feel about those) and find with the rest bracelet at least half of the base game rings are better. 2) Playing through my first maddening run for this game to compare the differences with hard and unlock random mode since the unlocks only apply per difficulty, I feel like this is one of only a few Maddening/lunatic modes in FE that are actually balanced to be difficult but fair (balanced in anyway) such as Fates and Engage due to overall balance being good unlike most FE maddening mode after FE10 where they just stat inflate to a degree that they either become entirely too tedious to play or unplayable. 3) I didn't need the gifts to play the game as I didn't spend that much money or resources on my runs so far except to experiment later on when I just had a bunch on money I didn't even know what to do with (I got the DLC day 1 thinking I can just not take those items just make use of the new bracelets to play around with) as you don't really need to upgrade a lot of weapons to get through the game but they help with one rounding on certain characters. In conclusion, Maddening in Engage is actually enjoyable on fixed mode since the devs actually considered balancing when making their maddening mode, the game really should update the game to have the option to take expansion goodies or not which I think is the actual legitimate issue Engage's DLC has and that some people think that maddening in this game is too easy are too used to play bullshit difficult modes from fe11 onwards somehow don't understand that it isn't easy they are just experienced.
"at least they are expensive" wish i could see his reaction to Chrom + Alcryst. Also, Edelgard is broken in that you can unlock Failnaught with bond fragments as soon as you get the bracelet, and put it on Chloe.
I can't believe you have put so many hours into this game and only now you are first seeing the DLC. Have fun with it, I really liked some of the DLC maps. This looks like postgame though, I only experienced the DLC maps in the middle of the story campaign as soon as they became available, not sure how the scaling is affected. All I know is I definitely wasn't able to wipe out that annoying mage in one turn with Chloe being the only flier and not even an upgraded unit yet :)
My first Maddening run after Wave 2 was I put a rule on myself that I couldn’t do the divine paralogues until I got the corresponding Emblem Ring, like I couldn’t do Soren until I got Ike. But yeah. Weapon Sync is kinda busted. Basically, as long as the weapon you’re using matches the weapon type of the Emblem, you get the bonus (for example Dmitri is Lance, Claude is Bow, and Edelgard is Axe). This is made even more nasty when you consider a bond 20 bracelet gives +5 strength, meaning physical based characters get essentially +12 attack.
Edelgard is easily one of the best bracelets which suprises me on how you get her so easily basically you'll get paired up with a different house leader each turn which will provide a different type of bonus. Claude: Attack a nearby enemy and poison all enemies adjacent to it, Dimitri: Blocks all ranged attacks for the first hit,Edelgard: Create fire after attacking. They get even better when they're engaged though Weapon sync is so nutty basically if your engaged with Edelgard and you use Amyr you get an attack boost vice verse with the other two with Failnaught and Arhendbhar. Each weapon also provides a pretty goof combat art. Tiki is really good I used her with Chloé and she just kills everything I can send out into the front lines and she'll be fine. Ontop of that you essentially get yo make your units boss units 😂 with a revival stone. Hector + Diamant also a broken pair up carried me through my entire playthrough but all in All bracelets break the game lol
I find one of the best uses for Edelgard is actually early game help. Shield gambit lets you bait enemies safely and flame gambit is a very early access to terrain creation. Poison gambit is meh to me tbh. Point being there's generally always something you can do with the bracelet to improve your situation which makes me value it highly in the early game.
Ah yes, you will become a witness of the new class called the soren tank, where you add vantage++ and speedtaker to ivy and have her solo maps, doubling and healing all damage without giving enemies a chance to retaliate.
Poison gambit and starfall are pretty busted imo Also, I believe Tikis paralog scakes with you. And the reinforcements are predictable. They spawn in the same location and can easily be delt with before you enter the base. I recomend camping the reinforcements spawn.
Shield Gambit is insane as well against groups of mages and bows that don't double you. Infinite tanking + javelin or something just destroys enemy phase ranged units.
I think you read the description for assembly gambit wrong it works the same just doesn’t freeze enemies. Also weapon sync works with multiple weapons. I’m pretty sure it even activated when using a sword with edlegards emblem. I think it may be whatever they can give you a profiency for. But I also could be remembering wrong havebt tested.
the divine paralogues scale to your current level, map units also change based on when you do the map too Best time for Tiki would be after you have 2+ master seals, a good bow user that can reliably one shot the special ice wyverns, and before chapter 10. The first thief is a super unit for Tiki and super unit thief on an avoid tile. Shiny thing on tiki map is the silver card for 30% item/weapon shop discounts (does not work for clothing and forge). The other divine paralogues do them after you have Corrin and Seadall, you especially don't want to do the divine paralogues on maddening too late in the game because the AI gets stupidly strong. And with how exp works on maddening, if you do divine paralogues before base game paralogues, you won't be over leveled since the base game paralogues don't scale to your level so it will neutralize out for late game. for tiki's healing and recovery effect, it is wait without doing any action whatsoever. So it is decent, but not as good as you may think, while quality time is free aoe healing that applies no matter what you do which makes quality time a lot better three houses ring weapons are axe, lance, or bow and the ultimate attack is enhanced if you use it while standing next to an engaged byleth
My own impressions of the DLC. Tiki map is great. Robin Map is fairly clever. Hector, Veronica maps are kinda mid. Sorens is... a bit long, mildly obnoxious. Camilla's is asking to be warp skipped. PS. do Robin's before Soren's for a better (more challenging) first time experience. Imo, the paralogues are most "enjoyable" to do after unlocking their paired emblem. Eg. Hector after getting Lyn, Robin after getting Lucina, etc. As a bonus you get a small cutscene with them. An exception might be made for Camilla... who you kinda want to do while you still have Michaiah, although tbh it's not that terrible difficulty wise, it's just ... chunky frame wise because of unit density/bad optimization. Since you're chapter 23 though, you have all the emblems so you can literally probably finish it in three or less turns.
The game literally tells you that Soren’s map is annoying and literally tells you that they are telling you that they are manually changing your settings to alleviate it.
Welcome to the fun. I think Hector’s paralogue took me like 5 hours on my maddening run. I could have beat it if I ignored the chests but getting all of it and not losing anyone was a challenge. Chrom and Robin was tough too
Fun fact. The game has a notification that will pop up when entering the somniel after like chapter 7 or so that says that something was discovered at lookout ridge.
Pair Chrom with Yunaka. Brute Force and Surprise Attack have synergy with Yunaka’s personal skill Trained to Kill. Place her on an avoid tile and she pops off.
Edelgarde’s ring is probably the most offensive in the game. I usually give it to a warrior and they can 1 round most things including bosses. The different gambits also provide good utility. And house unit+ is definitely 1 of the most broken unit skills in the game
I've been seeing a lot of people saying that edelgard is really good with chole because not only does she get more strength stats and damage from weapon sync but areadbhar and atrocity is really strong
On maddening, I was able to do Tiki, Camilla, Veronica, and Hector as soon as I got Leif’s emblem. Almost all the DLC is busted, especially Tiki, and 3 Houses; it’s ‘balanced’ around the maps being really tedious to play through and a $30 paywall; there’s a lot of enemy spam and reinforcements.
If it weren't for all the free resources, the dlc would feel balanced nicely. The bracelets are strong but at least have to be earned (minus edelgard, wish she had a map as well) It really makes me wish I could turn off the 30k gold and the 5k SP
Using (Rivals) Edegard/Dimiri/Claude and (Dragons) Tiki and you have a way to Max Stats of your units after a few Second Seals. Then after they are maxed you can inherit other skills. Example MAlear Emblem Veronica but thinking of after he inherits all the skills no Emblem Ring/Bracelet period Divine Dragon Skills Healing Light (Interchangable) Mag/Res +5 (Sorens) HP: 68 Mov: 7 Bld: 13 Str: 42 Mag: 25 (+ inherited Sorens +5 and her full bond level +5) 35 Dex: 37 Spd: 44 Def: 35 Res: 25 (+ Same as Mag and full bond level of +4) 34 Lck: 35 (+ her bond level 6) 41 I thought to have him a little balanced Weapons Wille Glanz +5 Fire Engrave Libération +5 Silver-Spirit Art +5 Mauvier (My second Max Stat unit) (Don't know what emblem though Eirika?) Royal Knight Skills Str/Def +5 (Hector) Spd/Res +5 (Camilla) Hp: 69 Move: 7 Bld: 12 Str: 44 (+5) 49 Mag: 42 Dex: 48 Spd: 38 (+5) 43 Def: 29 (+5) 34 Res: 37 (+5) 42 Lck: 30 Weapons Représailles +5
I feel the Edelgard bracelet is the only reason to go divine Dragon. It circumvent the combat arts turn cost and help you spam engage. I'll be waiting to see how the dlc change your opinion about builds, characters, rings and tactics. Also those early game silver weapons are great well fodder because they are just too heavy for early game units.
DlC is insane. Took me 2 months to figure out tiki paralogue did not have to be rushed since reinforcements are not unlimited lol. Paralogues open up on ch 6 or 7
@@mithos789 agreed, though I couldn’t personally do it until I got Sigurd back. Imagine my surprise or people beating it right away just by abusing two archers at spawn lol. I did 2 full play throughs of rushing boss and holding off reinforcements before I found out they only come from turn 14-35
20 free silver early game is busted, especially with all the gold the DLC gives you too. Weapon Sync is pretty strong, but at least it’s +5 Atk instead of Dmg, then it would absolutely be broken. Same cost as Lunar Brace for probably the same effect
Normally you get a notification upon going to the Somniel that tells you to go to Lookout Ridge because something has been found. Not sure if you missed it or something else.
Kinda wish the other Bracelets werent locked behind Tiki. If you would want to tone it down and only go for 1-2 DLC emblems per run, choosing different ones each time to increase replayability, you still need to beat Tikis map to do so, and thats a ton of off-curve levelups you're forced to gain, which further trivializes the game. I really hope a Maddening+ balanced around having DLC is in development.

Yeah by end of middle-endgame I was getting 1-2 exp for doing literally anything for a good 4-5 or so chapters lol
@@ThatFoxGirl yep, the internal level system seems to do a decent job balancing things for late game.
My team joined Tiki's playtime as boys but they came back as men.
excited to see how you tackle the camilla map
also i think the dlc is cool 😎 possibly even ICED
Omg yesssss finally I can figure out what to do with all the weird abilities lmao thank you for finally doing this 🙏🏼
Will we now see dlc stuff in the next tier list ? Pure upside 😎
Soren after Ike, Chrom after Lucina, and Camilla after Corrin. Just to hear the special dialogue between them is worth it to wait
After 5+ playthroughs I think it definitely is reasonable to transition to creating dlc content now
i tried the dlc and it was too busted. just multiple i win buttons.
The lance is really strong too
ONE OF US ONE OF US
I can't believe you have put so many hours into this game and only now you are first seeing the DLC.
Yeah all the DLC maps scale the enemy classes and levels to your own
My first Maddening run after Wave 2 was I put a rule on myself that I couldn’t do the divine paralogues until I got the corresponding Emblem Ring, like I couldn’t do Soren until I got Ike.
I'm gonna need a guide for Chrom/Robin's paralouge when you get around to it pretty please. That paralouge is single handily kicking my ass
Ah yes, you will become a witness of the new class called the soren tank, where you add vantage++ and speedtaker to ivy and have her solo maps, doubling and healing all damage without giving enemies a chance to retaliate.
It's go time! 😎
Poison gambit and starfall are pretty busted imo
Also, I believe Tikis paralog scakes with you.
Wooooo!!!
From all the content you're making, I'm sure this will be an investment for you.
I think you read the description for assembly gambit wrong it works the same just doesn’t freeze enemies. Also weapon sync works with multiple weapons. I’m pretty sure it even activated when using a sword with edlegards emblem. I think it may be whatever they can give you a profiency for. But I also could be remembering wrong havebt tested.
the divine paralogues scale to your current level, map units also change based on when you do the map too
Best time for Tiki would be after you have 2+ master seals, a good bow user that can reliably one shot the special ice wyverns, and before chapter 10.
So it is decent, but not as good as you may think, while quality time is free aoe healing that applies no matter what you do which makes quality time a lot better
three houses ring weapons are axe, lance, or bow and the ultimate attack is enhanced if you use it while standing next to an engaged byleth
Your Byleth user does not need to be engaged to use Houses Unite+, just adjacent to the Edelgard user.
Congrats on getting the DLC.
Chrom and Robin was tough too
Soren was the hardest for me
@@xenodusk5750 we’ll see how that one goes, I’m waiting until I get Ike to do it because I didn’t get to see his dialogue with Ike first time
Fun fact. The game has a notification that will pop up when entering the somniel after like chapter 7 or so that says that something was discovered at lookout ridge.
Yay lots of new content coming up
Pair Chrom with Yunaka. Brute Force and Surprise Attack have synergy with Yunaka’s personal skill Trained to Kill. Place her on an avoid tile and she pops off.
Great i love not moving my units
I like the sound of your keyboard
Oh btw there's a golden spot at the top of the Tiki paralogue, not gonna tell you what it is or how to get there but you NEED IT ASAP
Since your late in the game some of thoses dlc fights are gonna be the hardest in the game chrom and Robin was insane for for me .
Edelgarde’s ring is probably the most offensive in the game. I usually give it to a warrior and they can 1 round most things including bosses. The different gambits also provide good utility. And house unit+ is definitely 1 of the most broken unit skills in the game
I had the same reaction right off the bat. "Do I really have to Google this?!" Kinda stupid after paying real money.. lol
The silver card on tikis map makes money management so much easier. I can’t believe I missed it on my first run
It's easy to miss, I also missed it until I read about it online.
Coffee got the DLC! Time to play on assisted difficulty!
I'm glad you skipped the cut scenes so that I wouldn't get spoiled too much for the dlcs.
If it weren't for all the free resources, the dlc would feel balanced nicely. The bracelets are strong but at least have to be earned (minus edelgard, wish she had a map as well)
It really makes me wish I could turn off the 30k gold and the 5k SP
Base game rings are easily comparable, other than that I agree.
Using (Rivals) Edegard/Dimiri/Claude and (Dragons) Tiki and you have a way to Max Stats of your units after a few Second Seals. Then after they are maxed you can inherit other skills.

Wait till finds out the phantom ice wyverns can attack you from three spaces through a wall.
The dlc bracelets are fair and balanced with no exploits possible whatsoever
Tiki heal can go up to 40 with enough bond, it gets really weird for tanking a spot
Paralogues open up on ch 6 or 7
its better if you do rush it.
@@mithos789 nah it’s tons of free exp for your early archers
@@dsch772 i dont like spending 60 turns on a map. the dlc already makes the game too easy.
I'd be interested to see how you do vs Chrom's paralogue blind. That one is the hardest, IMO. And Camilla's is definitely the longest.
I found the Soren's map was the worse, while Camilla's was long but not that bad.
Camilla’s is the longest unless you cheese it and then it takes like 5 turns. I’ve never done it but basically you can pull her super early.
I think you could just flyer squad to Camilla or use a warp staff and pull her early if you don't want to deal with the stupid low FPS maze.
i did them all blind as well, and i found chroms to be the hardest at that time.
20 free silver early game is busted, especially with all the gold the DLC gives you too.
Weapon Sync is pretty strong, but at least it’s +5 Atk instead of Dmg, then it would absolutely be broken. Same cost as Lunar Brace for probably the same effect
Please remember to go all the way around the map to the pond to pick up the silver ticket so you can get discounts at the shop and armory.
I think you mean silver card.
You can also get a re-warp or warp staff to save the walk around
Welcoming to the Dark side
Normally you get a notification upon going to the Somniel that tells you to go to Lookout Ridge because something has been found. Not sure if you missed it or something else.
In the base if you do this para on normal and early there is not mages on the towers instead it is martial monks with silence staffs.
Love how he called it that there’s reinforcements lol
Kinda wish the other Bracelets werent locked behind Tiki. If you would want to tone it down and only go for 1-2 DLC emblems per run, choosing different ones each time to increase replayability, you still need to beat Tikis map to do so, and thats a ton of off-curve levelups you're forced to gain, which further trivializes the game. I really hope a Maddening+ balanced around having DLC is in development.
About time. Wait until you get to Soren and Veronica 😅
Yes, please now do a Guide on Camilla's Paralogue. 4 times I've done it without Warp skipping, 4 times I've wanted to boot myself off a cliff.
dont forget the silver card 🙏 top of the map the shiny stuff its what the rewarp is for
For how much stuff it gives you it feels like basically a cheat code.
Edelgard is insane on Chloe because of access to failnaught
I was laughing at you standing still googling Where's Edelgard as I'm pretty sure you could have sprinted around the Somniel in that time.
Sometimes you just need to google it
Hey Iced DLC scales to level of your units so later on they get pretty crazy
FINALLY he has the DLC
I love the content, but you're asking a lot of questions that was in the content you skipped lmao
hahaha
Did you get the silver card on Tikis map? It’s the gold thing in the back middle outside the fortress
Wooooo!😅
Fuck yeah. Time to trivialize the game.
Lol if you watched the cutscene you’d know that you have to challenge them to have them join you
I like that he can't go a video without complaining about how the dlc makes the game too easy, yet here he is lol
I'm 100% doing this for the people that requested it.
Yaaaas
