There is no doubt that Sir Andrew was referring to Jessie Buckey when he mentioned "world class performer". You just have to see their faces when she is singing. You can feel the intensity leap out from the screen. Her career since shows how much of a world class performer she is. The accolades just keep coming. Being runner up in this show was a blessing in disguise, she might have stayed solely in musical theatre had she won. She has proven herself to be extremely versatile moving seamlessly from TV. film, musical theatre, indie/folk/country music, audiobooks and now video games. It will be interesting to see what she does next. ....I wonder will she ever do a show with Sir Andrew or Cameron in the future. I'm sure they would love to work with her again. She has said in interviews in the past that Cameron paid for her to do a month long Shakespeare training course which sparked her interest in the bard. She ended up doing Romeo and Juliet on film during the pandemic.
I loved this show at the time & Samantha & Jess were my favourites once the live shows started. I didn’t realise how little air time Samantha had in this episode! Thanks for uploading & I’m going to enjoy watching it a second time 😍
A star is born: 47:55 and after. "I'm blown away." "I have to say I think there's one world class performer there...I mean absolutely world class." yes, but more than one!!
I really enjoyed watching I'd Do Anything on BBC One from March to May 2008 on Saturdays and Sundays and it was brilliant and amazing and it's my 2nd favourite Andrew Lloyd Webber TV talent show series
Just realised that "Nancy" is Nancy Sullivan who is a brilliant actor and now director and is married to the equally brilliant David Thaxton who I saw as Pilate in JCS in Regent's Park!!! Amazing how you only discover these things later in life!! She also directed Declan Bennett his on man show Boy out the city!
@@colonyofrats4193 Rachel Tucker went on to be Elphaba in Wicked while Samantha Barks and Katie Hall both were later in Les Misérables (Eponine and Cosette/Fantine respectively), so it's just kind of funny that they were singing these songs here when they later went on to perform in those musicals
Katie should've never gotten through to the first round, she was only put through for entertainment purposes. Also why was Nancy not given the role, she would've been perfect. Does anyone know what became of her. They dont give surnames, so I'm not sure how to find info on her. Also Jessie was a year older than katie, so the whole you're not old enough thing was just stupid. Edit: found out Nancy is actually an actress.

Andrew is such a sweetheart letting the girls down so kindly
I don't know why they eliminated Nancy!? She seemed perfect for the role IMO.

I'm curious who he was singling out! Had to be Samantha, right?

Jessie Buckley 54:53 was just in the Netflix movie "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" - she's a fantastic actor!
Kwayedza was amazing for Oliver! I’ve never forgotten him! I hope he made it to a career in theatre
Late reply but he's a great singer songwriter now. He goes by the name Kwaye. I recommend songs like Lost on My Boots and Paralysed by him 😊
Oh my god he’s kwaye!?
I love him
2 les miserables stars Katie Hall and Samantha Barks in this episode.
3 Nancy Sullivan is here too.

It’s Rachel Tucker whippin’ out the turquoise jeans. Give the casting directors something to remember
That tiny boy singing phantom of the opera stole my heart
Samantha is so pretty even without makeup 🥰

Samantha Barks and she played Nancy in the 2011 to 2012 UK Tour of Oliver
Standing in that grid with John Borrowman peering over your shoulder would be equally terrifying and perhaps a bit hot?
Sammy banks and Jessie!!! Amazing
Damn, I didn’t know Katie Hall was here. She’s amazing but I can’t imagine her as Nancy
Exactly this. I love her but it wasn't the right role for her.

Samantha is so cute hahah 4:04
13:02, 41:46, 48:54 finally a glimpse of Samantha singingggg
it lowkey annoyed me that we barely saw her sing in the first two episodes
Anyone know what Jennifer from Liverpool went on to do? I was so rooting for her, hope she got to perform.
How ironic that they were singing Les Miserables and Wicked songs?

14:21 I can't believe they're being so rude to her. I think Alesha knew that it was fixed.
I would love to know what some of the other Nancy’s are doing now
Yeah, like Helen, Lucie, Minhal, Jamie, or some of the other girls that didn't make it to the final 12.
I agree with your comment

who do we think he was talking about when he said there was one world class performer in the room?
I have no idea. Who would you say
My money's on Jessie. She was the best actress by far.
Looking back on this, I think Lucy was very hard done by. She was in there with a future West End star, a future Broadway star and a future film star.
Based on continued comments in the live shows it was 100% Jessie.

They gave the Joseph’s so many more chances, than the Nancy’s.
