The Cypress Gardens LEGOLAND banyan tree (one single tree!) was originally planted as a seedling in 1939 by the original owners, Dick and Julie Pope. It was placed in a 5 gallon bucket and delivered to it’s location in a wheelbarrow. Banyan trees are a type of fig tree native to India. These organisms begin life as an epiphyte, germinating in the crevices of a host tree or other structures. Banyans have a hanging root system which will become the support pillars for the branches as the tree grows.
My childhood in Florida wasn't always great, but nothing makes a better climbing tree than a banyan (don't climb on this one of course) such beautiful trees ❤ The Mangroves in Florida and the islands that they form are also pretty amazing if anybody wants to see another really cool type of tropical tree species in the area look em up.
My daughter got married at the Cypress Gardens gazebo and held her reception at Cypress Gardens! There is a huge banyan tree on Maul that survived the terrible fire - it has been an iconic symbol of Maui for a hundred years !
I have a picture of my grandparents standing in that chapel gazebo taken by my mother sometime in the late 1940s , and I remember the Cypress Gardens water show quite well from my own younger days. It's nice to see at least a vestige of it still there.
Absolutely love the Lego horses and the Cypress Gardens. That tree was so gorgeous. ❤ I laughed so hard at the face you made when the coaster suddenly stopped. 😂
Thank you for visiting the Cypress Gardens area of the park. It brought back great memories of 1968 when my family visited. It was a beautiful tranquil place with lovely gardens, amazing boat rides through the canals, and seeing the Banyan trees and Cypress. I remember the Southern Belles waving at us as we glided by in our boat. And that ski show was quite spectacular too! Lots of ski jumps over those ramps, and the pyramids they would build on their shoulders! It was great entertainment back in a simpler day. Thank you for bringing those great memories back to me. 😊
Visited Cypress Gardens as a child on my first trip to Florida from my North Carolina home. The water ski show was great. I also loved the ladies dressed so beautifully in their antebellum gowns. Went back as an adult just to relive my childhood memories. Thanks for another visit. The gardens are lovely. Safe travels, Jacob.
I loved this. My brother took his family not long ago. He has a Lego store online . I have just begun building Lego to relax me. Just wish they were not so expensive. That tree was so amazing! It's so magical.
Just loved you expression when dragon roller coaster did fast stop. Was priceless. Thanks for letting us enjoy all the rides thru your videos. Love you and Jenn. ❤😳🙁😂
9:14! That expression of yours as the coaster comes to a sudden halt is PRICELESS!!! I have to share with you, Jacob, I'm 62 and last Oct., inspired by you, I celebrated my birthday at HersheyPark. I had SUCH a blast, except I got sick on the first thrill coaster during the "night before preview" Hershey lets you enjoy. And I was SO SICK after that coaster I thought "I can't go on coasters anymore!" But then I see you going on gentler coasters and I remember there were some of the not-so-heavy-duty coasters I could enjoy. I would not know about any of these were it not for you. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing all of your adventures, alone and with sweet Jenn, with us!
I used to work for Merlin Entertainment at a location just a few miles away from LEGOLAND! We only went to the park once for a Christmas party (I only worked there for a year), but it's so cool to see it again! I hope the Florida summer heat isn't too hard on you!
Who remembers Lego for having stood on some with bear feet.!!!!!!! Ouch.. However I still love It.. Great theme park Jacob very little ones friendly XXX
VERY interesting park with lots of COOL rides,!!! Cypress Gardens were one of our mainstay attractions we would ALWAYS go to when we were kids in the 1960's n 1970:s on our annual Florida vacation, so I am so glad it is STILL there in a way!!! All in all a good video!!!Attaboy, Carpetbagger!!!
Thanks for showing this. I always wanted to see a video of this place, but I only watch you or adam so call me loyal😊 I never been to Legoland but I've been to the gardens when I was 6
If you come to the NY Legoland in Chester, NY on the weekends from August 17th through October 6th (and Labor Day, as well), you can also visit the New York Renaissance Faire in Tuxedo, NY - not very far away at all. If you do come to the faire, be sure to stop by On Glass Wings, the stained glass booth at #26 Village Green and say Good Morrow!
It always fun to see ya at a lego land park make me want to go to the one just outside San Diego, I feel like I want to go there one day with my friends. I really do miss Lego Land
If you find yourself down here in the Fort Myers area of SW Florida check out the Edison & Ford Winter Estates. There's another very nice banyan tree there and it's just a cool museum anyway.
First time i went to lego land( CA) was three years ago. N i cried because what i always wanted in my childhood finally came super late. Im 34 now. I recall when they opened at 1998 -99i really wanted to go
I used to work at legoland California. We had exactly the same guy on the bench, the one with the mohawk, but he was balding. I guess they added the mohawk for fun. I wonder if they did it at both parks, or if this is just a florida thing. I hope it's different. Sometimes I find it sad that both parks have so so many of the same builds. Seems like it would be more fun to have more variety.
I hope you get a chance to check out the new rides at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Tampa. I am go glad you are checking out Legoland. Do they allow filming on the rides at Legoland? I hope Six Flags and the Cedar parks change their mind about filming. Thanks for sharing.
2:19 Hey Jacob, I think your RUclips career is over because Disney will be knocking on your door soon to cast you as Chewbacca in the next movie for sure!
How did you get to go to Legoland with no kids? Hubby and I wanted to go to LegoLand and were told we couldn't go unless we had kids . Did the rules change?

When I was a little girl in the 1950s, My grandmother had A View-Master with slides of Cypress Gardens. I dreamed of going there someday.

I used to work for Merlin Entertainment at a location just a few miles away from LEGOLAND! We only went to the park once for a Christmas party (I only worked there for a year), but it's so cool to see it again! I hope the Florida summer heat isn't too hard on you!

Legos were nostalgic for me too! Thank you for sharing Lego Land with us
It's probably the neatest themed park I've seen on your tour.
Such a enjoyable experience for you and myself to watch
Wow! Your Chewbacca Impersonation was spot on. 😂
My parents took me to Cypress Gardens in the early 1980s. I remember all the beautiful flowers and the water ski shows. 😊
It's beautiful there! You can also find banyan trees at the Ringling Museum in Sarasota and across the pond in St Pete.
LETS GET IT JACOB! thanks for posting again dude, starting it now
Sir I immediately thought of you when I heard that camel escaped haha
After the camels got out at Cedar Point, the goats got out a week later. 😅 First time I’ve really seen Legoland… very cool!

The Easter Island heads are called “ moai” which means “statue” in the Rapa Nui language.

My son and I love legos!
Jacob, you can do your next road trip to visit small, bad museums. For example, Peaks Island Maine has an Umbrella Cover museum.
I have a sofa painting from there back when it used to be Cypress gardens
Love the Lego horses but walks away from the ones on the circle. 🤣
I love the tree as well so pretty that's for sharing your trios with us I really appreciate it be safe on your travels
Looking like Jake Elwood with those 3D glasses on.

Banyan tree is actually only one tree. It just has a lot of I guess you'd say the limbs that have grown together.
You rock!
Its so weird seeing you ride the dragon ride. It's identicle to the one in its motherland, denmark :D
Good morning Jacob 🤓📸✌️ LEGO Land sound awesome to see. Thanks for sharing this. Stay safe.
That Chewbacca impersonation sounded like Dr Evil dying a slow death.
I enjoyed it so much thank you again 😁
It was a lot of fun watching your Lego land video. I've only been to the one in CarlsbadCarlsbad californa.
What camera and mic is Jacob using now, video and sound are great! I know he was having issues when he first made changes
A fun place!
I only go to the Jefferson Memorial when I'm trying to help my dad save the wasteland by completing the purity project.
never stand on a wet spot on the pavement at an amusement park unless you're ready to get wet! lol
So much saner then Disney.
I would love too go too lego land it looks like a fun park
Let it Rain 😂

I hope you get a chance to check out the new rides at SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Tampa. I am go glad you are checking out Legoland. Do they allow filming on the rides at Legoland? I hope Six Flags and the Cedar parks change their mind about filming. Thanks for sharing.
Everyone knows the pain of stepping on one unexpectedly.
Cool video
Fun fact so Lego sold Legoland to Merlin Entertainment then years later Lego ended up purchasing a majority stake in Merlin Entertainment.
Geez, Jacob, you can’t shoot 😂
Driving us crazy!
What print is on your shirt?
I thought thay was Alastors cane on your shirt for a second
There is a lego land in NY too
Sadly my kids outgrew legoland a few years ago but I think it's a great park
They were forced to preserve the gardens in order to obtain that land because of the history and endangerous land. And preservation.
Good video!
Next stop Mega Bloks Land.
The camels at Cedar Point wanted to find you and bite you
I went to Legoland in California YEARS ago. Also, your expressions on the coasters are priceless! Hope you have a great day today Jacob!
Wow Lego land in Florida looks so much fun the one in Illinois is not nearly as good as that one
🤩
2:19 Hey Jacob, I think your RUclips career is over because Disney will be knocking on your door soon to cast you as Chewbacca in the next movie for sure!
Is Peppa Pig Land included with the Legoland ticket or is that completely separate?
I know what your problem is, the Lincoln memorial was too crowed.
