There are a number of different styles of tengu statues, this is of the crow variety or a “karasu tengu.” Tengu are mythological figures in Japanese folklore, somewhat chaotic in nature as they are thought to be both dangerous and protective. They are also claimed to have trained many of the early samurai.

@@unclesham5507 Yes, Tengu are a type of yokai (japanese folkloric monsters, ghosts, or spirits) They're depicted in one of two ways: either as crow-people or like old men with long noses. It's like a forest spirit that can be found in mountainous regions and they usually can fly and may control the wind or carry a magic fan or leaf that can generate powerful gusts. Really interesting stuff.
The reason you didn't see the candelabra floating in the endless hallway is because it's been removed for refurbishment. There is a perfect spot for the Hatbox Ghost just outside the attic window - you'd be able to see him as you "fall" out of the window backwards. I really don't like where they've placed him at all.

The Haunted Mansion was my old stomping grounds for 34 years; I was known as the Old Man of the Mansion. I would stand against the wall and not move until someone would stand right next to me.

Yes, that is Felix the Cat. The clip comes from a 1929 Felix cartoon, "One Good Turn".
No, Felix is not a Disney character, but he was a major source of inspiration (many times blatant plagiarism) for Disney's Alice Comedies, as well as Oswald and Mickey. The trademark for Felix is currently owned by Universal, but the majority of his classic shorts are public domain.

In the "The Cats in the Bag" by Real Moving Pictures, this is a character named Julius the Cat, which was even before Oswald the Lucky Rabbit and Mickey Mouse. He was intentionally similar in design to Felix the Cat.

6:22 If I remember correctly from my childhood, those penny viewers used to be in a penny arcade that was there on Main Street. My brain remembers it being on the left side of Main Street after entering through the msin gate. This was YEARS ago! Does my heart good to see that Disney didn’t get rid of them when they got rid of the penny arcade itself.

Careful with the Turkey legs, I was at a Renaissance Festival where one of the actor's was walking around chewing on a Turkey Leg when he started chocking and had to be given the Heimlich maneuver. The leg was apparently pretty dry.

Typically when the Omni mover rides slow down like that it’s because someone is transferring from a scooter or wheelchair in the handicap loading area, that’s why it resolves very quickly - happens on Spaceship Earth and Haunted Mansion a lot, but you probably are familiar with! 😉

Oh, you guys definitely hit some of my favorite things. I'm just glad you both survived those spinning tea pots, lol!!! I think Brair rabbit should be remembered, and a monument should go in that little cementary. They were quick putting Mr. Toad in there! Looks like the parks are picking up in crowds. I know they had college level pompom squads and different dance groups competitions for national titles. Then they always have cheer teams compete with colleges and h.s them different cheer gyms. Which goes clear into April. Why did they have the California version of soarin? Are they going to re‐film one for WDW? Keep up the great work

Love to see you two friends together ! Enjoying a day at the park. I was there w my grands we spent too much time waiting in line for Jungle Cruise, which was so boring. I really wanted to do the haunted mansion since i only rode 1 ride , jungle cruise , otherwise I was in charge of sleeping or feeding little one in his stroller while the others in my group rode all the rides. Not worth my ticket price. Honestly. Like in my situation, Disney could give special passes for the situation. I could have worn a special bracelet saying NO RIDER .. and just enjoyed the time with my grands ..we actually waited for jungle cruise for over 2 hours. Ridiculous ..and sad for that kinda money spent there.
I am disabled but can walk ok for now , prognosis is not good for my future. Does Disney allow folks in wheelchairs to have a special pass that indicates they can only ride certain things like the train or ferryboat ??? Or do they pay full park prices like able bodied people???

Felix the Cat is IP of NBC Universal, so here again there’s an inexplicable mishmash of IPs between Disney and NBC Universal.
As for Splash Mountain retirement and replacement Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, for many people they will be disgruntled for the rest of their lives. Others will let go of the past and find the new theming enjoyable and place the attraction onto their list of fond experiences.

Unpopular opinion but I prefer the reservation system. Now I’m nervous to go only to find out that the parks are at capacity. Apparently Disney thinks crowds will be “normal” this year.
