I miss my tricolor hognose. He died during sandy cause we lost power for a month and I have to way to keep him warm. The constant fire in the fireplace barely kept us warm
In the future save an empty 2 liter bottle and fill it with water. In case of loss of electricity you can heat the water in a pan on the fire till it just steams. Don't boil it. Using a funnel pour it back into the 2 liter and cap it. Put it in the snakes box and drape towels all around the tank and even tent a towel over the bottle (lay it down on its side.) You will periodically have to reheat the water but for that short time you can put the snake inside your coat and keep him warm with body heat.
@@kitwhite2640they also make emergency reptile heaters that are essentially like a disposable hand warmer. I don’t know how much they are but they’re a good addition to a snake emergency kit if you can get them
If you line the inside of a box with black paper, cover the top in clear wrap, and angle sunlight in with a reflective surface, that can trap heat during the day, if you put black rocks as the bottom, they'd help maintain temp at night. 🤷♀️ idk how the temps compare to a heat lamp tho
Hog noses are awesome little characters! I love baby snakes so much! I love how they instantly know how to ‘snake’ without being taught. Hardwired to be sssssing and sassy from the second they’ve formed sssssy bits! 🐍
Genuine question. why do you use the egg crate? I also watch snake discovery and they bury the eggs halfway in perlite. What are the different advantages and disadvantages to doing it either way?
I love snakes, as a kid I used to pick them up all the time, only got bit once by a brown snake, generally it was just the brown snakes and tiger snakes that got angry, red belly blacks, pythons, copper heads and black snakes were quite placid
I love these snakes. They’re so aDORABLE. Side question, I’m wondering why he lets his snakes crawl out after they’ve pipped and are just chillin halfway out while another breeder jayprehistoricpetstv that shows off a lot of his reticulated pythons and the eggs will finish cutting open the pip and pull them out?
I picked up what I assume is a Western ground snake is really small and I'm keeping it in a water bottle with damp tree branches that has leaves in a pillowcase kept relatively warm. Is that okay for now?
No. Let it go. You should never take animals from the wild, let them be. If you want a pet snake do research and buy an enclosure not a water bottle. Then buy a captive bred animal not some you found outside. Go let it go where you found it, hopefully it won’t be dead by then.
Heyy, i have a question. I have a gravid hognose but she had her pre-lay shed on 30 may but now it is 22 june i have read that it is normally between 1 and 2 weeks but that some snakes can lay the eggs until day 20 is that right? And what can i do the help her lay her eggs please😢😢 I do have already a lay box with a bit of dirt and moss and i keep that moist can i do more or just want. And i'm scared to go to the vet because then she can get eggbound because of the stress right? And i know that she can get eggbound even if she isn't stressd😊😅 Please help me or give tips❤❤❤
I saved a snake from a pool today! Watching your channel has definitely helped me be less scared of them!
Me too!! Not the saving a snake from a pool, but not being afraid of them.
Ive also saved a lot of pool noodl- i mean snakes from pools.
@@amppari_234😂😂😂
Same!!
Why
Hog nose 1 and 2 have already started building their reputation. "We have been wreaking Havoc since 3 minutes after hatching." 😂
I love your channel so much, this could rid anyone of a fear of snakes. Look at those babiesssss 🥺
❤
On the contrary... these tiny MFs can go under my door. Fear increased.
Try meeting one in the wild. You'll know why the wild is the wild
@@MPblackpride6950 obviously nobody is dancing with natural selection playing with wild snakes genius.
@@HennythingIsPossible I loooooove your reply, it makes my day!😂 thankyou honestly ❤
I have watched these little snakes disappear so many times but my favorite is the children’s pythons breaking out 😂
“Hey! Hey- why’d you do that?! That was my home!” - the little Hognose he pulled gently out of the sand
I miss my tricolor hognose. He died during sandy cause we lost power for a month and I have to way to keep him warm. The constant fire in the fireplace barely kept us warm
Oh that’s sad :(

Im Not a big fan of snakes but your videos always make me smile. And now I kinda want to get some species of tiny snake 😭❤️
They’re so cute! And their eggs are so tiny
It's great to learn about different snakes here.
Aww, they are so adorable 🥰 I can't!
I swearing that this guy is Salazar Slytherin irl.
I love how tiny they are. So cute
Hognoses’s are so cute.
Their little heads poking out gets me every time. It's the cutest thing❤❤❤
Tri colors are so pretty!
I just gound your chanel and have been binge watching your videos with my twins
I like snakes to begin with but those hatchlings are absolutely adorable!!
Been watching the channel a few weeks now and got to say I like the style of clothes & facial hair
This is amazing. I'm a microbiologist and know nothing about snakes, this video is so dense with information to observe. So cool.
God I love hognoses! 😊 Just look at the wee babies and their snoots!!
They're so pretty! ❤❤❤❤

Everyone: writes essays
Me: Baby snakies
They’re so cute! I want one!
They were such a fun clutch 🐍💚💚🐍
Get so excited when I get a notification from this channel
I don’t want a snake, but watching your channel has definitely helped with my fear of snakes. Hognose snakes are so cute!
That snake looks so pretty😍
smol snake looks so cool, honestly i would maybe keep one if he stays like that forever.

I’m learning so much of this
Look at those gorgeous babies!
AWWW THE WITTLE BABIESSS
Do you ever do Baby Honey Bee Ball Pythons … they’re literally my dream combo. One day I will have one! 🐝🐍❤
Never knew snakes can be so cute😁🤗🌼
Just a curious question..... Why not let the mommy snake take care of the eggs naturally?
When you do that the mothers won't eat
So he does it for the safety of the mother's and the eggs/babies
Hognose are so cute
Omg I now need a tricolored hognose
They are so cute 😊
Soo many cute snakes !
These types of snakes are beautiful
I’m terrified of holding snakes but when I see them through their enclosure or some holding them they look kinda cute
Will you be working out alternative ways to incubate tricolors since babies scatter eggs around on the rack?
How little they are 😂❤
Who else subscribed to this guy to conquer their fear of snakes?
i love how you just pop in sometimes like just that little image of you in the corner
Cutest nope rope EVER
Is there a specific reason for the crate inside the tote? Rather than slightly covering sides of eggs with perlite mix to keep from rolling?
Born to rule- that first snake wanted to make sure there were no other survivors.
Amazing videos thank you. Will love more ❤
Imagine hatching snakes and the hatched snakes start hideing from you😂
Hognose bb's are thw best❤
Bro tried to kill his siblings before they were even born.
They're really kinda cool 😎
Hello, I’m just curious or actually I do wanna see how snakes cut their egg using their cute tooth from the inside? Can you film it? Thank you 😊
Are those venomous?
not dangerous to humans.
love your channel, but I couldn't help but notice, why most of the incubated eggs are pythons'?
my snake cant hide anymore, shes huge
Can you do a detailed video on why the eggs should stay right side up
Hey do you have a special place for the snakes or do you release them?
he obviously sells them, why would he breed hundreds of snakes and release them 😅
What a bunch of cuties
I binge watched rhis channel all night... 😅 TF is wrong with me... 😅
I assume the bottom is clear too? Pick up the whole thing and look up from the bottom!
😂😂😂 they are so cute 😍

I didn’t realize these guys stopped trying to get out for a minute. I thought they passed away trying 😢
What about the other eggs which are in the wild, how do they survive ?
I have had encounters with about five snakes and im not scared at all cuz i watch ur videos and KNOW they are harmless
If they r not threatened
Those two little ones certainly had a good time?
i would love longform videos about your snakes! 5/10 minutes?
The moment when you’re a baby snake and knock over all your little siblings for no reason at all😂😂😂😂
I love these snakes. They’re so aDORABLE.

Bro got evicted from his substrate home
I need one!!!
I have a question I'm just wandering how do you know where the tops of the egg is??
Hoggies of any kind just have to be dramatic😂
Why are all the eggs not sticking together?
The cutest noodles ❤
I want one!
Do The Grimace Shake
Little dude almost killed his entire family 😮
With hogs, just look at the bottom of the container and you’ll see their bellies!!
Tri color hognose... the one I want
Mischevious lil' guys!
what cute lil noodles.
I love hognoses

what do you do with the slugs and snails

SOOOO CUTE
one question, do the embryos ever attach to the top or bottom of eggs? (the shorter sides)
Can the vines be on the bottom and the endbrio be at the top
hi pmease give us updates on these snakes
