  • From ibis Lucerne to Engelberg was an easy 30 minutes’ drive. There are two attractions to choose from. It was either the cable car rides up Titlis or Ristis. The thing about travelling during winter’s end is that one should always call the cable car operators to check if everything is operational. We wanted to go all the way up Mount Titlis but the cable car was closed for maintenance for a few days. So, we missed Titlis Cliff Walk which was part of our itinerary. It was a bummer, a big one. Trübsee was the midway point and as non-skiers, that’s the only place we were allowed to get to. No ski, no going up further up the mountain. We thought we did be at Trübsee and back in a jiffy. But noooooo….. we ended up spending the whole day having fun and chilling out at that one spot. There is a restaurant there where we had lunch. There is a lake that was frozen over, and next to it snowmobiles for rent. And the free snow tubes that were just sprawled around the cable car station, we lost count how many times we had been on it. Before we knew it, it was already late afternoon. And then it was a scenic drive back to our hotel with an early dinner in between.
