    As a follower student of Lee Morrison, I liked this video a lot and its combative sense.

    I do a drill where I sit in a chair in front of a dummy or heavy bag. And I try to get as calm as possible as I sit - like I am reading a good book. Then I get up with explosive energy and just go to town on the dummy/bag for about 30 seconds. Punches, palm strikes, elbows, head butts, hooks, eye gouges.... etc. Then I sit down again and go back to being calm. Repeat. Repeat. I like to think that I am training myself to go from calm and feral without any transition - or any clues to my opponent that he is about to rained upon with punches and head butts... at my age, I have no time for foreplay or shoving or circling; and at my size (small/medium) I cannot afford to trade punches or risk a take down. So I lean hard into the element of surprise and hope I can destroy my opponent before he knows what is going on and decides to destroy me back!

      I live ambush training. I fully agree, if you can strike first and overwhelm them it’s always the best option tactically.

    This is interesting information. But, for me, my main focus in an encounter is hitting the solar plexus. Setup a high left fake jab to the head and then slam your right fist into the solar plexus. I don’t want to stand there and slug it out with someone. Nor, do I want to have to do fancy Mohammed Ali footwork dancing around the aggressor. The least amount of time I have to deal with the aggressor, the better off I am. If, the solar plexus hit does not work, then do a fake punch to the abdomen and follow up with a brachial stun to the neck. If that doesn’t work RUN. on a side note, practicing running should be a part of all martial arts training. It builds up stamina. But, if you can outrun your aggressor, then you won the fight. How fast you can run might determine if you live or die.

    My next download to buy, Sir. I don't know how much you can share, but how do you train your mind to trespass your inhibitions, how do you do the math from the legal to the feral? I've experienced great anxiety for just doing bridge arm on a partner, but I fucking love 'em. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in these harsh times, Sir, and, as always, wish you all the best. Thank you.

      I think the predator prey switch level 6 combat psych download is the best one for you on that topic. The key is to have a near value inventory of when you would fight and to practice the switch from passive to aggressive n your training to hone that sensitivity

    How important r leg sweeps and calf kicks?

      I don’t think they’re a must but I have used them with great success and continue to do so into the slow unnerving decline past my prime.

    Brilliant content Kevin, I have a dumb question that's unrelated: how do you avoid getting body slammed by a larger opponent? Go feral? lol

    • @systemacanada
      @systemacanada  3 года назад +2

      Not at all a dumb question. So I’m order of sequence : 1 -train and invest in footwork to keep distance-hit and move. 2- if the clinch occurs use the bridge arm brachial stun in the video above to create distance. Drive your hips back to make and keep as much distance as you an steer your hips and theirs. Then go feral on their face with your free hand, gouging and hammering. 3- if you are tightly clinched and getting lifted, hook one of your legs around theirs to minimize the lift keeping your second leg free and ready to hop and keep balance in between surges and lifts. A single leg hook will limit the height they can lift you . If they are simply throwing you laterally like a rag doll, the second leg may counter or lessen the fall but there is always a chance you e d yo being thrown into a table or turtle position at which point you begin escaping from there. The key is the leg hook to avoid being throw over the top of their head . Does this make sense?

    • @crashbashify
      @crashbashify 3 года назад +1

      @@systemacanada Makes sense, you want to really anchor yourself to their legs with your legs.

    You mentioned several times how devastating these techniques are. Why then are you posting them on RUclips? What is the purpose of these techniques? Looks like attacks on an uprepared opponent

    • @systemacanada
      @systemacanada  3 года назад +13

      These are taken from our download on solo training for multiple attackers. If you are required to engage with two or more individuals, your response must be absolute. Naturally mannequins always look like unsuspecting attackers . These are foundational drills to rehearse options from different flanks. In application it will be much more dynamic and I have a host of material demonstrating that as well. This is very far from any secret or hidden knowledge and I post on RUclips because the majority of people are honest seekers looking to improve their ability to protect themselves and their loved ones. It’s the training methodology that makes the greatest difference in the ability to apply anything, not some hidden technique. We can never fully vet any audience, even in person. Some might limit their instruction to only military or professionals but even then there is no guarantee it will be used responsibly traditionally it would be limited to family lineage. While I do vet my personal student body and limit some knowledge until I deeply know a student, this is no where near those levels of control. For us, these are our very basics for cqb. What in martial arts is preferable? If you are approaching violence in a way that it’s sensational , attractive or appealing, I think it is far more dangerous than it is to present violence as it is-brutal. Honest training should reinforce the desire to avoid engagement not create the enthusiasm to try something out.
