I spent time and energy trying to pursue some of them after subscribers informed me about their ads on Instagram that use my videos in them. But after a while, I realized many of them would go out of business in weeks or months. So I just let it slide. However, to have your personal brand used by a Beking Hair like this - name and all- as a false endorsement, well that's flatly wrong, and I fully support you pursuing legal recourse. I'll make a video to spread the word about this on my channel in a few days.
There is a hidden gem in all this mess. This means that you now actually have a platform to reach other people with hair loss on a global platform. Imagine, 400k views... If you can reach people on a global scale, the message of destigmatizing hair loss will be amplified. I wonder how you can harness this. I'm pretty sure there is a way. Stay strong, Jake. I've seen these Chinese companies do this for all kinds of products. They steal content then send an inferior product. Please sue them. Force them to admit what they did on every social media account they used your content. Take them for all their worth. Remember though, and as I previously mentioned in sure you thought about it but, if they responded as you quoted them in so doing...anywhere near verbatim, that email transmission is proof that they also outright admitted guilt, theft. Find you a good attorney and get your money bro. Don't give up man. They're stealing your dream if you do. Robbing you of much of your joy already and I can see that and hear it in your voice. Hit em where it hurts. They don't have the talent to do what you've done in such little time. That's why they resorted to stealing your videos. Burn em man.

You are the face and driving force of your brand. Now you can make a tik tok and bring people to your Landing page/videos. Think the bigger picture. Think where you can take your face and your brand. You’ve seen what the potential has now get back to grinding and be the biggest face in this industry. You got this and your community has your back. As soon as you showed those first 2 messages it came across as scam verbage. I checked their website and the hairpieces they show look really cheap. I would never buy such garbage. Keep doing what your doing. Alot of your followers enjoy and trust you so don't let these scammers defeat you.
i’ve been looking into this again. Got a system for $600 including install a few years ago and ripped it off within a day. Color & density was clearly fake/ridiculous. I mean, if it isn’t impeccable and completely undetectable then what is the point? In any case, all of these companies claim the same exact things. All of the brochures have a great looking before and after shots. Hair club wants 4000 a year with no promises that all it will be any good/stay attached. So with the giant swing in price and no way of trusting anyone, how on EARTH do you find some thing, let alone affordable?

Use other popular hair system peeps like Curtis and others and make a group video chat where you’re exposing companies that use videos and pictures to sell their products. Have each of you post it to your own pages with the title “Hair System Companies That Steal”. Something like that. I’m sure they’ll all be on board to collaborate to make a multi video chat. Who wouldn’t want to see all the guys chatting about shitty things companies have put them through.

As a retail customer they have been as good as any as a buyer I have found, and have had bad customer service from a competitor. I don't have much trust in companies abroad- you know where. A pity you didn't get rewarded by them for distribution of you videos, how much more unscrupulous goings on are there in this industry? Back in 2009 I was quote $4.5K for one hair system!

You need to mark your content 'copyright' and have a ribbon that displays that message periodically as the video plays. Otherwise anyone can grab it and us it. I have a channel under a different username here where I do that. My channel has mixed content, mostly DIY stuff. I have nearly 5k followers.
Did you actually contact an attorney? It sounds like you got so frustrated and angry that you reacted without consulting an attorney first. You could actually make a difference if you do. You could receive financial damages and more importantly, stop this kind of flagrant theft and illegal use of your image and anybody else’s for the sake of profit.
Can't you do something like a copy write strike on tick tock? I thought generally that would be the first step. I'm not sure you are actually entitled to money for all the views unless you bring a lawsuit against them, but that sort of thing happens a lot on youtube and generally the videos are just flagged and removed. I think the problem here is, since BeKing is from China and TikTok is from China, they don't really have to face the jurisdictions from here in the U..S. though I may be completely wrong, since there could be exceptions. Use other popular hair system peeps like Curtis and others and make a group video chat where you’re exposing companies that use videos and pictures to sell their products. Have each of you post it to your own pages with the title “Hair System Companies That Steal”. Something like that. I’m sure they’ll all be on board to collaborate to make a multi video chat. Who wouldn’t want to see all the guys chatting about shitty things companies have put them through.

You shouldn't have texted them. Instead, you should have gone to a lawyer, collected all the evidence and then did what the lawyer told you to do.

As a retail customer they have been as good as any as a buyer I have found, and have had bad customer service from a competitor. I don't have much trust in companies abroad- you know where. A pity you didn't get rewarded by them for distribution of you videos, how much more unscrupulous goings on are there in this industry? Back in 2009 I was quote $4.5K for one hair system!
This seems to be happening to some of you guys. It also happened to Curtis at Hair by MHE, his face is all over the place selling $40 hair systems that he's not involved with, he reached out to social media but they told him to suck it up. Good luck trying to resolve it.

You need to mark your content 'copyright' and have a ribbon that displays that message periodically as the video plays. Otherwise anyone can grab it and us it. I have a channel under a different username here where I do that. My channel has mixed content, mostly DIY stuff. I have nearly 5k followers.
Did you actually contact an attorney? It sounds like you got so frustrated and angry that you reacted without consulting an attorney first. You could actually make a difference if you do. You could receive financial damages and more importantly, stop this kind of flagrant theft and illegal use of your image and anybody else’s for the sake of profit.

I thought generally that would be the first step. I'm not sure you are actually entitled to money for all the views unless you bring a lawsuit against them, but that sort of thing happens a lot on youtube and generally the videos are just flagged and removed. I suppose company knows it'll be very difficult for you to bring a lawsuit against them since they are based in China. Anyways good luck and I'll look forward to hearing an update on this situation.
I don't think there is anything you can legally do. Add a watermark to all your videos and post videos on Tiktok to try and prevent it in the future.

I think the problem here is, since BeKing is from China and TikTok is from China, they don't really have to face the jurisdictions from here in the U..S. though I may be completely wrong, since there could be exceptions. So it's tough for Jake and anyone else to do something pertaining to legal matters.
