It's funny how many people are going on about how fire mage is saved now but their buffs aren't currently working in pvp either but nobody tests anything anymore. Glad ret is fixed at least.
is this confirmed? I had a fire mage blowing me up earlier and it felt powerful
@@SIIKAP1 I've tested it. Yes something is definitely wrong with it and it's not surprising since ret were all bugged it makes you wonder what other classes aren't doing correct damage the problem is only pve'rs test anything anymore.

You know what I would love to see from Templar now in PvP? A big improvement to Execution Sentence!
These buffs were much needed and much appreciated. The only thing I wish they would have done is buff ES over FR.
I switched to Templar today in mythic plus and it gave me a significant increase in overall DPS compared to HOTS yesterday.
LOL i did lower Overall then before with Herold, i think Herold Do a lot more dps on Mt but St sucks a little. Or i suck as templer😂

So glad this is fixed. Love the Templar play style. What do you think of Execution Sentence cast right before Hammer of Light? Seems like it might be bursty. Does Final Reckoning just contribute that much more DPS?

That's the current seasons weapon illusion
Yeah it’s called Holy Fire I believe but you get that enchant appearance at 1950
Why do we throw Final Reckoning befor Wake of Ashes? Shouldn't we FR after Wake so that we can maximize how much spenders we are fitting in the FR window?

I wondered the same thing but I’m pretty sure it’s because you want that crusade buff you get from wake to be up as long as you can and want no delay between your wake of ashes and hammer of light.
@@tazerface4641that’s it exactly, w radiant glory crusade is very short, and FR is basically the same duration, so 1 global spared inside crusade is the best option. W normal crusade I would only send FR when I would be at 7/10 stacks

You send Final Reck before Wake because if you radiant glory wake and get immediately CCd you then have to come out of the CC and prepare another global for final reck, then use hammer of light and by that time your target might be out of range, or a defensive used etc. In PvE it could be better to wake then FR but in PvP it’s safer to use FR before Wake because you want to prio holy power spenders in crusade.
I'm trying out ret now with RGB's and I like it for executes. Can you go over the appropriate times to use survivability buffs and skills? I'll find myself in oh crap moments use one and then put myself into a worse situation because lay on hands is grayed out or something else. I've got damage down but utility is a little more complicated with the other classes burst right now.

@@turbo448 herald and temp are completely different. Temp is all about single target. Obviously herald did good group damage but these buffs make temp a stand out choice for burst

Noticing that my self yesterday after the hotfix, it is indeed a better day. In terms of dmg our dmg is increased by a lot, I’ve done some arena and now u can at least feel the pressure on the target. Now they need to fix our survivability and we are defo viable to compete in higher tier games. The current status is against certain classes unfortunately u still have no chance at all by default xpecially mages…theyr a total nightmare for us. But in the end I feel like more a Ret again now and when I press that button ppls notice that. Let’s hope this will be the right direction. Enjoy the new Templar everyone.

Hmm, fix is not live for me in germany - I am on version 11.0.2.56819. Still only the one initial Hammer of Light possible.
so just finished a 0-6 solo shuffle against arms, feral, and dev. First off cool, glad to see Templar get some love. Now to the games. Feral and dev outdmging me and the warrior by 30k with significant uptime on them, their tankiness completely outclassing Ret in the worst ways. Hammer of Light our supposed big hit was hitting for 785k while ferocious bites hitting for over 1.3mil, dev mindlessly channeling disinegrate ticks for 400-600k range on avg, and then getting deleted with a demolish for 2.1 million. Yea this was completely stupid and one of the worse experiences to date in PvP for me as Ret. Spamming heals and WoG my health bar is not moving, I die through defensives outside of BoP and LoH fix can not come soon enough. Terrible state atm for solo shuffle where you get bullied, spammed cc, snared and deleted through defensives

Hmm can’t say I had the same experience yesterday. My hammer of light is typically about 1.5-1.9mil non crit with crits somewhere averaging around 2.2-2.4 mil.

@@robertoalvarez2935 also forgot to mention get the crafted sword if you don’t already have it. Lvladen has a guide he made the first day of the expansion how he geared the first day and he shows you how to get it.
I feel like herald is still better consistently especially during moments of cleave in arenas

Templar cleave is equivalent now I’d say. Empyrean hammer and lights hammer cleave buffs feel huge!

New PvP here, when do I ideally HoJ? After blade I assume?
It’s pretty situational, say for example you are in a pure 1v1 you should HoJ right after the final reckoning before the wake of ashes in this set up. That will almost guarantee a trinket in a duel or rare BG 1v1. In arenas you want to HoJ whenever you can get cross CC on a healer and a dps at the same time or if you have easy access to a healer for solo CC before your burst chain, again might be situational but usually in that scenario it’s after the BoJ and judge but before the final reckoning.

If you are purely sitting a base then herald might be a bit better for 1v1s with eternal flame but in general I’d say Templar is better now and is likely what I’m going to play in the majority of my games.

Probably after the paladin class tree rework I will. FoL will be atronger with a talent in there.

I don't have many time to play, that's why i play only one charactere at time, i was on the paladin PVP but i got roasted so i switchted to DK pve, I would like to come back to my paladin but don't wanna be trash again, do you think it is the time or wait a bit more ? (and this is also why i follow this channel since long time ago lol)
I had a lot of success with it in 3s and solo shuffle yesterday. I think it’s good!
herald still feels better in most cases, but the templar is more fun

Right now vers>mast>haste=crit. It’s really too hard to get a 3rd or 4th stat up right now because of early expansion gear. Just focus on getting as much vers and mast in pvp as you can. In PvE it’s mast>haste=crit>vers for Templar PvE.
I am not gonna play crusading strike auto attack talent even if it will be OP
You should try it. I thought the same thing but it honestly feels smoother without it but it’s really up to you
Well the good thing is Templar strikes only got better with the buffs due to the fact we run burn to ash and penitence now! I’ll likely still play some Templar strikes games.
@@LvladenPvP I was never liked the idea of the auto attack but I decided to try it thanks to you and I’m liking it. On the training dummy I used to get around 12 mil after my main rotation and now it’s sitting around 20 mil thanks to the buffs and your guides they’re amazing for us pally mains. Appreciate all your testing and updates bro.

Empyrean Legacy and Expurgation are useless for Templar. Stop using them.
No they’re not, expurgation allows you to take holy flames which buffs your hammer of light. You are also spamming blade of justice to maintain shake the heavens and the DoT rolls over. Empyrean legacy is just as effective for Templar as any other talent set up and there’s no reason not to take it, it is also buffed by holy flames.

you cant have the reall burst untill they remove the need of holy power for the big hammer.
one of the reasons that people play herald more than temp is because heral is very smooth and easier.
I think it’s fine considering the damage you do with hammer of light! You just have to use 2 more holy power than a final verdict. And spam your hammer of wrath and blade of justice after to maintain the shake the heavens buff.

thats the way of fighting.
if they remove the need of holy power when you use your wake of ash. you can do the big hammer and wake of ash in 1 seconds.
then you can use the other spells.
but atm (sometimes) when you use your wake of ash you can clearly see that your big hammer is ready but you dont have enough holy power to use it.
its not my personal opinion. numbers wont lie.
