Another Jinjer Pisces reaction I haven't seen yet! :) Me and a few others make a hobby of watching reactions to this song :) A few tidbits I've learned about Tatiana and the band: "Heavy Vocals" a.k.a. the growl utilises a different part of the throat - the part that we use to make a heave sound (when you lift something heavy, for example). It took Tatiana 12 years to train her growl this way. But this is how she can switch cleanly between the two styles. Another bit of info: This video was made to highlight their new drummer Vlad, who has had no formal training in drums - he is a classically trained pianist who taught himself so he could play in Jinjer. Rabbit, fam, you're one of the people that makes RUclips a great place to be sometimes. Thank you for bringing the fantastic genre twisting music of Jinjer to more people! I love their energy, how tight they are, how down to earth they are, the heaviness mixed with complexity and groove, beautiful singing and growling and especially Tatiana's lyrics! The first time I heard Pisces in 2019, I hadn't liked any metal with growling and it took me a few listens to start liking it, but now Tatiana is my favorite vocalist and Jinjer my favorite band (Pisces has been my wake up alarm for a few years and I still love it more every time I hear it, snooze is a thing of the past). TLDR: skip to the last paragraph 😂 Sorry for the long comment, I just love Jinjer too much and love seeing people discover (and usually fall in love with) them and each of their songs! My three favorite comments about Jinjer that I've seen, "terrifying levels of talent", "I hate it when a Jinjer song ends", and a mother quoting her four year old wanting to see the "lion lady" 🤣 All four current members of Jinjer have essentially no formal musical training except Vlad the drummer who studied classical piano. For most of their songs, the three guys write most of the instrument music, then Tatiana writes most of the lyrics and melodies (she gets tons of well deserved credit for her vocal and stage performance abilities, but maybe not quite enough for her lyrical and musical composition abilities). Eugene composes some - he wrote the instrument music for one song on Wallflowers and a few songs on other albums, and I know that apart from his amazing work on the bass, he adds riffs and has written lyrics for a few Jinjer songs. Jinjer has been a tour-heavy band, touring almost nonstop from 2013 to 2020 and much of the time since then (with interruptions by covid and the US backed coup/proxy war), hard work that has made them fantastic live performers. Other favorites are I Speak Astronomy, Retrospection, Words of Wisdom, Just Another, Captain Clock, Scissors, Exposed As A Liar, I Want It I'll Get It, A Plus Or A Minus, Dip A Sail, When Two Empires Collide, lainnereP, Prologue and Beggar's Dance (those last two are short album bookends that could do well together in one reaction if you're so inclined). I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken 2019, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official is the studio audio with some great footage from several shows), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video). The guitarist pressed the button to switch his guitar from acoustic to distortion. Tatjana doesn't have a button, she's just a metal singer. The song is about the star sign Pisces and its dual nature. Fun fact: In the first interviews, the band didn't know why they were called Jinjer. They were founded in Ukraine in 2008 and by 2015 they had completely replaced it. There are no founding members left in the band, which is why no one was involved in the name choice. That's why they now say 2009 was the year they were founded, because that was the year Tatjana took over the microphone. In 2016 they had their international breakthrough with Pisces.

The one line that most of the lyrics sites gets wrong is the one about scale armor. It actually is "scale armor belies virgin innocence.' As in having scale (like a fish) armor (like emotional armor) belies (gives the lie to) any professed virgin innocence. You don't build.up emotional armor by being an innocent.

This is 8 years old now and nowhere near the level that they are now. This song is also a one off for them and the band actually hates this song because they never usually do any kind of power ballads. They just recently did an interview and live studio session that blows this out of the water. Look up Jinjer From Nothing by Audiotree.

I haven't found a Jinjer song I don't love, so I think you can't go wrong if you choose any of them, but a few good choices might be Perennial (official and/or live at Wacken 2019, both are must-see), Teacher Teacher (official is the studio audio with some great footage from several shows), Judgement & Punishment (official and/or Tatiana's one take performance, again both must-see), Pit of Consciousness (official and/or live in Kiev/Kyiv, a third where both are absolutely must-see) or the heartwrenching plea against war in Home Back (official video).

Fun fact: In the first interviews, the band didn't know why they were called Jinjer. They were founded in Ukraine in 2008 and by 2015 they had completely replaced it. There are no founding members left in the band, which is why no one was involved in the name choice. That's why they now say 2009 was the year they were founded, because that was the year Tatjana took over the microphone. In 2016 they had their international breakthrough with Pisces.

The one line that most of the lyrics sites gets wrong is the one about scale armor. It actually is "scale armor belies virgin innocence.' As in having scale (like a fish) armor (like emotional armor) belies (gives the lie to) any professed virgin innocence. You don't build.up emotional armor by being an innocent.

This is 8 years old now and nowhere near the level that they are now. This song is also a one off for them and the band actually hates this song because they never usually do any kind of power ballads. They just recently did an interview and live studio session that blows this out of the water. Look up Jinjer From Nothing by Audiotree.
