This video is so relaxing and perfectly made, it helps me sleep at night haha! Thank you for making this, this is one of my life dreams to make this trek in my Tacoma. God Bless!
Just a word of advice... You should have a dedicated hose for filling your tanks on the camper, preferably one that is made for drinking water if using your tanks for drinking, cooking and cleaning. Not sure of the hose you used, but it looks like that could be an RV dump station, in which case people use the hose often to clean their waste tanks and sewage pipes. You can always disinfect your tanks with chlorine if needed. Hate to see you get sick on your adventures!
I discovered your video and found it very enjoyable to watch at, and thanks for not playing any background music like everybody else does. Really great to see how well such car can drive thru rocky roads in the mountains. Keep going the good work. And beautiful sceneries aswell.
Really appreciate the effort of setting of the camera for those drive by shots then having to go back and get it...looks super crisp and clear...I've seen 4k videos that don't look that good.
Brother, great video. I grew up in Lake City and went to school for one year in the small school house in the middle of town. For High School we took the bus to Gunnison Colorado. Planning to visit the area this September on our way back from Alaska. As a kid, I hiked many of those trails you drove. Great memories.
Great video 👌 I really like the simple, chilled, understated style how you edit and film, really makes you feel like you're there and gives you time to absorb it without distracting music or overdoses of narration. Kinda gives that feel like in the movie Cast Away👌 Nicely done
What would be relaxing is if you guys would stop tearing up the landscape, wasting fuel, destroying the natural habitat. Maybe do us all a favor and get a prius and do the world some good!
@Chris Mak. Agree100% Watch venture4WD, Chris' channel. Weekly posts of his travels around USA/Canada. He's a great guy and each episode has his dry sense of humor, awesome photography skills, and if you're lucky, you'll spy "Chris on a rock"!
I have watched this series a few times now. I now live in Durango, and pass through Ouray frequently. I have yet to explore the National Forest roads in this area…getting settled and building a shop on my property this summer. I have a khaya mounted on my F350 Tremor….and I love it! I had a canopy camper on my Tacoma which I also really liked…just didn’t like the lack of power and transmission hunting that it did. No such problem with my 6.7 Tremor. My question if I may…given I have a full size truck…very capable with lockers, etc…would you expect me to have any issues going up Engineer pass? I was really surprised at how few people you came across…or you just didn’t film it? Thank you again for taking the time to do this. I wish you the best at whatever you are doing these days.
Hey! You won’t have any problems on Engineer Pass. Depending on the day, traffic can be pretty thin. Avoid holidays and weekends and you should have a good experience.
Liked for some nice footage along the Alpine Loop, my old stomping grounds. Although in those days I was mostly traveling on Honda XRs 👍👍. You captured some nice drive by shots. Must have taken forever!
We visited Ouray before it became commercialized. Love Lake City. Hope it stays as we remembered it back in the early 90's. We all most bought some property in Ouray. Should have when it was cheaper.
Great video....thank you! Could you please share your experience on any noticeable wind noise from the camper? I think you are running KO2’s, which have some road noise. As for driving performance....I’m sure you could tell it was back there...but was it much different than a regular top with a normal load? Thanks again....
Hi Steve - Wind noise isn't bad, especially given its size. The V6, while reliable, is a bit gutless to begin with so with the weight, you can definitely feel it.
I didn't see anywhere where you explain why you are delivering this truck back to Lancaster, Pa. So wanted to know. Also wondered if you would prefer this setup to your jeep?
Sick rig, i just wish it wasnt so damned expensive!!! Also seems pretty heavy to actually go offroad without issue:/ jeep and a tent all the way for this guy!!!
You don't need to spend a lot of money to enjoy the outdoors! I have friends in stock Subaru's with all-terrains who go camping regularly. On some harder trailers they just have to take it a little slower and work harder. Thanks for watching! - James @ OK4WD.
Videos that end abruptly like this really freak me out!! Like did something happen? ;-) Pretty awesome places. I've been to them and it's cool to see it again to bring back those memories.
Beautiful places... You are really lucky to watch such places with your eyes. No cameras can ever be better than our eyes. Just to improve your videos, kindly give some body languages to your hands instead of just keeping them in your pockets and try to make the narrations a little more exciting and lively based on new places you explored... Cheers.
Really enjoyed watching your video with no music. Great listening to the birds chirping, wind, and river.

I am actually glad that you spelt the name correctly. It means home in Zulu. Loved it.
I like that you chose no mood music. Btw I think I filmed that rig ar overland expo 2018.
mixflip I agree, really lets you absorb the place without distraction
mixflip i watch ur videos too!
You should sub Chris (Venture4WD). His style of filming is amazing. Never any music which I really appreciate.

I would have tried the spigot it was attached to.
Great video. We always love seeing how other people set up their gear. Thanks.
This is the best truck camper set up on the market. Both excellent

I appreciate all the effort you took in the different camera angles
Outstanding! Scenic. Inviting. Beautiful. All of which are understatements. Fantastic work my friend.
Really enjoyed those mountain views. Great thing going on, keep it up

I thought that was space ship when the rear door lifted up...LOL-Got my attention:) Nice camper!
Lovely clip, easy going, the great arranged Tacoma and your presentation
Great filming! I looked up prices for the alu cab ....and god dam! They cost 14 times more than I paid for my Toyota fj60!!!
Wish we could find an FJ60 in that price range! Yours looks absolutely beautiful 😍
I keep going back and watching this, so freakin relaxing!!!

I love how calm the video is.
I spent a couple summers out in Buena Vista... that was 14 years ago. It's as beautiful as ever. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful video man. I like the video without any music or heavy editing. Leave nature determine the mood. You just earned a subscriber.

Not too yappy, making the vid and relaxed editing speak for itself. Subbed!

Appreciate the lack of music too. Nice rig! Love that style of camping.
Thank you!
You got yourself a sub all the way from down under, Australia :) keep em coming!
ps. that small town looks like a postcard

Ouray is special place with all its trails for off reading and camping . I found Colorado my favorite state to visit .
Liked for some nice footage along the Alpine Loop, my old stomping grounds. Although in those days I was mostly traveling on Honda XRs 👍👍. You captured some nice drive by shots. Must have taken forever!
This may be a stupid ? But I'm from the east coast but are these places free of charge to drive and camp on ?
TIA
Absolutely in love with the camper. Hope I can afford it some day. Love the video as well ... Nice not to have music ruin everything.
such a relaxing video to watch ....
We agree!
Gorgeous story-telling and wonderful camera work. I love Ouray, but the whole experience of your travel has e on the edge of my seat! Love it!
Another awesome video. I have my x wife and many friends watching you.

Great video, pick up (camioneta) and spectacular views, congratulations!, greetings from Chile
When I lived in nj i always wanted to come to your shop

Hi Pedro! I believe Chris uploads the routes to his Patreon! You can find him on RUclips at Venture4WD! Thanks for watching!
@@ok4wd thanks
Was the suspension of the Tacoma raised apart from the factory lift
One of your best videos.
when you said "breath taking" @16:50, you were talking about cheeze it or the view?

Awesome, a camper for people who can afford to (and probably will) stay in all of the five star hotels along their journey.
Khaya from Alu Cab is amazing 👏
It sure is!
beautiful. Nature like mine in the Altai Mountains, South of Western Siberia

did you have much cell signal out there in those camp sites in the mountains?
is this Tacoma long bed size or short bed size which model? Thank u
12:49 watching that jeep go by was kinda cute
12:20 "this fancy truck isn't mine" ....proceeds with sketchy as hell line choice
Chris is a talented driver that has been off-roading for decades. We trust his skills and capabilities :) Thanks for watching!
You are a lucky man. I had to almost accommodate everything in my 320 liters Ford hatchback along with my mom and my wife 😜
Great job Chris! I'm so jealous.
I didn't see anywhere where you explain why you are delivering this truck back to Lancaster, Pa. So wanted to know. Also wondered if you would prefer this setup to your jeep?
what's the brand of the phone & iPad mount you have in the dash? thanks..
How do you find all of your trails and campsites? i.e. how do you plan your routes?
What size are those tires? They look great on the tacoma!
Looks like a great trip!
Exceptionally great video!

Where is this place?
Ouray Colorado.
I need one of these!
Weight of the khaya is at the tacoma’s payload limit, any thoughts on that?
how much does the camper weighs?
You're very organized and neat.
crazy beautiful nature
That thing must be crazy top heavy. Greetings from Australia. Birthplace of overland exploration ha.
Out of curiosity, does having all that additional equipment bog down the V6 on the Tacoma?
Good and simple...😀👍👍👍👌
what brand is your camping refrigerator ????
Love From India Bro Mandi Himanchal Pradesh...!!
I know that I’m late, but also new to overlanding. What iPad rig is that?
Looks like a RAM mount
Sick rig, i just wish it wasnt so damned expensive!!! Also seems pretty heavy to actually go offroad without issue:/ jeep and a tent all the way for this guy!!!
Loved this!
Nice vid. Isn’t that Tacoma way over payload?
I love ouray.
JailBreak Overlander literally my version of heaven too.
i like the way you live !how long did you manage the whole adventure plant?
What app for gps are you using?
That setup is exactly what I want, but never ever could afford....

09:32 America's version of The Yungas Road in Bolivia?
Will the khaya work with the tundra?
I grew up in LC. Great town.
Chris is hands down my favorite overlanding personality. Check out his channel. @venture4wd. He’s as real as it gets.
Very nice video
what GPS app is that at 06:10?
Gaia gps
I can tell you have amazing camera equipment!
Videos that end abruptly like this really freak me out!! Like did something happen? ;-)
Pretty awesome places. I've been to them and it's cool to see it again to bring back those memories.
It's a three parter.
How do you like the KO2s?
Tolles Video , vielen Dank !
Awsome rig! Could you tell me the name of those max trax mounting adapters for those alucab roof crossbars?
They are from Alu-Cab but are no longer available. You can find another solution from GP-Factor.
What Tacoma model is that?

What year Tacoma ?
2016 👍🏼
Why are you, seemingly, the only bloke in all of the US to fit a proper bullbar and scrub bars to your ute? Great set up btw.
