  • The Hudson Bay Tomahawk is a rugged, practical tomahawk that is not afraid to tackle camp tasks. Nothing like owning a piece of history.
    The Kydex is from an eBay seller ratherbewheelin

    Hey, click on a random YT video and see one of my sheaths in the wild! I hope it is still serving you well! Great looking handle on that hawk by the way, really like the dot patterning!

      I am thinking about getting another handle and shortening it a bit.

    When I get mine, tomorrow. I will take the head to the local hardware store, and find a machine screw that fits that hold. I will use Blue Loctite on the screw, when I screw it into the hole. Now do this with the handle off. And make sure, that the screw is flush with the inside of the eye. Trim off extra screw, sand flush. Finish handle, so its a nice tight fit, and you will have one good looking hawk. And yes I throw hawks, but I also use them when camping and hunting.

    My Hudson Bay Tomahawk from Kult of Athena was delivered today. Oddly enough the head to handle fit was pretty good. I removed the set screw and just had to do a little pit of sanding, fit is really good now. However, I've used garden hoe's that where sharper. So dug out my Ken Onion Work sharp, put the grinding attachment on it, and it is sharpening up nicely. I will be making a leather blade cover and belt frog. Pat your cat for me. I love Cats :) The "coating" on mine looks actually pretty good. Its not shiny black paint. Its more rustic looking.

      It was a joy to see what I could do. I haven’t done anymore for a while, say at least a couple of years. Have to be in the mood, inspired and then it happens quickly.

    If your going to throw the hawk. Leave the handle alone. Its all balanced to throw well. If you shorten it, it will be head heavy. Bad balance.

    Thumbs up for the kitty. Do you ever use this thing, or do you just dress it up and throw it in the closet?

      Presently it resides in a closet. Working on moving to the mountains and then it’s anything goes after that.

    Mine came so loose the head rattles.

      Have you tightened the set screw?

    • @haveaknifeday
      @haveaknifeday  3 года назад

      You might drill a small way into the handle and with a longer set screw be able to bleep it more secure

    • @longrider42

      Ditch the set screw completely. Take sand paper and a good wood rasp and fit the handle to the head proper like. There are video's here on RUclips on how to do that.

      +1 to James Hart. Friction fit the head and the hawk comes into its own
