They are great when they work but it's too easy to bugger things up. I accidentally moved a switch on the driver's door so it was no longer on the automatic setting. That stopped the windows from folding in when I'd push 'lock' on the remote. The fix is easy - just move the switch back to automatic. But I never Did find an answer to that. Not in the manual, not on the net. I happened on it myself. And that's just one example. Here's another that I cannot figure out how to fix. I have a two-way remote starter as well as the regular one. It worked when I got it but it doesn't now. And the work-around you can do (do people know there's a way to remotely start their Kia without having to shell out to buy another?) doesn't work either. So I know I've done it. And why does the 2 way remote have so many buttons now instead of the one-button kind that everyone else seems to have? I can't find Anything on the two way kind. The last idea is what you talked about in this video. But aimed at those of us with older models. My 2015 has uvo but it meant something different back then. The 2020 Forte does not have wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. When you're using your phone wirelessly, that's using a Bluetooth connection. I'm not sure if a future software update will allow it on current Kia vehicles, but if they do, I promise to make a video about it. Thanks for watching!
@@BrantfordKia - I doubt Kia will make it an upgrade, even though the entertainment center runs standard Linux operating system and it would be trivial to add this feature. Hello, Can you tell me if the Wireless Android Auto is working on the Kia Niro EV 2021? I have recently purchased the SX Touring version but I have the Android Auto worked with the USB cable only.
My understanding is that the 2021 Niro is a WIRED connection only. If you have the 10.25 inch screen in any Kia or Hyundai right now, it's always a wired connection.
It's not available on the bigger screens, but I'm following up with Kia Canada to see if there is any plan to bring it to current vehicles in the future. Right now, assume that you have it WIRED, but not WIRELESS.
I just bought a 2021 Kia Sorento SX Pestige. When selecting Radio on the radio's digital display, the radio station frequency is displayed as 'lit filaments in old-timey looking bulbs'. So, say I'm tuned to station 94.5, 94.5 is displayed in big easily readable size but the font is like an old-time light bulb and the 94.5 is like the lit filament. Can you do a video of how to change this from old light bulb style to the other options/fonts?
I have a 2022 Sonata Limited and a Samsung S20 Ultra phone. I can't get Android auto to work wirelessly. It does work with a usb cable. Do you know what I am doing wrong. By the way. Great channel.
Androids always seem to be a little more complicated. I would have a tough time diagnosing over the RUclips comments. Fun fact, our dealers don't receive any training on Android Auto to help us troubleshoot with our customers. It might be worth asking your dealer, or stopping by to see if they can help. Maybe they've run into the issue before, usually it's something simple, but I'm not sure without seeing the phone in person. I'm sorry.
Hi Peter. We just picked up a 2021 Sportage EX S yesterday. We were playing with the Apple Carplay and Android Auto and we could only make it work with a cable. I am assuming our Sportage does not have the full wireless capability?
That's correct. I've been trying to confirm if there will be a future software update that enables it to be wireless, but so far I can't get anyone to confirm or deny anything. On a few of our cars, we ARE expecting an update, but most of them (including the Sportage) we haven't had any information on whether an update will or will not be offered to make things wireless.
@@kaspertitus Any money spent on a Forte GT is not wasted! They are phasing this feature into many different models. The interesting thing now, is that in our upper level cars with the 10.25" screen, you can't get this feature, while many vehicles with the 8 inch screen have it as standard equipment.
For anyone in the UK like me, it's worth noting that the cars (as of Sept 2021) don't have Wireless Android Auto support yet. I just spoke to the dealership and they've confirmed this.
@@BrantfordKia ahh I see, yes you are correct. I can see many people (including myself) complaining that a higher specification car doesn't have wireless!
Yup! To be fair to Kia though, the alternative is that they wait to introduce great technology until it's on the higher end cars, and that has its downfalls as well. With Kia, if the technology is ready to go, they introduce it right away on the next vehicle to launch, and that vehicle often ends up with class leading technology. I don't see many features on a Corolla that haven't already made it onto a Lexus, but I think this is how Kia improves at a faster rate than the industry. The new Kia Carnival is about to have some technology that the Stinger and Telluride don't have, and again, it's going to make that minivan a class leader in some areas.
Not at this time. I'm not sure if an update will be coming that will allow it. That's my hope, but I haven't heard anything official from Kia about that possibility.
Need help I have the exact car follow ALL steps but NOTHING. Please help! Do you need to download any app before doing the steps? Can you make a video if it's not successful what should you do?
If you have an iPhone, the most common issue is that people aren't using the factory cord to connect their phone to the car. Other than that, there's a setting in the settings of your phone that says CarPlay, make sure that "switch" is clicked on. Other than that, it should work. As I said, the most common issue is that the cord used is an aftermarket cord, and it charges, but does not move data. It has to be a high-end cord.
That's the big question! I'm trying to get answers on a lot of things around this and it's future in our cars. As I find out more, I'll try to share more information.
It doesn't work on our Niro vehicles yet, but I'm wondering if a software update could be made available to unlock it in the future. To be clear, I haven't received even a hint of this being a possibility from any official source.
@@BrantfordKia thanks for that. I bet maybe as you say a software upgrade may do it but I’m betting it will happen when ether the car gets a face lift or a new version of the Niro arrives like the new sorrento.

Hi! I’ve heard that there have been a lot of problems with the Samsung S22 Ultra and CarPlay connectivity. From what I’ve read, it seems to be a phone problem. I would see if there are any needed software updates for the phone.
I set up my Apple carplay just like this at the dealership and it lasted for 2 days before the screen mirroring when away. The car still recognizes my phone but the display doesnt show my apps and i cant use my navigation or send/receive texts. Any idea what may have gone wrong and how I can get it back? Thank you
The first thing I would do is delete the connection (both on the phone and on the car) and then setup the bluetooth again. I would also try a wired connection to see if it works. It could be a phone setting, it could be the car -- it's hard to tell without seeing it.
Yeah, I think we're starting to show what this series will look like. @@BrantfordKia By "right now" do you mean it might be possible in the future via software updates? If so, how could I see a full list of software updates for my kia? Thanks for the answer btw
@@EPK_AI_DUBS The short answer is that I don't expect an update to be made available for your car, the more convoluted answer is that there have been hints that SOME cars MAY receive a future software update to enable it. The real answer is that I can't get anyone to confirm what is going to happen or not happen with this, and it's one of the most commonly asked questions that I get. As I know more, I'll definitely make a video, but right now, I don't know.
Make sure google maps is installed on your phone first, once it is installed plug your phone into your car to use android auto and it should be accessible from your vehicles screen.

Ooh... I'm not sure. The best way to check is to look at the wording on your radio screen. If it says that you need a USB cable, then it's not available.
Haha!! That's a trick question! The 8" screen on the Sorento comes standard with this. Now, in the K5 the 8" screen has this function but the 10.25" screen is waiting for a software update to make it work in those cars. I assume it's the same for the Sorento, but I haven't had that officially confirmed as of this minute. My android auto on my 21 Sorrento won't stay connected to my Samsung S21. When listening to music it sometimes cuts out so much that it's unusable. I've noticed that sometimes the upper right corner has the wireless signal icon and sometimes only the Bluetooth symbol. Could this be part of the problem?
I've heard of some connection issues similar to what you're describing, and I'm not sure of the solution. In the past when we've experienced software issues, they were often fixed by Android Software updates. I'm not sure if that will be the case with you. I assume you're running the latest software, and if that's the case, it may be something that you have to wait out. I don't have a great answer for you, I'm sorry.

Do you know if I have wireless connection for use of android auto?
I can only use it wirelessly for phone calls. Not maps and to press the microphone button and ask google questions.
Otherwise I have to have it plugged in to USB for all other features
Thanks. Great work with the channel. Appreciate it!
That's why I detesting my 2020 Niro PHEV purchase so much. Rotten dealership didn't tell me that it's only useful with a USB cable, and I'm telling everyone I know to be careful because Kia likes to hide the lack of these features in their menus. I couldn't even find wireless A-A setup in my 3000 page user manual. Is there some place that does after-market upgrades to my Kia? It would be a good idea for a small company to develop fixes for the crappy factory software.
I have a 2021 rio but don’t have the wireless option. Any work around that?
The 2021 Rio in Canada had it. If you don't have it, you won't be able to upgrade.
does the new kia picanto has it too? (picanto 3.5)
just to clarify, i meant to ask if the picanto also has a wireless connection option.
I'm not sure. We don't sell the Picanto here in Canada. You'll have to connect with a local dealer.

Does the Kia Seltos 2022 have this feature ???
It will if it has the 8" screen. The 10.25" screen still uses a wired connection only.
2022 kia sportage only allows cable plug in for Android auto?
Yes, that's correct.
You'd mentioned the Carnival ex+ doesn't have the wireless connection. Is Android auto still accessible through a wired connection?
Yes, absolutely.
I just buy Kia Seltos 2021 and try to connect Android auto on my Huawei P30Pro but still cannot connected. Is the step same with the video when connecting with Apple device?
How do I know if my Kia Seltos has the wireless feature?
Short answer is, it doesn't. At this time, the Seltos doesn't have this feature.
@@BrantfordKia but why? I am disapointed to have bought a 2021 car without that option.
Recently leased a 2022 Sportage Nightfall and it will only work with the wire connected for Android Auto. If I unplug the cable it closes the app. Tried several times with the same reuslt.
The 2022 Kia Sportage doesn't have wireless Android Auto, most of our other 8 inch screens do, but the 2022 is in it's final year, and it seems that they didn't make an updates to that system for the final model year.

Is wireless Android Auto available in 2022 Sorento SX Canadian has version?
It's not available on the bigger screens, but I'm following up with Kia Canada to see if there is any plan to bring it to current vehicles in the future. Right now, assume that you have it WIRED, but not WIRELESS.
Does not all Kias support wireless car play?
2020 Sportage sx turbo doesn't have wireless android auto?
I just bought a 2021 Kia Sorento SX Pestige. When selecting Radio on the radio's digital display, the radio station frequency is displayed as 'lit filaments in old-timey looking bulbs'. So, say I'm tuned to station 94.5, 94.5 is displayed in big easily readable size but the font is like an old-time light bulb and the 94.5 is like the lit filament.
Can you do a video of how to change this from old light bulb style to the other options/fonts?
Uh oh.... I knew this would happen... You can't change the radio style. Your vehicle has the updated software, and that's the way it is now.

In Canada, it's not wireless. I expect it to be the same in the U.S.
@@BrantfordKia so not fair you would think 2021 would have the latest tech now I feel like I wasted my money on forte gt lol
@@kaspertitus Any money spent on a Forte GT is not wasted! They are phasing this feature into many different models. The interesting thing now, is that in our upper level cars with the 10.25" screen, you can't get this feature, while many vehicles with the 8 inch screen have it as standard equipment.
Great videos ! I have car play on kia 2017 ?
I think some of our 2017 cars were capable of having it, but they may have required a software update that was only available for a limited time.
For anyone in the UK like me, it's worth noting that the cars (as of Sept 2021) don't have Wireless Android Auto support yet. I just spoke to the dealership and they've confirmed this.

I have a 2021 Forte GT Line. Will wireless Android auto work? I don't see a way to do it.
That car does not have wireless Android Auto, that's why you can't find a way to make it work.
Base model Rio has this feature, but my 2019 GT2 Stinger doesn't . Unreal.
Same. 🤔
I have a 2020 Kia Telluride (top trim). is it possible to connect my iPhone 12 to Carplay wirelessly? I’m from Kuwait (Middle east).
Will this be available on a 2021 Seltos? Could it be a matter of a firmware update?
That's the big question! I'm trying to get answers on a lot of things around this and it's future in our cars. As I find out more, I'll try to share more information.
Hi Peter does this work on the 2020 Kia e Niro 4
It doesn't work on our Niro vehicles yet, but I'm wondering if a software update could be made available to unlock it in the future. To be clear, I haven't received even a hint of this being a possibility from any official source.
@@BrantfordKia thanks for that. I bet maybe as you say a software upgrade may do it but I’m betting it will happen when ether the car gets a face lift or a new version of the Niro arrives like the new sorrento.
