i use to play this game for hours. one of my all time favorite game to this day. me and my brother will still walk around singing the song and when ever we are watching football or something and someone drops a ball we always yell "HE DROPPED IT .... I CANT BELIEVE IT!" very good game and worth the play.
Haha omg, so true. I literally hum this song too, it’s fire lol and it’s also my brothers ring tone. This game is great and was ahead of its time in being able to save without passwords. Jose Canseco is a GOD
Sports Talk Baseball was a pretty amazing spectacle back in the day because of its play-by-play commentary, and it still provides a pretty solid game of video baseball today. It's certainly still worth a play if you weren't lucky enough to experience it in your childhood.
I used to love to change the position of the infielders because he would say infield out infield in Infield normal no matter how many times you did it oh, he would have to say it for every time you did it so you can press the buttons to do it a hundred times and he would just keep saying it over and over until he was finished I always thought that was hilarious
Same here. 1 day I threw a strike while he was in the bathroom, and he never wanted to play against me again lol. Aint that fucked up?? Lmao. Guess he took it serious
My cousin (who was a victim of the opioid crisis, RIP) used to play this game all the time! He also had the AAAAHHH!!! Real Monsters video game. He would bring his Genesis with him every year to my grandfather's house in Hickory, NC when we had our family gatherings on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
this game, sports talk football and NHL 93-95 were games I played almost everyday as a kid, I still remember the voice and delayed play by play. I forgot senna super monaco gp 2 was another go too.
My friends and I would play this all day on rainy days. If it was sunny, we would play whiffle ball all day and after sundown it was back to sports talk baseball. I miss those days.
We had "NFL: Sports Talk Football". I didn't find out about this game until years later. Still, the "Sports Talk" series had the best play by play commentary of any sports title at least until '96 or' 97. The audio tech was impressive.
Damn, Mitchell on Seattle hit a grand slam and was only credited with a 3 run homer. He also hit a solo homer which should've given him a 5 RBI day. David Justice hit and was credited with a slam. The final score SHOULD be 15-7.
I'm not even a huge fan of sports games, but this one is particularly nostalgic. I used to own it until some neighborhood kid stole it, fortunately I found a copy of it not long ago, though I suck at it now.
26:36, "He throws to first! Game over! Braves win! Braves win! 15-6 the final! What an amazing start to the season! That'll do it for us from Safeco Field. For Joe Simpson and our entire crew, this is Chip Caray saying so long from Seattle!"-Chip Caray on FOX Sports South. "He'll throw to first and the Braves beat the Mariners 15-6 and the Braves have broken our hearts on opening day. That's gonna do it from Seattle. For Harold Reynolds, I'm Steve Raible. So long for now!"-Steve Raible on AT&T Sports Seattle.
1:11, the following intros for the team's local MLB broadcasts: Chip Caray on FOX Sports South: "Hello again, everybody. Along with Joe Simpson, I'm Chip Caray welcoming you LIVE to Safeco Field in Seattle for the season premiere of Atlanta Braves Baseball where the Atlanta Braves take on the Seattle Mariners." Steve Raible on AT&T Sports Seattle: "Hello everybody! LIVE from Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington, it is Seattle Mariners Baseball right here on AT&T Sports Seattle. Today, the Seattle Mariners play host to the Atlanta Braves. I'm Steve Raible alongside Harold Reynolds."
Man this brings back so many memories. This game, along with the Road Rash series, were my favorite Genesis games. This was a pretty revolutionary game for it's day. I'd still play it now if I still had it.
This is the baseball nerd in me talking but I just realized Otis Nixon's number is listed as 35. That's Phil Niekro's retired number and it had been that way for several years by that point. What a strange error.
Anybody noticed how Sega made the logos in the in between innings screen for each of the teams as close to the actual MLB logo as possible? That was my favorite part of the whole entire game, because no other baseball video game back in the 16-bit era even came close to that.
Only game I’ve ever played a whole 162 game season plus playoffs. Summer of 92 in my parents basement. Randomly selected the Padres, Crimedog hit 80 + hr’s and Bip Robert’s hit the century mark in SB’s. Good times.
The most fun I had with this game was rapidly tapping the button to change my infielders' positions, so the announcer would rap "INFIELD OUT, INFIELD IN, INFIELD NORMAL" over and over again.
Did anyone pick up on the Edgar Martinez Grand Slam the game glitched and gave you a 3 run homer instead of a grand slam? Your score should have been 8-5 not 8-4 after that inning
Maybe YOU didn't use a cheat but, Seattle only got three runs for Mitchell's grand slam...WTF?!?! If you'd lost that game, the talk show hosts would've been all over you for bringing in Avery to pitch to him. Glavine was getting the call off the corner even in this game, though not as much as he did in real life. But the most egregious departure from reality was 0 HR Nixon hitting an oppo-BOMB. I used to play guys out of position so they could make errors because I wanted him to say, he drops the ball! and I can't believe it!
A cut-and-paste hacking/localization of the Genesis Super League '91, in a similar way when Harmony Gold took Japanese shows and made a cut-and-paste translation into Robotech.
This is a great game I just got it. It looked good so I bought it and was even more glad when I played it. It plays exactly like the original R.B.I. baseball in the arcade. It's better than the versions of that game on the systems though you can actually play a whole season without having to replace a battery for the saves
My friend and I used to play a number of games on Genesis on a regular basis. Of the sports ones, it was NHL Hockey, Madden, and this gem. Originally, we were impressed with the announcing, but after awhile, we made fun of it, and left it off. We also got a kick out of the fake MLB logos for each team.
I remember playing as the White Sox and exploiting glitches where you could make the computer runner to to second and end up throwing him out. That and if you get two strikes on the computer they would swing on the next pitch, as long as it was down the middle so you could throw it in the dirt and they’d still swing
In this game Howard Johnson aka HOJO always hit a monster Homerun.. He was the best player in this game.. All he did was hit a Homerun out of any of the 3 stadiums in the game
anyone know how the developers crammed so many voices into these games? super impressive. i wonder if the same developing team could have done this on the snes
@@angelriverasantana7755 interesting. i wonder if it has as much speech. since it's in japanese i can't tell(but it sounds really nice and the crowd etc, does seem like it's even better if it's as much speech). but i know stuff like Bret Hull hockey on snes had play by play, but it wasn't as much as the sports talk games. i know Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius on sfc has a lot of speech, but again it's in japanese so i can't tell how much. seems to be a lot. looks like the most likely answer to my question is the yes, it was possible to do this much play by play in english on the snes, just never happened
i use to play this game for hours. one of my all time favorite game to this day. me and my brother will still walk around singing the song and when ever we are watching football or something and someone drops a ball we always yell "HE DROPPED IT .... I CANT BELIEVE IT!" very good game and worth the play.
Cody Cox haha my childhood friends and i do the same thing. “Infield back, infield in, infield normal”
Haha omg, so true. I literally hum this song too, it’s fire lol and it’s also my brothers ring tone. This game is great and was ahead of its time in being able to save without passwords. Jose Canseco is a GOD
OFF THE WALL!
He dropped the ball... I cant believe it!
What was everyone's team? I used to roll with the Braves and Rangers.
Juan Gonzales
Pudge Rodriguez
Ruben Sierra etc etc lots of bats
Holy nostalgia!! This made a huge impact with my love for baseball.
now i'm nostalgic for this comment
Sports Talk Baseball was a pretty amazing spectacle back in the day because of its play-by-play commentary, and it still provides a pretty solid game of video baseball today. It's certainly still worth a play if you weren't lucky enough to experience it in your childhood.
That play-by-play was provided by the late Lon Simmons, who was best known as the voice of the San Francisco 49ers and the San Francisco Giants.
Dana Long dude it sounds like the same robot voice from Joe Montana sports talk football!
This game was great
I used to love to change the position of the infielders because he would say infield out infield in Infield normal no matter how many times you did it oh, he would have to say it for every time you did it so you can press the buttons to do it a hundred times and he would just keep saying it over and over until he was finished I always thought that was hilarious
Right, it was great for its time.
I loved this game, I thought it was incredible. My dad loved it to, he'd play with me for hours. Great memories!
Same here. 1 day I threw a strike while he was in the bathroom, and he never wanted to play against me again lol. Aint that fucked up?? Lmao. Guess he took it serious
Loved playing this game with my dad too. Makes me sad that I don't have my Genesis anymore to show my own son now.
This is still the smoothest hitting game to date. The HRs felt so powerful.
I spent MANY hours playing this back in the day!
He dropped the ball, I can't believe it, I can't believe it!
I played an entire 162 game season of this when I was 11. I kept the stats for every game on a note pad. Jack Buck is hilarious in this game too!
Spoiler alert it was Lon Simmons not Jack Buck
Haha my brother and I also kept stats in a notebook.
THIS WAS MY SHIT GROWING UP!! My childhood best friend had a Genesis & we’d play this & NBA JAM TE all day long!!
same.
Damm. Memories. I'm 33 now used to play this and joe Montana sports talk football. Playing madden and mlb the show competitively now. Crazy
Genesis had tons of great sports games.
My cousin (who was a victim of the opioid crisis, RIP) used to play this game all the time! He also had the AAAAHHH!!! Real Monsters video game. He would bring his Genesis with him every year to my grandfather's house in Hickory, NC when we had our family gatherings on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter.
wow I sure remember this......11 years old and thinking this was awesome twas' great to be a 90's kid
this game, sports talk football and NHL 93-95 were games I played almost everyday as a kid, I still remember the voice and delayed play by play. I forgot senna super monaco gp 2 was another go too.
Oh man I loved sports talk baseball. We played this for hours on end. Big part of my childhood.
My friends and I would play this all day on rainy days. If it was sunny, we would play whiffle ball all day and after sundown it was back to sports talk baseball. I miss those days.
I couldn't begin to tell you how much time I spent playing this game as a kid! I loved this and Madden..
Wow, this is quite impressive. The play by play is pretty darn good
One of my favorite Baseball games growing up!
My favorite baseball game of all time!

very impressive. i don't know how it crammed so many words into the game
Impressive for the system. I loved the joe Montana sports talk football
Fake punt, hail mary would work every time
Hands-down the best baseball game on ths Sega Genesis. The gameplay mechanics are almost perfect.
Fire!!! I loved as a kid how they actually had their correct batting stances.
Loved this game as a kid, in all these years it's the only baseball game I played all 162 and playoffs (thank you mercy rule).
I remember Danny Tartabull being an absolute beast in this game.
I swear you recorded my game! Seattle was my team and my friend Jason always played with Atlanta. Wow.
Damn, Mitchell on Seattle hit a grand slam and was only credited with a 3 run homer. He also hit a solo homer which should've given him a 5 RBI day. David Justice hit and was credited with a slam. The final score SHOULD be 15-7.
They took the speech from the Parker Brothers baseball handheld game and put it on this game. Dunno how I didn't realize that as a kid.
I'm not even a huge fan of sports games, but this one is particularly nostalgic. I used to own it until some neighborhood kid stole it, fortunately I found a copy of it not long ago, though I suck at it now.

Dana Long I'll always prefer Skip Caray, Pete Van Weiren, and Don Sutton (RIP Boss), over Chip anyday.
1:11, the following intros for the team's local MLB broadcasts:
Chip Caray on FOX Sports South: "Hello again, everybody. Along with Joe Simpson, I'm Chip Caray welcoming you LIVE to Safeco Field in Seattle for the season premiere of Atlanta Braves Baseball where the Atlanta Braves take on the Seattle Mariners."
Steve Raible on AT&T Sports Seattle: "Hello everybody! LIVE from Safeco Field in Seattle, Washington, it is Seattle Mariners Baseball right here on AT&T Sports Seattle. Today, the Seattle Mariners play host to the Atlanta Braves. I'm Steve Raible alongside Harold Reynolds."
Awesome that you picked one of the memorable Braves teams. :)
As far as I remember, besides leading after 9 Innings you could also win by going ahead of the other Team by 10 Runs.
Man this brings back so many memories. This game, along with the Road Rash series, were my favorite Genesis games. This was a pretty revolutionary game for it's day. I'd still play it now if I still had it.
I came here to reminisce about all the unnecessary "throws to second, throws to first... and throws home" and I wasn't disappointed.
Man this takes me back, I loved this game 💯
The intro song still gets stuck in my head randomly to this day!
Played this game for HOURS!!! Great game great memories!!
This is the baseball nerd in me talking but I just realized Otis Nixon's number is listed as 35. That's Phil Niekro's retired number and it had been that way for several years by that point. What a strange error.
Never knew this existed! I mainly still play Sports Talk Football '93 and had no idea the same announcer was in this game!!
Anybody noticed how Sega made the logos in the in between innings screen for each of the teams as close to the actual MLB logo as possible? That was my favorite part of the whole entire game, because no other baseball video game back in the 16-bit era even came close to that.
This game brings back so many memories
One of my favorite games of all time
You had to play 3 games, yes 27 innings to save
Sega stadium 🏟️🏟️🏟️ 25:46 strike 1 strike 2
Wow mi infancia en un sólo videojuego. Sega es lo máximo desde República Dominicana bendiciones
Only game I’ve ever played a whole 162 game season plus playoffs. Summer of 92 in my parents basement. Randomly selected the Padres, Crimedog hit 80 + hr’s and Bip Robert’s hit the century mark in SB’s. Good times.
I remember I had to have this I was a huge Atlanta braves fan he sounds like Jack Buck
Such a great game!! The memories will last a lifetime.
The most fun I had with this game was rapidly tapping the button to change my infielders' positions, so the announcer would rap "INFIELD OUT, INFIELD IN, INFIELD NORMAL" over and over again.
Good Times!! Wish we could go back in time and do it all again
Hard but fair game. Wasn't cheese...just tough. The commentary was incredible for the time.
Did anyone pick up on the Edgar Martinez Grand Slam the game glitched and gave you a 3 run homer instead of a grand slam? Your score should have been 8-5 not 8-4 after that inning
Best baseball video game EVER!!! Jose Canseco ALWAYS homered when I played as the A’s.
I would like to dispute that out call at 2nd base please @3:32
I was ten yrs old when i had this game for sega genesis 😊
Man that music at the beginning brings back great memories
“Sin there with a double!”
I would just crush the AI with Oakland every time I played this. This game made me a '90s A's fan.
Anyone notice that only 3 runs scored on the grand slam?
I always used to laugh when the action would get really fast and the commentary would struggle to keep up.
To this day, I fear Chili Davis and Ron Gant coming up to the plate 😂
16:53 GRAND SLAM!
My dad and i used to play this. He knew all the tricks to beat the computer when stealing bases and bunting.
Top 5 all time best games on Sega
You could hit start a bunch of times quickly and the announcer would be saying timeout, timeout, timeout, timeout, for like 15 mins lol
The umpires look like wesley snipes in demolition man .
Nixon was not a home run hitter at all. Got singles like crazy but hit only 11 career home runs. Can't believe you homered with him twice in the game.
Funny this is... Otis Nixon hit two homeruns in 1992, and they were both off the same pitcher.
Looks great. Will give it a try.
So many memories
Great game played a lot back in the days 👍🕹👍🕹
A cut-and-paste hacking/localization of the Genesis Super League '91, in a similar way when Harmony Gold took Japanese shows and made a cut-and-paste translation into Robotech.
Lol Otis Nixon couldn’t hit a HR to save his life.
He hit two homeruns in 1992 and they were off the same pitcher.
The very first Sega Genesis Baseball game I ever owned/played.
I love this games commentary, it's impressive, but it's so difficult, how did you win so easily
The commentary sounds like a robot
It kind of does. Wish they implement it in any hockey games. Now THAT would make any hockey games awesome .
4:31 HOME RUN ⚾️ 🏟
Is there a ten run mercy rule in this game?
I love the goofy music, im guessing they spent most of the audio budget on the announcer and organ
This is a great game I just got it. It looked good so I bought it and was even more glad when I played it. It plays exactly like the original R.B.I. baseball in the arcade. It's better than the versions of that game on the systems though you can actually play a whole season without having to replace a battery for the saves
My all time favourite baseball game, had to play a full series to save
My friend and I used to play a number of games on Genesis on a regular basis. Of the sports ones, it was NHL Hockey, Madden, and this gem.
Originally, we were impressed with the announcing, but after awhile, we made fun of it, and left it off. We also got a kick out of the fake MLB logos for each team.
And they telling me they cant put announcers in rbi 17 nice video.
I sucked at this game but I loved it because of the talking. Blew my 9 year old mind
I never played this one, but I did play the hell out of Joe Montana's Sports Talk Football. lt sounds like the exact same voice actor.
I remember playing as the White Sox and exploiting glitches where you could make the computer runner to to second and end up throwing him out. That and if you get two strikes on the computer they would swing on the next pitch, as long as it was down the middle so you could throw it in the dirt and they’d still swing
Never had a genesis. Only super Nintendo. But this looks like it plays well and fun. Something I would enjoy.
I used to play the hell out of this with the Atlanta braves
loved this game!!
I used play the hell out this game!
In this game Howard Johnson aka HOJO always hit a monster Homerun.. He was the best player in this game.. All he did was hit a Homerun out of any of the 3 stadiums in the game
Where is the “HE DROPS IT” lol
Grand slam in the bottom of the 6th only scored 3 runs?
Good for Otis Nixon. 0 homeruns but hits 2 bombs in a row.
The game is in Seattle and the Braves are not using the DH.
I wore out a secondhand crt tv one sumer playing this game for days on end.
I remember this baseball game❤❤❤❤
You know, Sega Stadium looks an awful lot like old Busch Stadium. Is it just a coincidence?
anyone know how the developers crammed so many voices into these games? super impressive. i wonder if the same developing team could have done this on the snes
Konami/Diamond Head did something of a similar, if not greater extent with the Powerful Pro Yakyuu games
Probably because the game only has one playing field, so it left a lot of room left for samples.
My early 20s thank god I got to experience the changes in video games we kept saying how can it get any better 🤓
