Auditioning for this changed my life, I was studying for musical theatre and the casting director told me to go for opera instead....well I had work!! To do, he changed my whole life and he most probably doesn’t even remember me!
This is my favorite competition show ever, none of the others have measured up. All the girls are so incredibly talented, and they've only become more talented since.
Only after finding and rewatching this at 20 years old did I grow to love the show and its concept. It never occurred to 7 year old me that they had to act while they sang, and you gotta admit how good they are at it.
Friday 26th March 2010 9PM, exactly 10 years ago, Over the Rainbow aired on BBC1! ~ i'm glad to have finally found the episodes, and i'm trying publish them all asap, some still have strong copyright claims on them, and i've been trying to resolve them for a few months. thankfully, i managed to sort ep 1 in time for its anniversary!! XD
Can not believe it was 10 years ago!! Been waiting to re see the full episodes for SO long. My favourite TV show ever! Thank you so much for these!! 😍😍 Perfect quarantine binge
It’s amazing to see how Danielle’s journey started off knowing that she is Dorothea! When I saw her play Dorothea in the theatre she looked so natural she was amazing!
OMG. His lordship held the last London auditions at the Kingsway Hall Hotel in Holbern. My FAVOURITE hotel!!! Been staying there for many years when we visit London. LOL
I'm curious why did they send them to do dance and acting training when they ended up just judging them from their singing again? Kinda felt frustrating 😕
The show is set in the 1800's and the film is ion the 1930's she doesn't need to be up dated or turned into a 18 ear old going into her rebellious sexual awakening as Webber told one reporter, she's either a 10 year old farm girl or a 12 year old farm girl she is not or ever reaches the age of 18 ever in the books, and whats in the books and what Baum wrote, not the MGM Film is the bible of the story.
@@ShadowsofthePastTheater when he got rid of the girl called nancy in bootcamp I knew he didnt have a clue. They're only saying it's about sex, because sex sells and at the end of the day it's a reality tv show.
@@ShadowsofthePastTheater Yes, and the end product the show flopped, and was even considered to be transfers to Broadway, and the reviews were why didn't he use the book and do another phantom of the opera instead of trying to put his stamp on a classic that didn't need any fixing.
I’m so glad you posted this, I honestly thought it was a fever dream I had at age 8 😂
I was 11 when this was on! Great memories 🙌♥️

I came here because of a tiktok I saw about this and it unlocked a memory from watching first time round haha. Love it.
Ok, the Eastenders star just made me cry now, for the mere fact that he's so sweet and encouraging to the contestants and helping them so much

This was 10x better than the Nancy auditions and school imo. Loved the final part when the final 20 celebrate going through.
I love this documentary style over the live show competition.
