    I also would like to see some more technical talk and your design process, generally more commentary on what, how and why youre doing it. Like for example why u choosed round tubes, which type of steel and how thick. It would help others with decisions with buildings their own projects.

    • @pumppupappi
      @pumppupappi 4 года назад

      Round looks lot cooler. Not looking so homemade. I think steel type doesnt matter something common. Stainless steel may be weaker than normal steel and you paint it anyways?, thickness... It may depend what kind of vehicle you building? How big how powerful motor or how hard use it is coming, big jumps? and you can always add some more pipes where you think it is too weak

    Just get a small car engine and you're good to go. No reverse gearbox bs to deal with and more power and torque than that tiny 600cc. You gonna have to redesign the rear end but oh well. It's worth it.

    How do you want to tighten the chain?
    You need some oblong holes on the engine mount or on the rear axle. The chain will get longer if you drive the buggy.

    Electric reverse. Junkyard starter motor. You can use a one-way bearing on the sprocket so the electric motor doesn’t spin when driving forward. Mount it adjustable to act as the chain tensioner.

    • @pondmonserfox
      @pondmonserfox 5 лет назад

      He tried that on the 2 speed kart with a 4000 Ib winch and it didn't work. although with some design changes it might be worth another shot.

    • @user-neo71665
      @user-neo71665 5 лет назад

      electric reverse in theory sounds good but in real world sucks. In order to have a motor big enough that it's not slow and under powered you might as well build an electric powered buggy.

    This project is completely bad ass honestly. ..and I was watching and wanted to mention something about the rearend suspension set up. You could have possibly saved some joints and weight if you had copied the VW Bug rear suspension....you may have already considered that option back in the beginning but I can't help but think it's tried and true it does work and it works well.. but it's not my project and I'm not going to tell you how to build your projects especially since they end up just fine without my ideas lol just thought I would throw this out there. Maybe an idea for another time anyways awsome build and keep the vids. Coming

    Try and find a Polaris RXL 650 EFI triple, that engine stock makes 108hp and if you get triple SLP or PSI pipes for it you would make just under 130hp so that’s definitely enough power especially because that engine will have a CVT on it
    *BTW it’s a 2-Stroke so I’m sure people would really like that😂*

  • @calholli

    I would put some gussets underneath your rear carrier tube... There's not a lot of structure keeping it from swaying left and right *(yet)...... If you snag your rear tire on something hard (and you will).... It could pull your entire rear carrier assembly with it... bending it to one side, off center... More gussets are your friend on this one, especially around your drive train components. It's gonna have more power than you think. Even if it's not super fast off the very start... it's still gonna pull from a rolling 20mph to 75mph very intensely... These motors scream well above 10k rpms... and they bring power all the way to peak rpms.... Make sure you get a good helmet, this thing is gonna be way faster than you want to deal with. I know, because I turned a CBR600 into a 4wheeler.. and it was nuts. Pretty sure I had like a 53 tooth rear, and maybe 14 front........ Worse case scenario, you can end up running a jack shaft and get your gear reduction even further if needed, later.

  • @HTHCLLC
    @HTHCLLC 5 лет назад

    I made this point due to looking at you sitting on the rear end...at the end. The springs did not sag. If you move the springs vertical. it will be even less compression. I think your springs are way to big.

    How are you going to tighten the chain when it stretches. You will need a solid chain tensioner not a spring loaded one. For the sprockets, have you looked at both 520 and 530 chain sizes? Motorcycle-superstore.com, cyclegear.com, revzilla.com, motomummy.com, ftdcustoms.com, tobefast.com. The are many more sites, but these are what I could think of with ease. Good luck, Rob.

  • @TeamCheap1

    awesome build
    Have you shopped JT sprockets site yet? you may have to do a jackshaft to get the right ratio which I'd think would need to be around 5.5 or 6 to 1
    ahh you'll get it in the end just keep plugging away at it.

    Great vid! I just put gsxr 600 on my cart thats just little smaller then urs im running a 16t countershaft and a 28t rear sprocket cuz it's wat was on the go-cart but I will gear it down u have to clutch it in 1st to take off but it tops out 70-80mph in 1st gear it just roast the tires off on dirt so with ur gearing set up u will prolly be bout right and will have all the power u need that motor should be around 90-100hp

    This is 100 times better than those guys buying wrecked supercars then ordering every part online and assembling them with minor work done. But those ones seem to be the thing at the moment so, when you finish the buggy build maybe do something like a supercar rebuild. For the views, some funding and then you can do stuff like this without many limitations. Just a thought.

    Have you tried aliexpress for your gear box? The same company as Alibaba but they sell single units of the things that are on Alibaba. Also if they are not on aliexpress just email the company that makes them asking them nicely if you can purchase one unit for testing purposes and tell them you are willing to pay a bit extra (if you are that is) I have tried this a number of times and it has worked.

Just call them up sugarcoat them and you may get what you need. If they think they may have a customer base through you they may fall in line.

    If you keep that chain that tight you will rip it apart , it will need between 2 and 3 centimeters of play . Not only the chain wil get damaged also the bearing on the front sprocket cant cope with that strength if you dont give the chain more slack. Also when the chain is to tight , shifting will be more dificult

    The rear drive chain just noticed there is no adjustment for it considering the weight of the vehicle thinking the chain is going to need something in there.
