Dude, even with all those setbacks, you kept pushing. Crashes, that crazy stick, broken spoke, not to mention the arm pump you had to have! Kudos man, you were shreddin!
Thanks man! I really enjoyed the event and making this video! Super stoked people are enjoying it as well! I'll definitely be doing some more events and videos in the near future! Got my eyes on the the upcoming Cranksgiving Enduro at Rock Creek/Kanuga!
@@WanderingWheeliesMTB always thought it would be cool to try it but I really don’t know my way around the area enough to go and practice before hand. this is especially concerning trying to do it solo. Unfortunate the area took such a hit from the storm, so hope you guys are ok. Maybe you would be willing to do an RSVP lead group ride over two days sometime before the event to guide through the trails.
@@jakewagner5469 I totally get that. I’ve been biking in Pisgah for years and it definitely takes some time to find your way! I’ve actually been thinking about putting together a monthly RSVP group right for subscribes and locals. We could definitely do this area sometime! But yeah…it might be awhile…the storm here was terrible and the destruction is so widespread…it will be awhile before trails are even back to rising shape :(
Sick race! You were hauling down those trails. Every time I watch one of your videos it just makes me want to make a trip down there even more. Looks incredible!
I was definitely throwing down! My fitness definitely held me back a bit from doing my best. All those slip ups or wrecks were because I could barely feel my arms at those points 😅. Gonna start training a bit harder now though! I wanna win one of these! You should definitely visit if you get the chance. I know people that have ridden all over the world and still choose Pisgah. You can see a few Pros in my video that live in this region too who choose to live and train here! It’s a top MTB destination for sure! We also have all the new bike parks and Berm Park now as well to add some variety
It definitely hurt! I could barely hold on by the bottom of heartbreak! And yes, I’m gonna start training a little more intentionally moving forward. Definitely looking forward to the next race! Might do the Kanuga enduro 🤙🏼
Thanks man! It was a GNARLY one!Everyone went silent haha! Glad I’m ok too! The bike will need a little love though after that while day lol. I’ve got some scrapes and bruises and was a little stiff the day after but I’m good to go!
I love racing and going fast! Was definitely pinned that day! Too bad for my mistakes and spoke breaking! But thats racing....on to the next one! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Kitsuma is amazing but heartbreak (particularly the upper, Stage 1) is the big daddy trail of the Old Fort area. It makes Kitsuma feel like a chill flow trail haha!
Awesome effort...way to persevere! My then 11 and 8 y/o and myself rode Kitsuma a couple of years back...I forget the name of the trailhead we started at, but made the climb and descent and then rode an old service road back to the trailhead. Such a great trail! Gotta earn that downhill though!
Thank you! Was it the trailhead by the interstate? That’s awesome though, that’s a gnarly trail for kids but more power to yall! If I had kids I would definitely be that dad with the kids in tote on bikes haha!
@@WanderingWheeliesMTB Yes, I recall paralleling the interstate for a 1/4 mile or so before jumping into the woods and starting the climb. My youngest was on a 20" wheeled rigid at the time and rode every bit of it!...maybe not very fast, but rode it nonetheless. Hope to see more vids, great stuff!
@@ehess8845 That is amazing and quite impressive though that they rode that trail on a 20" rigid! Thats a feat in of itself! I know there used to be a rigid class for this race I did....maybe a future competitor??? Thanks for the support! Excited to make more videos! Headed out today to ride and film....stay tuned!
Super gnarly! The bikes a little beat up but not toooo bad! Need to address my wheels as I broke a spoke and both wheels are a bit woobbly! By the end of the race I was all over the place!
Thanks man! I gotta get some stuff checked over on my bike after all the carnage on race day but then will be back at it! Still want to get together for a Bent Creek ride once the bike is ready...again...haha!
Thanks man! And trust me my guy I know.... Money has been tight lately though so I'm making due til I can afford a new one. Really looking forward to that day!
Yep only 3 this year. And yes the stages are very long compared to any other enduro races I have done. You could probably spilt stage 1 and 3 into two stage a piece to be honest. Hopefully next year they add the new “Lower Heartbreak Trail” as a 4th stage next year. But it’s a big day…I feel more worked after this race than some 6 stage races I’ve done

Thanks man! Yeah I just keep going haha! Yeah I had some unlucky moments but super stoked to end up where I did!
Sending it wow, nice work just glad your not hurt.
Meee toooo! The bike took the most damage. Bringing my wheels in to get rebuilt this week as the race finished them off! Two dents!
This was rad, thanks for sharing your experience. Helpful for those considering checking this race out!

I was hurting just watching you bomb down all that for so long. Plus the climbing! You have a shiny new goal to focus on over the next year.

Nice Work! I rode that trail years ago and it's no joke! You were moving. Good job on continuing to push despite your setbacks!
