I’m an American that never listened to any type of metal before. I found you from RUclips and Beste Zangers. Love your voice and your desire to express the feeling you get from a song in whatever genre of music you feel. I watched so many videos from Beste Zangers and ended up searching about you on here. Found the Nightwish documentary about how you entered the band. I have to say I really enjoy the music from Nightwish. Love the video I found of you and Epica singing Sancta Terra (without sympathy). The symphonic version is good too, but I agree with an interview you gave where the sound isn’t the same. Too many people have a stereotype in their head of what metal music is. I definitely did. So glad to have found you and an appreciation for symphonic metal.
Yeah, it is sad that metal music seems to have such a bad reputation :-) Of course, there are bad people in metal world, but a lot of metal music is just great :-)

Having met Floor at several meet & greet events before concerts, I am always amazed at just how humble and personable she is to people. Not "I'M A ROCK GODDESS!!! WORSHIP ME!!" attitude from her anywhere at all. Very genuine and appreciative to each and every person who comes into her life. And I firmly believe that she is quite possibly one of the best singers/vocalists on the planet currently...the rest of the world at large just doesn't know it yet. :)

Floor is amazing. On stage she is a valkyrie and metal goddess. On every day life she is so down to earth and living in Sweden highlights that!! I got to know her better after this interview. She is my hero. Love from Finland

4 years and i hear fluently Swedish at the grocery store. There is really nothing this lady cant do! I have seen people living half theyr life in a country,and they still havent learned 20% of the language,so im Floor`d for the 50 million`th time again 🥰

Ja, Floor har blivit riktigt bra på svenska. Är det bara jag som hör en tendens till göteborgska? Inte så konstigt kanske med tanke på att hon bor nära Göteborg, men ändå.
It's impressive :) I think learning Swedish is pretty easy for Dutch people, lots of similar words and pronunciation.

Dit heb je zo verdiend! Ben een van de vele Nederlanders die je voor Beste Zangers niet kende maar weet nu inmiddels wat je op muziekgebied al allemaal gedaan hebt. Ben inmiddels groot fan van Nightwish geworden en kom naar jullie concert in de Ziggodome in november. Door jou heb ik ook Arjen Lucassen ontdekt en zijn muziek vind ik ook te gek, zeker als jij daarbij meezingt. Dacht voorheen inderdaad dat Metal niets voor mij was maar je hebt me bekeerd! She lives in a modest home that any one of us can imagine living in .. with her husband out digging holes, her taking her horses for a walk. You see celebs like from Hollyweird and think . .I would never associate with them (that may be wrong but it is like they live in a different world) .. Floor and her husband .. I can imagine being a neighbor and coming over for dinner and a beer

Your are such a gifted singer! Please never lose your voice or lose your enjoyment in singing.
You pour your heart and soul into every word that you sing. That's what I think most people love about you besides your other amazing qualities. All the best to you and your family. I am one of those who did not listen to "Metal" if I even saw the label of something being "Metal." You've helped change my bias about this, and I'm so very pleased. There are still metal songs I like better than others, but that's true for every genre. What you've helped so - in your wonderful talent and authenticity and kindness shining through - is to help open my mind to listen so I can find preferences within the metal genre. Thank you!

Speaks fluent Dutch, English, Swedish, adding Finnish. Also sings in Spanish, Italian, and likely German. Amazing.
She sang Villa Lied in the original German.
it's actually pretty common to speak multiple languages in The Netherlands :)
@@just2000ofme In general, the smaller the country (particularly if it abuts several larger countries), the more languages the people speak. Switzerland being the prime example.
She's sung in French before as well, honestly it's a European thing. I'm not European but most Europeans I know speak at least a basic amount of multiple languages
I hope Nightwish find many new fans this year. They are already very successful of course but I know that many many more people would love them if they heard/of them. Good luck with everything in 2020 Floor!

I’m from Florida and my first record bought was Peggy Sue by Buddy Holly. I have always been a rock fan. I do like a few country singers and I also like some Opera. Now I can say that I really enjoy Floor Jansen and Nightwish. Some friends are shocked, probably because I am 76 but I don’t think there’s an age limit on the music that I enjoy. You have a fantastic voice.
Holy carp your Swedish is pretty much flawless. I'd imagine it would have been so easy to just slip into English all the time instead..
Floor is so Real. Genuine. Makes her Incredible TALENT even more impressive.

I just never paid much attention to metal before, thought it was just a bunch of noise! Discovered Nightwish and Floor on RUclips about 2 months ago. I now have a favorite music, symphonic metal! Starting to give other metal music a try but dont know if I'll ever go for the "hard" stuff. So thank you Nightwish for opening my eyes to something new(to me!) I've an appreciation for the music now. I don't know how long my grandson will be stationed in Germany but I'd love to come see one of your concerts there, but I hope you come back to the states! Thanks again for the music!

Ad Lockhorst i know who her husband is, but being married to a swede doesn’t help your pronounciation. I’ve been living in Sweden since ’94 and still can’t pronounce letters U and Ö like a swede all the time

As a Swede sometimes like when out travelling I hear some people talking at a distance and they sound a little Swedish when I can't hear the words like it is the same "singing rythmic melody" in those conversation, but when I come closer they speak dutch or flemmish, I don't know uf some accent in dutch or flemmish have easier to pronounce it or if the "melodi rythm" they speaks it with.
And people who are old enough to have meet often or even grown up older generations of Swedes that used older Swedish words for things will find that they where closer to german words than newer words used today in Swedish, if a person who wants to learn Swedish and meet someone that grown up with those elderly people maybe even uses some of thos words still, could it be possible that it becomes easier to learn from conversation with them, and many accents uses older versions of word in a language, so she seems to live closer to the west coast in Sweden or am I wrong ,not directly but in some closer distance to it, and if she is there most of the times maybe she has to speak with some elderly people that are not fluent in english and therefore rather speaks Swedish with her.
(Untill WWII ended, Swedes learned German as a second language in schools)
Anders Persson yeah i know. I spent my first four years in Sweden living in Falun and there a lot local dialects in Dalarna that still have the old words that aren’t used in swedish anymore, which always fascinated me.
When i moved to Malmö i used to mess with ”southerners” all the time with the old words and phrases they’d never heard before
And i had a thick Dala accent at the time, but it’s completely dissapeared after 20 years of living in Malmö
