I think someone pretty famous once said about Stevie Ray Vaughan, He is the type of guitarist that inspires people pick up the guitar to learn it, and makes established guitarists set the guitar down and walk away. Kinda like what you just said at the end..lol
I honestly deep down in my heart pray and this is not a religious statement but I pray that I could see Stevie Ray Vaughan one day Jimi Hendrix and everybody else in the Kingdom paradise whatever you want to call it and they're rocking out and God's light smiles upon them and we all get to jump up and cheer for good music scratch that great music that's my desire desire isn't always evil.
His note-bending is so nuanced, his attention to pitch is so well articulated. I'm convinced he heard that that string had slipped out of PERFECT tuning and needed immediate retuning. What really blows me away is the ease with which he resolved it. Everything he does in relation to his guitar just seems so second natured. I'm so glad that you reacted to Stevie, and especially with this vid. If you're familiar with Hendrix's music.. i'd like your reaction to any of his (Stevie's) Voodoo Child live videos or his cover of 3rd Stone From the Sun. Excellent reaction !!! 💙 💙 💙
I find it ironic that you mention 'third stone from the sun'. Before he was moved to his current monument, the location of Jimi's grave was the third head stone from a concrete sundial feature at the cemetery. We (those who lived nearby) would tell folks looking for Jimi to look for the third stone from the sun. Note: Jimi is laid to rest at the Greenwood Memorial in Renton WA. at the intersection of 4th St and Monroe.
@@davidaquarius9089 Wow! That's incredible. Thanks - If you haven't heard Stevies cover, please check it out. It's like Jimi was leaning over his shoulder, nodding approval. This is kind of cool: on the I'M TOO SEXY video by Right Said Fred, their lead guitarist gives like a 12 bar nod to Jimi with the riff from 3rd Stone. In all the reactor commentaries, no one seems to pick it up, but there it is.
Very much this! Considering he learned to play listening to vinyl's and the radio, his ear for notes and pitch must have been off the charts. He fairly often swapped out guitars in the middle of a song if he was unhappy with the state of its tuning and couldn't make minor adjustments like he did here. And his playing was so energetic and aggressive, bending the heck out of those thick .13s, it's normal to throw strings out of tune.
I was a 17 year old kid at that show. Used to cross the border from Buffalo and see lots of shows in Canada. Friend of mine wanted me to go up to Toronto and see a guitarist named Stevie Ray Vaughn and I thank God I did. Completely blown away and a fan since. What a great loss to lose him so young. Front row at a show in the Buffalo area two weeks before he was killed, last song Voodoo child Jimmy Hendrix, RIP SRV.
There are 2 SRV videos where a string pops. 1. He changes guitar without missing a single note. And 2. He changes the popped string while continuing to perform. AMAZING!
@@bullymaguire5838 yeah man, that was absolutely nuts. But there's another one where string broke and he just did the seemingly effortless switch when the time came, it was something to behold.
Stevie was on fire at the El Mocambo. He was channeling and you can see it in his face, body and playing. You should watch the whole concert. It's simply amazing.
Yup,most people watching, listening to SRV ended up with wrinkles, frustrated, confused, pissed off and left saying why can’t I do that?At the end of the day you just have got to enjoy greatness and respect the talent. And it’s comforting to know that you’re not the only one that can’t play like SRV,I doubt that anyone can.
No one can compare to his greatness! Don't feel bad. Stevie died in a helicopter crash after a concert. His ability to play still brings tears to my eyes.
The man never played it the same way twice!!!! 7:20 I always love this part where he steps up to the mic to make the audience think he’s going into the next verse, then he just steps back and starts that slow breakdown. He was a great showman.
And that break @ 8:47 was 100% necessary, because how could SRV, his backups, AND the crowd survive at such a high level of "into-it-ness" for so long?! Way too heavy for long exposure. SRV should have had a warning label!

Welcome to Texas Biss ! As an old Texan myself I can tell that Stevie was Texas Blues Music at its finest. In fact in my opinion SRV was the best blues guitarist ever, period. Never give up on playing the guitar girl ... there isn't anyone that can be as great as Stevie was but keep playing rest in peace brother Stevie the world misses you
Stevie Ray Vaughan (SRV) was a son of Texas and the natural successor to the legendary guitarist Jimi Hendrix... he got into playing guitar as a kid from his guitarist older brother Jimmie Vaughan (who is still actively playing today). He left home as a teen and started playing in Texas clubs in the 70's in various bands and showed promise in the blues style. He struggled w/ drug and alcohol abuse in his personal & professional life, sadly... Finally in 1978, he formed SRV and Double Trouble... w/ Chris Layton (drums)...Tommy Shannon (bass) who knew Stevie before, joined in 1980... After years of struggling, he debuted SRV & Double Trouble in 1983 w/ the album 'Texas flood' and it sold 2x platinum in the US. Stevie Ray Vaughan became a sensation in the 80's, releasing 4 studio albums that sold platinum - "Couldn't stand the weather" (1984)... 'Soul to soul' (1985)... and 'In step' (1989)... He also recorded an album 'Family style' as Vaughan Brothers w/ Jimmie Vaughan. Stevie Ray Vaughan was killed in a helicopter crash in 1990 in Wisconsin, after playing a concert in East Troy. SRV was 35 years of age. After his untimely death, the Vaughan Brothers album "Family style" was released and went platinum... his last recordings was released as 'The sky is crying' in 1991... His 'Greatest hits' album in 1995 sold 2x platinum.
It doesn't get mentioned much but my favorite part is when he gets soft and quiet in his playing (around 7:30 in this video). He pulls the audience into an intimate space with him and it's amazing.
Also, Stevie intentionally brings it down to a whisper, not only for the intimate moment, but also to have a calm before the storm moment. Because following that part, he goes guitar- cyclone on all of our asses and hits his crescendo by playing behind his back. Just redonkulous
He was also very, soft spoken, thoughtful, and humble. He always gave props to those that came before him, those that he learned from. Your reaction was spot on. Everything you said made perfect sense. He definitely got a boat-load of talent.
I saw SRV live before he became super famous. I knew nothing about him, hadn't heard a song, but he was supposed to be a legend. I was absolutely blown away. I bought my first guitar the next day.
amazing how he could start with basic age-old tried and true blues lick, and add so many flourishes and runs and fills and still be smooth as silk the whole way, adding a few well placed rough edges here and there... a true master of his instrument
truly, if anyone who doesn’t play guitar go look at rhe backing track of this song, and listen to it without stevies guitar .(1-you’ll realize the band is just as great, 2 you’ll grasp what sounds he is adding finally)
Bisscute Stevie Ray Vaughan is in. My opinion the best guitar 🎸 player over all genres of music 🎶. To Bad we had to lose him at such a young age. I seen him in Atlanta from the fourth row with Jeff Beck who is in a two way tie with SRV. RIPSRV.Peace. Out and. God bless SRV
Always a favorite. I actually like this song from the Volunteer Jam in Tennessee. I think 1987.... After he got clean from drugs. Part of that show was live on the Jerry Lewis MD telethon. I've found his whole performance, but don't know if anyone has just that song on a video.
@Dan Jones everyone has their own favorites, one of the bad things about watching SRV videos is the quality especially the sound. I really don't judge pre or post addiction. Stevie was great in both eras, tho in the latter stages of his addiction it did affect his playing but for me he was at the top of his game while performing at The Capital theater.
I was lucky enough to catch a concert with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Joe Cocker at Pine Knob Music Theatre Michigan. The story went that the show started late as the two of them flipped a quarter back stage to see who would open for who. Stevie opened but also came out for a shared performance with Joe during his set. What an amazing concert by two giants. Joe Cocker would be another performer you should check out.
You aren't wrong. The guitar is simply an extension of his body, heart and soul. He wouldn't have needed a voice at all. His guitar was his voice. Just watch his mouth during parts of his solos. He mouthing what he is playing. A generational talent that was with us for far too short of a time. I'm glad a whole new generation is discovering him!
I love your reaction it's so pure and cute 😊....I always have been a big fan of Stevie he is one of a kind. I am a blues drummer myself 64 years old. We always played Pride and joy...we tried...we tried 😁...lovely girl you are 😘
👏🙌✌️Great first reaction to our Stevie🎸🎶‼️. His guitar skills were beyond comprehension and no one has ever played with more passion and total commitment than Stevie did. Self taught from age 7, never reading music, just feeling it. He devoted his whole life to expressing himself through his music and just slayed everyone when he played. I would love you to react to one of Stevie's own songs called Aint Gone 'N' Give Up On Live performed at the Capitol Theatre in 1985. It is a very bluesy love song performed to perfection🎶🎸🎶. Looking forward to more from you~
Awesome. SRV is the truth. Absolutely mindblowing talent. One of the greatest ever. Ive played guitar for two decades & everything he does is still just jaw dropping & hard to comprehend. Stevie is a KING
Yes yes yes...... I've been waiting patiently, thankyou for reacting to it, I'm glad you enjoyed it, from eaansiree. You've made my week and it's only Monday!!!
Two songs that are instrumentals but you feel them more than hear them are "Lenny" and his cover of "Little Wing" (originally by Jimi Hendrix both with and without lyrics) trust me, either one is just a good ole soul shaking experience, and totally worth the listen
The real gift is for us. The work and passion this man put in. The hours the bleeding fingers the study of the language of music. He put in so much work that we got to hear him relax and play with the soul his work allowed him to be so free in.The gift was to me in inspiration and drive for me to learn how to be as good as I am. I love his playing but truly respect the effort it takes to be what I consider to be the best blues player......Ever. Thank you SRV....
Your going to love it . He's the best rock as nnd blues guitarist ever I wish I could have seen Stevie Ray. Vaughn and Double Trouble.❤❤❤❤😊😢😂 Mrs biss it's awesome you like all kinds of music from almost every era.8❤❤❤😊😊
Great, real reaction. One of the best reactions I have ever seen. Thank you for being so real. As for SRV, he was one of a kind. He did not play for show, he played from the heart. He said that if you do not play from the heart, it's not worth it. As for other SRV videos, there are many, but top of my mind is his performance of Voodoo Chile live in Austin, Texas, as well as his performance of Life Without You (9/21/1985 from the Capitol Theatre, Passaic, NJ). And there is Lenny (also from the El Mocambo), a song dedicated to his wife, and another is his performance of Little Wing (another Jimi Hendrix song). There is so much more, but these will get you well versed in the SRV magic. As for his death- he died in a helicopter accident. Early in the morning of Monday, August 27, 1990, SRV was killed in a helicopter crash near East Troy, Wisconsin. He was performing at a concert at the Alpine Valley resort, a concert that included people like Eric Clapton. There was only one road to and from the venue, so most of the artists were flown in and out via helicopters. He left on the last helicopter, and it crashed shortly after take-off. A very sad day for music indeed.
That Passaic Performance is insane. Life Without You to me has probably my favorite guitar solo by him. He just tears into his guitar after he gets done speaking with the audience. Very visceral, primal so amazing.
I heard that Eric Clapton offered SRV his seat on that helicopter ride that morning, which SRV took because he had another show he had to get to. Fate can be a cruel bitch sometimes.
My personal favorite guitarist is David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. Great skill and orchestration and a great lyricist and a great vocalist. However.... Stevie Ray is the most SKILLED guitarist I have ever seen/heard. He's also a great blues vocalist. His guitar playing was just as skilled as Hendrix but he seemed to have better orchestration than Hendrix. I love that you enjoyed this so much. That makes me smile :)
My mom introduced me to Stevie among many other artists when I was young. I was amazed and have been a fan ever since. This is such an amazing performance. My favorite songs are Pride and Joy and Crossfire. Great reaction Biss ❤🎸
SRV was GIFTED by the "Eye In The Sky" & He sure brought the Good's to this performance. The Canadian Crowd at this Club will NEVER 4GET what they saw & heard that Nyte..
Tin Pan Alley (with Johnny Copeland) [Live At Montreux 1985] is one of my favorites. The only person you should compare your guitar playing ability to is yourself from the day before. The fact that you have any experience at all playing guitar is exponentially better than the average person, so don't dwell so much on the destination - just enjoy the journey. ;-)
I love your reaction, don't bother about the pause thing - follow your guts, you cannot always decide when to pause when he's playing. I can see the chills you're feeling, and I love seeing young people feeling the same as I do listening to him. And yes, you can tune as you play, it's not that hard but it requires good pitch and maybe some experience.
Exactly. He heard the string was slightly out of tune and adjusted. He didn't change the tune due to the needs of the music as he doesn't adjust the tune in other recordings of him performing this song.
Stevie Ray was incredible and we are so lucky he us left us these videos to enjoy forever. He was definitely one of the few true greats. I am not sure if you have reacted to it yet but another incredible one is Eddie Van Halen and his "Eruption" solo. If you haven't already seen it you really need to Biss.
Loved your reaction to SRV Bisscute! It literally brings tears to my eyes when people react to his playing for the first time because I share in your joy and wonder, it's my pride and joy too. If you want to be marveled by another incredible talent check out Japanese drummer Yoyoka. This was her first video, and she's covering Led Zeppelin's Good Times, Bad Times at just 8 years old! I guarantee your jaw will drop at how good she is, probably as good as any drummer you've ever heard, but then I also guarantee you'll delight at her little girl giggles at the very end. Consider this a reaction request please! ruclips.net/video/91pz1E8pAOY/видео.html
What you witnessed was just one set, Stevie put that much effort in every song and every performance. I was in my 30's when he died and one of the few musicians I look towards the heavens and ask what if he didn't pass on so young.ugh!!!
only 3 guitarists have ever made me think about just giving up playing, SRV, Steve Vai and Tommy Emmanuel. keep up the great work please my friend! big love to all people :)
Stevie ray put into music a man desiring his lady, his blues style guitar and vocals perfectly tells this very basic feeling with s style that left us all in awe.
All hail the King of Stank Face and one of the greatest guitar players ever! Don't know what was better, seeing you being amazed or seeing you being agitated haha. Great reaction, more Stevie Ray please!🎸🤘👏
Before his untimely passing I had the pleasure of seeing him 3 times all were amazing shows. You have to see the video of Life Without You Live his guitar work is fantastic and breathtaking
Told you he is the best ever. Missed you live didn't get notification. Seen him so many times don't remember lived in Austin with him . Met his brother Jimmy first, thru Omar dykes another great blues guitarist
I don’t think their has been anyone who enjoyed playing music more than SRV,he will always be looked at as being the greatest guitar player to come along.
SRV was an artist for God... we just got lucky enough to witness his prayers to the creator... Some months before we lost Stevie, he used to stay at the Claremont Resort & Spa in Oakland, CA. Where I bartended at the time. Got to know and chat with SRV before and after his going sober. SRV was a real and down to earth person who loved life and those who influenced his development. Stevie asked me once who my favorite guitarist was which is and always will be Robin Trower... when SRV asked why, I told him "because like you, Robin plays like he's playing for God and we just happen to be in the room" You should've seen the ear-to-ear grin spread across his face... 😎👍❤️🙏
Lol, you are so adorable. As a fellow Texan, I grew up watching and listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn, and it is a joy to see others discovering this amazing artist. I loved your reaction and look forward to seeing more of them. Enjoy.

Body soul and mind ..put it on those strings !!!
Not just talent, not just emotional depth, but thousands and thousands of hours of practice.
I love your reaction it's so pure and cute 😊....I always have been a big fan of Stevie he is one of a kind. I am a blues drummer myself 64 years old. We always played Pride and joy...we tried...we tried 😁...lovely girl you are 😘
Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jeff Healy!😃😆😎
Beautiful song from Stevie guitar god. Miss him so much. You will get there young lady . With your guitar it took me 5 years to learn.
Looking forward to more from you~
Lol. Girly girl felt this one😊❤️🤘. I appreciate you 1000 times more. Stevie ray , the top dog of blues guitarist. Always will be
Will just slide Riviera Paradise in unnoticed ......
Yes he was tuning❤
The real gift is for us. The work and passion this man put in. The hours the bleeding fingers the study of the language of music. He put in so much work that we got to hear him relax and play with the soul his work allowed him to be so free in.The gift was to me in inspiration and drive for me to learn how to be as good as I am. I love his playing but truly respect the effort it takes to be what I consider to be the best blues player......Ever. Thank you SRV....
Grew up near where he was from . Always tried to catch his performances in small clubs . Never got so lucky . He was one of the greatest .
SRV. A beautiful, expressive soul.
His guitar voice revealed a depth beyond mere mortals.
He just tears into his guitar after
he gets done speaking with the audience. Very visceral, primal so amazing.
I heard that Eric Clapton offered SRV his seat on that helicopter ride that morning, which SRV took because he had another show he had to get to. Fate can be a cruel bitch sometimes.
Wasn't the last copter out it was one of 1st leaving. He wanted to get back to his girlfriend
@@gregamerson9172 Thanks for the info.

The fact that you have any experience at all playing guitar is exponentially better than the average person, so don't dwell so much on the destination - just enjoy the journey. ;-)
I was waiting for this ! Stevie Ray made this genre his own ,and couldn't read music! We are now kindred , ha ! Love your reaction , believe it!
When SRV gets done playing.... The guitar needs a cigarette. :D
SRV was on a guitar playing level all his own. No one has ever played like him, before, or, since.
He is sorely missed. Huge talent gone too soon.
I saw it with my own eyes, he tuned his guitar on the fly.
Greatness!!
American Blues - the whole band is delivering a difficult and fantastic performance, and making it look so easy...
only 3 guitarists have ever made me think about just giving up playing, SRV, Steve Vai and Tommy Emmanuel. keep up the great work please my friend! big love to all people :)
Stevie overcame his addictions, became a Christian and said that he didn't want to be a master of his instrument, but an instrument of the Master.
SRV is one of the greatest now you’ve heard him you can never un-hear him you have started a long journey enjoy
Just a Master! So smooth! There's absolutely noone like him and there will never be R.I.P Brutha
He was amazing ❤️
Welcome to the SRV rabbit hole...it's a helluva ride.
Stevie ray put into music a man desiring his lady, his blues style guitar and vocals perfectly tells this very basic feeling with s style that left us all in awe.
10 seconds in and you've already got the stank face going. That's the natural response to Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Stevie died after midnight on my birthday. 26th into 27th. I sipped whiskey until sunrise listening to tributes on a local Philly rock station. RIP ❤
Been waiting a long time... your wonder was awesome. This is SRV. Legend. Lost him way too soon.
All hail the King of Stank Face and one of the greatest guitar players ever! Don't know what was better, seeing you being amazed or seeing you being agitated haha. Great reaction, more Stevie Ray please!🎸🤘👏
I was blessed to see him play twice. Both times I knew I was in the presence of greatness.
Stevie Ray was the greatest guitarist of all time! He is playing his "soul guitar" in Heaven now!
SRV breaks a string playing “little sister” changes guitar and doesn’t miss a note!
I loved your reaction to this amazing performance!❤️
Half the credit for the flawless string changes goes to his tech, Rene Martinez.
Before his untimely passing I had the pleasure of seeing him 3 times all were amazing shows. You have to see the video of Life Without You Live his guitar work is fantastic and breathtaking
I've seen a LOT of reaction videos and no one comes close to blowing minds like Stevie Ray blows minds.
Told you he is the best ever. Missed you live didn't get notification. Seen him so many times don't remember lived in Austin with him . Met his brother Jimmy first, thru Omar dykes another great blues guitarist
Stevie made actual bonafide guitarists wanna toss their guitars.
The greatest guitar player ever!
Thanks for sharing. He was great in concert.
he was one of the great, sadly he was taken from us way too early r.i.p. Stevie
Stevie. The pride of Dallas Texas. (Actually Oak Cliff, just outside of downtown) he was kind, shy and generous.
I had to watch your SRV reaction twice, and will again. Your facial expressions and body movement are right on it. Welcome to the SRV RABBIT HOLE!
Lol, you are so adorable. As a fellow Texan, I grew up watching and listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn, and it is a joy to see others discovering this amazing artist. I loved your reaction and look forward to seeing more of them. Enjoy.
Self taught guitarist, when Stevie Ray play’s all the other Great guitarist put theirs down and watch him… Greatest guitarists of all time 🎸👍👍
Great observation that his guitar was an extension of him
Just loved your first reaction to the late great SRV, he died tragically in a helicopter crash in Wisconsin, he was a once in a lifetime talent, Bisscute, my reaction was the same as yours the first time I saw him on video, only many years ago, It's so refreshing to watch someone hear him for the first time, thank you young lady
"Jesus-Lord"
This is the proper reaction to SRV, first time or otherwise.
Love your reactions...
glad you enjoyed it Biss. Much Love. There are some who say he was the greatest of all time.
