Junto a.mi familia
Lindo!!! Congratulations! I think I'm going to try mosaic. I love arts and have made other kinds of handicrafts, but not mosaic yet. I'd like to ask you something. To make one like this, I use the picture under the pieces and then? Do I have to take the picture from there when I finish it up? For exemplo, if I wnat to do this covering a wooden plate... Thanks in advance and also, thanks for sharing your talent!!!
@youutubestinks I know that in the video´s comment says "...Direct technique with enamels and marbles...". But in close look 1:53 and 2:40, seeing texture, colors, and brightness (glassy, pearly) of the stones, it seems quartz to me. Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate (50% carbonate minerals: mainly calcite and dolomite). Near where I live, there´re marble quarries (very pure and high quality marble, indeed), and I ´ve visited them frequently. And flint is basically quartz (SiO2), and it´s much harder than marble (also, its fracture is conchoidal) and more difficult to work with, so that´s why I´ve my doubts: for the images, still I´m not sure if Lucio is using marble or flint in this portrait. It would be great if @luciobertoia clear my doubt.
Beautiful artwork. Thank you for sharing

By the way, one question: the stones are flint (quartz), aren´t they?
