Billy I hope you'd do this on your Disney days. Pretty please.
I love movies but because of circumstances I am alone and just watching Movie Reviewers like yourself lessens that aloneness and loneliness that I'm feeling.
Thank you in advance. :)
My favorite Pixar Movies is Inside Out or the Incredibles movies
i think giulia's dad assumed luca and alberto were either runaways or orphans, and that's why he never asked about their parents. to him all that mattered was that someone was looking out for them, so he took on that role. honestly best kind of parent.
I always saw it that way too. The look he gives them through those brows when he first meets them has that vibe
Exactly, and this is based in the time when Italy had a dictatorship, so a lot of kids were orphans due to their parents being murdered
I thought it was that his was a time where parents were not worried about their kids and just let them do whatever like the 70s. They were not always worried about them being kidnapped or whatever. It was lenient.
@@gabrielleduplessis7388 maybe in the US, but that vibe was not the same in most other countries during the 70s
Nope
Alberto has a little scar on his left arm and when someone asked the director on Twitter about it he said the harpoon grazed him and I swear I never cried faster for a fictional character's injury.
Ohh wow that’s sad 😔
Poor Alberto.:(
This actually makes me like Alberto even more. He got hurt by a weapon that could kill him, but it didn't stop him from loving and exploring the human world 🥺
Did he say which harpoon? The one at the beginning or the one Ercole threw when he exposed himself to Giulia
@@pamayapaya Probably the one at the beginning.
WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THE FACT THAT HE HAS NEVER SEEN RATATOUILLE
👏🏻 this
Ratatouille must be next!
I did and now he has to watch it lol.
My thoughts exactly!
Omg
When Luca calls Alberto a sea monster.
Top Ten Anime Betrayals.
Though the same 🤣
I mean Alberto was pushing Luca so they betrayed each-other, not one sided.
I was watching Luca and thinking, “Pixar usually rips my heart out and stomps on it; Luca hasn’t done that yet, it’s just a fun movie.” Then the train scene at the end came and I was like, “oh! Ok! There it is. I’m gonna go cry my eyes out now.”
Personally, when Alberto came in running with the umbrella so Luca didn't have to expose himself but did it anyway for Alberto was where I was in absolute shambles 😭😭😭
I am glad that it is not a final goodbye. They will see each other again. It will be a while though, but yeah that moment got me too.
I honestly didn’t cry or become sad for this Pixar movie
I like how Luca and his friend are enjoying their lives while his mom and dad are just throwing some random kids into the water😂😂
like what if they found him by doing that?? The whole town would see he's a sea monster! XD
@@HyperfixationStation at this point they both were looking for their child , they wouldn't care if others find out about them
I have water
😂😂😂
Alberto is such a good character the way they show his jealousy and compulsive lying leads up to his father abandoning him is such great storytelling
Billy: I don’t follow orders!
Also Billy: I was in the military!
😂😂😂
Maybe that's why it's a 'was'.
I feel like he got better grades in grammar than me 😂😂
I was thinking the same thing
😂😂😂
omggg him calling julia "baby wendy" LOL
Billy, I just noticed you color coordinate really well with the movies you watch. I wondered have you ever studied the color palette, cause your hue game is on point. Peace.
Actually no I don’t 😂 it’s honestly by coincidence if that does happen. I don’t do that on purpose. I’m not coordinated in that way honestly 😂
Coulda fooled me. 😄
@@BillyBinges then you're accidentally very very stylish,sir!
Luca and Giulia are about 13 and Alberto is 14.
This movie brings me a crazy amount of happiness. It's so fucking cute and the end destroys me but I love it so much.
check his safety guidelines billybinges
Luca, Alberto and Giulia are around 13-15 right?
When luca was dizzy, and fish were swimming around his head, it was a play on a cartoon seeing stars.
You get it? Because Luca still thinks the stars are fish!
I thought it was just because he was a fish, like him saying "oh carp", and his mom saying "oh sharks", but I guess that works, too. 😂
I loved your analysis of "they all just want anybody to love them"
That's such a theme in this movie
This whole movie was also just a huge queer metaphor. The people are dangerous, finding people who love you as you are, alberto being so jealous of guilia, alberto being shunned after "coming out" as a seamonster, the found family trope, everything. It's just so beautiful.
Yess! I saw me and my queer found family in this so much
100%, there's a great video essay on how Luca hits every step of the q ueer storyline and the allegory, intended or not, is undeniable. The getting beat up in the alley "get out of my town," the "you got me off the island" being about helping someone be open with who they are, the "some people will never accept him, but some will," the two worlds being two lives, the family wanting to send him away to straighten him out, etc etc etc. It's all there and it hits so close to home
Agreed, but it's disappointing to see disney use our stories without giving us credit for them. Also, the train scene is the gayest scene ever (and they are 13 and 14, old enough to be considered a cute couple if they were a boy and a girl)
Also the two closeted ladies coming out [as sea monsters] at the end are obviously a couple
And the way they made Luca and Alberto from outfits to aesthetic realy similar to call me by your name, even the train scene have been always a romantic goodbye in every movie ever. xd
you did not have to call my clumsy ass out like that, i know how to walk i promise. my feet just don’t cooperate with my brain.
Luca perfectly captures a child’s blissful, bright view of the world 🥺🥺 it makes me so happy
This was definitely a movie I didn’t expect to love as much as I actually did. By that thumbnail, I’m gonna guess Billy loved it too
Someone figured out that Gulias school is only about an hours train ride away. So if you're sad about the ending, you now have proof that they'll visit every chance they get.
Naysayers, shut up. Let us have this.
Billy saying the cat was named after Tupac 🤣🤣. Close Billy, but he's actually probably named after Machiavelli which brought about Machiavellianism.
BTW the editing for this one is on point, Sir!
Thank I appreciate that! I tried 😂
I know about Machiavelli and his "the ends justify the means" ideology, but I don't know the tupac connection, could you explain? XD
@@HyperfixationStation The album released after Tupac's death credited him Makaveli the Don. The album was The Don Kulluminati: the Seven Day Theory which was obviously doing a play on Machiavelli and the Illuminati.
@@nikwalters1029 ohh gotcha, thanks for teaching me something new!
This movie made me really nostalgic about my childhood 😭 All those friends I had growing up and then growing up apart... so bittersweet
If this ain’t the cutest and most wholesome animated film I’ve ever watched, then I don’t even know what is…
#Bingers
Holloweens coming up soon!!! Surely some animated spooky classics!!! 🖤🍂
-Coraline
-Corpse Bride
-Frankenweenie
-Paranorman
-Monster house
yes to everyone single one of these especially considering they are all on my *halloween movie marathon*
Don’t forget The Nightmare Before Christmas!!
YEEEES OMG PLEASE
Halloweentown!!!
*YES TO ALL* #bingers
Hey Billy! Idk if you watched through the credits, but if you did, it's a really nice continuation of their lives if you look at the drawings. It shows you more about Luca's time with Julia and her mom, him at school, and how life's been for Alberto and the dad. I really enjoyed watching the credits because these characters are just so precious.
If you loved the credits you should see Ciao Alberto. It’s an 8 min short movie, that shows how Alberto and Julia’s dad are working and living together. It’s so precious and managed to get a little extra tear out of me.
@@moptop4355 I did! It's such a good short!! 🥺 I'm so glad they made it
@@shayjustice3654 lol right! It’s so fulfilling!
But the visuals, though? They’re top notch, I tell you. Like everything is so immersive. And I like that.
Definitely. Somehow the visuals are both incredibly realistic, but also incredibly cartoony at the same time. I love the style of it.
#bingers you HAVE to watch “The Croods new age” if you have watched the first one “the croods” if not watch the first one and then the second one it’s SO GOOD and you’ll live the animation and soundtrack.
YES
I didn't care for that one :/ the first one is amazing though.
I liked more the first:(
wow I loved the second waaaaaaaaaaaay more. I didn't enjoy the first one 😂😂
@@agot7fan855 I liked them both but the second one I feel was so much better
Awww. I haven't gotten a chance to watch Luca yet. I'll have to miss the live tonight, Billy. 😭 I still adore you though! ❤️ Catch you on the next one!
Definitely watch it’s easily in my top 3 Pixar movies
My sister sleeps with her eyes partially open. She would fall asleep in the middle of a conversation and I would keep on talking. Not realizing that she had fallen asleep. Machiavelli was an Italian author. He wrote "The Little Prince".
“Baby Wendys” had me crying🤣🤣 also when Ercole said “you smell like behind the pescaría” he was saying the smelled like fish
How have you not watched Pixar's peak that is RATATOUILLE?? Add that to your list and make sure you have food to get you through it!
Always love Billy’s videos! An October recommendation is “Coraline”! #bingers
Absolutely!! That and Paranorman #bingers
#bingers and Monster House!
Why does "they're here to do murder" sound like the punchline to a John Mulaney joke?
I love me some pixar with queer subcontext that’s almost obvious at times❤️❤️❤️ genuinely made me cry many times thinking of mine and others’ coming out journey ❤️❤️❤️
Same
same here. as a queer girl this movie made me cry so much
The director said they weren't
@@shaycormac1745 he said that it was written as just friendship (pretty sure he also said pre-romance) but legit has no problem with people seeing it as a queer movies or the characters as queer. if you go on his twitter and under his likes he has liked many fanarts of luca and alberto together romantically. i feel like he can't just come out and say it's romantic because it's disney but did the most that he could without saying the movie is explicitly queer or romantic. the guy who played alberto said in an interview a while back that he could totally see a sequel where the two actually got together and i don't think the director was against that idea at all
@@shaycormac1745 like eleven said, the actor who plays Alberto (a bi dude) also says he views them as queer and does want to see a sequel with it as queer.
Could you please do The Sound of Music, Megamind and Alice in Wonderland (animated) and WALL-E? They are some of my favorite movies of all time! #Bingers
I loved this movie! It made me cry and cry. I'm glad to see it's still possible to create great movies. Not everything has to repeat itself.
Love your content, btw!
I was so hoping it wouldn't make me cry!! 😭 I've never seen it
Please do megamind #bingers
Yes, yes!! Megamind!!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who cried.. my nephew made fun of me lmao. But I'm a huge baby when it comes to any Pixar movie. Most of them make me cry. Especially Coco, Inside Out, and Soul. So good ❤
Woooo Sound of Music! One of my favorite musicals.
Love watching you and your reactions!
Just a few comments
1. It’s Italian not Spanish/Hispanic
2. Giulia’s dad probably didn’t question Alberto’s parents because as you can tell this is based off of older Italian times where orphan numbers were high because of how the government was and a lot of parents died/were killed
3. Aglio e Olio is a very common Italian pasta that is an oil/butter sauce added with spices and sometimes other herbs and stuff. So I don’t necessarily think the pasta was dry (I’ve never seen an Italian eat dry pasta. At least In My family it’s all about the flavour lol dry anything is impossible)
Alright that’s enough of my opinion lol. Can’t wait for the next vid!
You've never seen ratatouille? Its a masterpiece and my faborite pixar movie, you have to
#bingers
It's my favorite, too, tied with A Bug's Life! 😍😍😍
me: aw cute baby gays
billy: truck drivers going from place to place
😂😂
ikr my thoughts exactly
Great movie choice. Please do a zootopia reaction it’s one of my favorite 2010s movies
Not sure if you did this one yet, but you should watch Soul.😭 such a beautiful movie. I cried all day after I watched it lol #bingers
Thanks for watching this movie, i'm italian and Disney finally made a movie set in Italy after Pinocchio (it was like 70 years ago lol). I'm proud and happy that everyone loves it, i feel like I made it myself 😂. Amazing reaction and commentary as always ❤️
#bingers you have to watch the rise of guardians. 100% that you gonna love it
Yo cool movie
extremely underrated movie, i second this
OH MY GOD YES
this movie is so underrated.
Luca is one of the best animated films I’ve seen in a while. The fam and I cried!
19:33 Whew, Billy spitting facts here! that fear + jealousy never lead to anything good.
I also want to add, I think jealousy often has its roots in fear; be it fear of losing the person you care about when they make a new friend/relationship,
or fear of losing likeability and your credibility when someone is naturally more talented at something than you, even if you have areas of skill that they don't.
If you have trauma or triggers linked to these fears, they automatically feel MUCH, much worse.
Whatever fear it is, it doesn't get addressed and just molders, then it grows into anger and manifests as jealous behaviors and lashing out at the people you care about.
Jealousy and bitterness are like drinking poison and hoping the other person dies. It slowly kills from the inside instead of them; they don't know what you're going through unless you tell them. Communicating how you feel and what you want from the other person often resolves insecurities they become jealousy, which takes a lot longer to recover from.
Love the reaction. Don't know if you noticed, but the first credits have amazing illustrations telling the story of what happens when Luca goes to school, and it's the cutest thing ever. So worth it to check it out!
Luca is SO good. I feel like it got a little flack because of the CalArts-influenced art style. But I also feel like people sometimes expect these enormous, philosophical stories from Pixar but Luca was refreshingly simple. I loved it.
Also the score is great.
#bingers Curella, Hamilton, Jumanji:WelcomeToThe Jungle, and Pirates of the Caribbean series
I swear I be singing along with billy every time he sings “Disney stop playing with my heart” it be so fun
_Luca_ is my 2nd favorite Pixar movie... I've seen it over half a dozen times. But "Splash" still gets me every. single. dang. time.😭
("Splash" is the name of the chapter where Alberto reveals to Giulia that's he's a sea monster.)
Billy you have to watch Ratatouille🥰it's one of Pixar's best movies #bingers
Just got back home from doing a Chemistry exam today at college. Then I see this. Looks like I know what I'm watching while eating dinner. 😆
Billy, I wanna say, I recently found your channel some days ago and already I love it. I have been struggling with depression, and it's been getting a bit tough due to season changes and exam season, and your videos have had me laughing and smiling and even dancing right along with you! So thank you so so much for the content you put out! 💕
This was a great primer billy love your laughter and smile, miracles and blessings to you and yours.
That pasta is pretty awesome. Pixar has the recipe. Its noodles, potatos and green beans in a pesto sauce. My son and I did movie night where we watched this movie and made the pasta. Yum
If only Ariel could have been able to shapeshift, her life would have been a lot easier lol
YAY! i remember requesting this. I’m so glad you did it ☺️
Since you were curious, in the movie Luca and Giulia are 14 years old, while Alberto is 16 💕 (and sad fact, someone took the time to count the marks on the wall and found out that Alberto had been alone for a year and a couple months before he stopped counting 😭)
Hope you make 100k tonight you deserve it 💕 Never seen Luca before so thanks 😊
Amazing review as always. I would love to see you do the Maze Runner Trilogy would be the best movie review.
I am so happy you watched this! I'm American but i've been living in Genoa for 7 years. It's my home now (I'm raising my children here) so I feel so attached. I felt so proud that there is a major Disney movie that features my (new) home!
I love the lgbtq undertones for this movie as well. This movie makes me so happy, It’s amazing.
Same!!!
He was right the word silence serculated in my head
Billy, the blue shirt looks good on you. That color is definitely your color!

Great reaction, Billy! I hadn’t seen this movie before but it was really good with a wonderful message. 👏👏👏👏👏
10:44
Low-Key just did that and I told myself to only think about the video.
Then my mind played the meme when multiple voices are taking at once but their all in-sync when saying 'It's entirely possible'
giulia and alberto being siblings at the end (technically) makes me so happy. also the way they winked at each other when they’re were saying goodbye😭🫶🏻
it's almost like he lives in rupunzels old castle and hordes items like ariel lol
Heyyy we’re early
This movie is so amazing and I can’t wait to see ur reaction!!
Waiting for Hamilton… #bingers
This….This is the moment I’ve been waiting for.I have always wanted to see your reaction to Luca. The story is beautiful and seeing you react to it makes my day.Like some say, “Ask and you shall receive”
Congratulations on 100k, you are my favorite RUclipsr🤗💕
Has anyone recommended the how to train your dragon trilogy to him yet? I think he’d really like it #bingers
You make me laugh so much!!! You NEED to watch Harry Potter and ratatouille like they are so good and the soundtracks …. UNREALLLLL❤️
CONGRTAS ON 100k U DESERVE IT
Your videos bring so much joy. Thank you!
The animation was so clean
Fun fact there is a theory Bruno is Alberto’s dad’s name #bingers
Luca's parents are voiced by Maya Rudolph and Jim Gaffigan
I am so happy you picked up on what was happening with Alberto! There were quite a few red flags throughout the movie and I think you got all of them (even the less obvious ones).
shout out to the vacuum marks in the carpet. they're the most consistent thing in my life.
#bingers A Little Princess. It’s an underrated classic. I loved it growing up but forgot all about it until I just saw another reaction channel react to it.
Awwww, that soft post-Luca voice Billy got was from pure, overwhelming emotion!
11:43 Erocle said Luca smells like the space behind the pesceria, which is the fish shop. Usually, in the back of fishmongers' shops, is where they clean, gut, debone, and/or section fish fillets for sale, and gather bad fish that aren't good to eat for throwing away. It REEKS back there!
Billy you did not 😂 just call her baby Wendy’s
This movie is so sweet.
#bingers It's time to watch Emperor's New Groove, the best comedy Disney ever made, past, present, and future.
This movie is so sweet ❤️ I love how they show Albertos abandonment issue through jealousy
And when Alberto tell Luca about his dad leaving him I was so sad for him, like somebody give that boy a hug and a home! 😭❤️
I love your commentary of this movie Billy! I'm trying to get my dad to watch it because our family is half Italian(on his side) and over a year ago we started learning the language-- I was so surprised to hear(AND UNDERSTAND) all the Italian words in this movie! I felt so proud of my heritage! Oh and fun fact: vespa means wasp or hornet and freedom is liberta, like liberty.
I've never watched Luca so I guess I'm watching it to 😂😂 Billy love ur videos your so FUNNY and please do Disney zombies and Henry danger the series I'm begging lol hope u safe 💛🙏
#bingers Billy! You have to watch Onward! If you liked Luca you would love Onward. I was so emotional 😭
I love Onward!
Love the reactions billy bro
yesssss more billy content !!!
What a charming movie!
I'm still waiting for a reaction to The Help! It is an emotional ride but fantastic! #bingers
The help is white savior as hell
@@kimilynP To a certain point, but it was a film make 10 years ago and does bring up some good points including comedy, romance, and drama. You don’t have to love the whole film to get some sort of perspective out of it.
The Italian phrase Alberto kept saying ("Piaccere, Girolamo Trombetta!") means "Nice to meet you, my name is Twisty Trombone!"
And as you say it, there's hand motions that go with it: shaking the person's hand, then twisting it like you're assembling the parts of a trombone, and lastly pumping it back and forth like you're playing the trombone.
One of the guys behind the movie grew up in a small Italian town and used to do this as a joke with the neighborhood kids.
Thanks Billy, Antonio, and everyone that requested this movie. I loved it and hadn't really heard much about this movie previously. Great reaction and movie choice!
You're so close to 100k, it's inevitable! We got this.
Obligatory #bingers Heartbreakers plug lol
