Freedom of everywhere can is a freedom. Like americans. They easy to get a job easy to going out different country without learning the other language. I guess that is the freedom.
Human freedom , as best we can kinda currently get it has been exemplified by the u.s , I'm from New Zealand btw I consider we have freedom too. Non-freedom has followed ideological pathways , I mean most in the West wouldn t consider a Chinese citizen free in their sense of what freedom means to us. Freedom of individual expression , within the given natural, ethical laws of creative expression, opinion , religious and cultural especially . We have a massive indifference when we have state in religion or the state as the religion. Marxism seems to be the current driving force of non-freedom. We found a few ways that obviously aren't the way. (North Korean 'freedom') Nazis 'freedom'. There's no one definition, democracy was and never has been perfect but it was a big step in fixing our potential as human beings. Only in the civilisation of 'true freedom' which we havnt even traversed yet , beyond democracy we find that. The dictionary definition of what the West believes freedom is was concepted at the acropolis in ancient Greece, those were adapted by the founding U.s. fathers into what we have this model. It is up to us to find the next model and there is always a fight for freedom. U.s. has led the way and must hold that position until they recover and restructure. Freedom was the right to be the truest version of yourself and not be ostracized for it. Be judged sure ,opinion is essential. One big current battle is censorship , in media in everything. I believe freedom has it's own path in mind ,and will pave way for no man in all endeavours to seek an eternal quest of "true freedom" whatever that is ultimate expression of oneself , ultimate expressions of culture and belief systems. Integration and separation are required. Like a heart surgeons work we lay the structures for what will become a new foundation at some stage. A.i. ,space travel, mars colonies, these things are here now and instead of focusing on war for this planet mankind must combine resources and will power to redirect our efforts of ridiculous 'defense expenditure' to exploration of the new world and new planets ,new resources ,ultimately survival, which has th3 exact same goal as supernations nuclear weapons stockpiles. Freedom to leave earth may also be consider3d a freedom in future.
@@chrisgould101 thank you for this thoughtful comment and contributing to the discussion. I love how you approach the topic from an collective and not individualistic point of view. And I think, your right. We will have to find out. Therefore we need to ask these questions and exchange ideas and opinions to move on and find new and better ways of cooperating and living with one another. One might ask, if anyone really can be free as long as someone or even something else in this world is not.
The video is Incredible, the content, editing, diverse peoples. This work deserves a million of likes and views. You did Great sir👏Thank you for sharing it to us.🇵🇭
Freedom is being able to do all the things that you always wanted to do and achieve without being restrained by code, morale, fear, guilt and society judgement and most importantly to be able to be the best version of yourself and reach your full potential.
DUDEEEE!! I love this. The people, the words, the content, the editing... I can go on. Such an amazing and positive video. Thank you so much for taking the time to create this and share with the world!
This is amazing!!! ever since I was a child, I always knew no mental, emotional nor physical shackles held me down; unless I chose for them to do so. The limitations of freedom; and I don't even consider them as such, but they are to be righteous, fair, and positive in all aspects as possible. As long as our actions bring no harm to others we are free to do whatever we desire. WE ARE FREE...... let us remember that always and keep moving forward relentlessly.
Thank you for this beautiful video! Before watching it, I actual stumbled into this question and I decided, as you did, to ask different people I know around the world to try to grasp this universal yet very abstract concept. In the end, each individual had its own definition and perception of freedom. Some believed that being free required knowledge, in order to be aware of being free. Some divided freedom between the one that we have when we interact with the world and the one we feel inside of us (the feeling of freedom). It also made me realise that when you live in society, absolute freedom does not exist since your freedom stops where someone’s starts. In the end, it is a reminder of the beautiful universality of our world
thank you for leaving such a thoughtful and interesting comment! I think "absolut freedom" might be an ambiguity in itself, since freedom needs boundaries to exist. Without restrains freedom would be normality, rather mundane than profund and probably treated as given rather than special. Though, what I keep on thinking about is, if we need to redefine freedom in a global connected world or if we actually should let it be define by the diversity of humankind.
Wow, hatten Gänsehaut! Jeder Satz in diesem Film ist wahr. Und jeder sollte sich fragen, was Freiheit für ihn bedeutet. Danke, dass wir ein Teil davon sein dürfen!
Wojtek! Was ein Meisterwerk! 💚
Another truly captivating and thought-provoking piece of filmmaking from you Wojtek that invites several re-watches, pressing the pause button and pondering. I was delighted to see the woman at 1:35 say "Saoirse" which is the word Freedom in my language, Gaeilge (and also the name of my youngest daughter). Beginning with the sounds of a busy, noisy city and ending with the tranquility of a train ride in a totally different space was genius; you absolutely took us from a cluttered place mentally to a wiser, calmer one. I love how we humans are connected by the desires we have in common and how our perspectives can open up by talking with and listening to each other.
Thank you, Treasa! This was actually my first attempt at something more filmic and an idea that I'd like to take on in shape of a bigger project one day. I really appreciate the kind words and I'm happy to hear this resonated with you 🙏🙌
5:16 really hit the jackpot. Much of today’s society takes the word “freedom” for granted. They take everything they have and desire as a “right” and entitlement rather than a blessing and privilege. However, you can not have freedom without responsibility, otherwise there will be no accountability.
To me being free is not spending your life in captivity, poverty and unhappiness. Freedom is a state of pure happiness while feeling harmony for everything.
@@JustWojtek The class is the beginning of training for our prayer practitioners in the tradition of religious science (Science of Mind). We began our conversation about what freedom is by viewing your video. People loved the quality of the responses as well as the diversity of speakers and the outstanding photography. It allowed them to touch into a deeper awareness of freedom than the intellectual definitions. I also suggested that they check out other videos on your site. I found your offerings because the freedom video was the top of the Google list when I google something like "meaning of freedom video"
This video was just phenomenal. I originally came here because this video was made as a prerequisite watch for one of my campus' student training programs tomorrow, but I'm just stunned at the amount of work and depth put into it. I aspire to be able to create such quality content and I'm genuinely alarmed that your channel isn't getting the attention that it should. Best of luck for your future endeavors, may we all find our freedom! 🙌🏼
I believe the view on freedom has drastically changed in the past two years, since covid-19. It would be interesting to see this same question asked again. In the U.S. some people view mask and vaccines mandates as violating personal freedom, yet going out into public without these simple precautions can put immno-compromised individuals' lives at great risk.
definitely, yet I think the content in this video is somewhat timeless - I'm thinking: Following regulations and restrictions may compromise your freedom in one way, but sustain or even excel in another. Would you agree?
Thanks so much for making this brother. When you asked me what freedom meant to me , it’s amazing how many people articulate the same thing from around the world. I talked about Physical Mental Spiritual Material Freedoms confident that I was in a place of freedom however 2 or so months later I have watched this video with a reflection that I was in a trap of perceived freedoms . I have lost all in the last few months - emptied my cup and am now in a receiving level . Thank you for this
Freedom is like imaginaton. No one can take it from you unless you let it go. People think that abling to do something is freedom. No!. Even if you are locked up, you are free!
Yes and yes. On the one hand I totally agree, on the other I know that at least from my point of view I'm in a very privileged position to think and feel this way, where others around the world might miss and lack, what is normal to me. What do you say?
When there is no barriers or rules there is no freedom.. Freedom is not to do whatever you want to do... Freedom is to have the ability to chose what is good for you...good for your health.. Good for your future... If it is just to do what ever you want.. then you will be slave to your bad desires.... Then you are not free...
Just 1 minute in and I already told myself that I have to subscribe to this channel. The amount of work you put in creating the content, story, artistic shots and editing is just awesome. 🙂
I am an adult with a career and a child. I can NOT choose where I live. Shit, even in my lower middle class wage I still have to have roommates, as many do with equivalent jobs such as teachers. I have to make compromises all the time for my work, its just the reality of life. Not only did this editing instantly feel off to me, the disingenuous naive idea of freedom seems to mean wealth and privilege, even as a white male I do not have these privileges or "freedoms". Must be nice to be "free".
I’m sorry to read that you are having a tough time. I made this film in a very intense but also very lucky phase of my life. The direction of this film was not inspired by my own ideas but by the 30+ people from around the world. Maybe give it a fresh look on another day. Or don’t. Either way, thank you for your time and for sharing your feelings.
there is actually one person from Myanmar in there. It’s the man who says “owning my own business (without the government interfering) - and yes, I wish I could have done that project on a bigger scale
Freedom Freedom, is a privilege that every person living in a democratic country is proud to possess, and in many constitutions, the freedom of the individual is guaranteed. The word "freedom" is a general word, which means three different things, freedom of speech, freedom of the person and freedom of assembly. We deal firstly with freedom of speech, a most important right since, if a country is to be run on democratic lines, every individual should be allowed to say publicly what he thinks. In England, no such specific right is laid down in the constitution specifically, thought here are many ways in which the law can be broken. Defamation is not allowed, and can take the form of libel or slander. defamatory matter is matter which causes some other person to be brought into ridicule, hatred or contempt, and if it is written down, it is libel, whereas, if it is spoken, it is slander. Genuine criticism made in good faith is quite acceptable, however. Sometimes, it becomes difficult to determine what constitutes libel or slander, and as a famous writer on English law, Professor Dicey, once wrote "freedom of discussion consists in the right to write or say anything which a jury, consisting of twelve shopkeepers, think it expedient should be said or written." Freedom of speech also includes the freedom to worship as one pleases, a most important RIGHT. However, it is against the law to publish blasphemous material, which is defined as material which reviles God and religion. Clearly the right to speak freely does not include the right to publish obscenity, and the law is naturally strict on this subject. Finally, under freedom of speech, we must consider the position of the press, and in general, it can be said that press writers stand in the same position as letter writers, in that they are free to print what they like, provided that it is not libelous. However, if a newspaper libels someone, it is usually a defen2e to say that the libel was not intended or malicious, and that a full apology should be inserted at the earliest opportunity. The next aspect of freedom is freedom of assembly, and since one man is legally allowed to publish his views, it follows that a hundred or more can meet together to do the same thing. However, form the point of view of public safety, meetings should be subject to some form of official control, and the police in many countries are vested with a number of powers. If a policeman suspects that a public meeting is likely to cause a breach of the peace, he can break it up as the community's safety is at stake. In addition, if something illegal is going on at the meeting, it can be broken up. The law with regard to processions is similar: they are not against the law, but if a procession is obstructing the highway, it can be broken up, and the authorities can lay down the route for a procession, so as to avoid troublesome or congested areas. The last important aspect of freedom is freedom of the person. While it is true to say that in this country, every person is liable to be arrested for his criminal acts, there are important safeguards for the individual which ensure speedy trial or release if the charge is wrong. This right is laid down in the Habeas Corpus Procedure. Habeas Corpus (meaning "you have the body") is a procedure, whereby the prisoner or his friend demands a writ from a judge, which is then served upon the gaoler who has to show good cause why the particular person has been arrested. If he cannot do this, the prisoner must be released. even if, the arrest is proved to be correct, the Habeas corpus writ ensures a speedy trial and right to bail. Though nobody can be arrested without good cause, certain countries authorize the temporary detention of political suspects. In conclusion, two important points should the stressed. Firstly, the government should not curtail the individual's freedom too strictly, and that this can have disastrous consequences, is well illustrated by the French Revolution of 1889. Here, the people rebelled against a government which applied the law too strictly and unfairly against the lower classes and which completely restricted personal freedom. The government was over-thrown and a period of social disorder resulted as there were no laws nor central administration left, any tyranny was replaced by another. Secondly, for society's sake, freedom should not be abused by the people and law should be observed. Man is primarily a member of society and of a community rather than an individual, and though his freedom is important, it must be limited to conform tot he well-being of other members of the same society. freedom, which is not subject to some form of control is of no value at all.
Freedom is being free from all the emotions that can affect adversely. Finally FREEDOM IS FREEDOM, nobody can explain it.it can only be felt. Wishing everyone to get their freedom of your own perspection. & Thank god for my existence. Dude you are really awesome to make a documentary kinda like this.i would call you a free spirit.Totally loved your work coz freedom is > anything in the world. Loka samastha sukhino bhavanthu.
In his difficult work Being and Nothingness, Sartre paints a bleak picture of human relationships.[3] He says that relationships involve a constant struggle over freedom, which is the only thing that really matters.[4] This tension arises because we either treat other people as objects (which undermines their freedom), or we allow ourselves to be treated as objects by them (which undermines ours). Either way, someone’s freedom is threatened, so encountering another person necessarily results in a struggle for dominance. Thus, Sartre’s pessimistic view of relationships seems to be grounded in his broader philosophy.
That's a bit hard to interpret. I am not sure, if Sartre in this context literally means "objects" as objects or rather as treating ourselves as separate from on another (as opposed to ourselves - the subject). Either way I do not see that restricting ones freedom in and of it's own. There is some degree of freedom in the struggle, since without there would only be established dominance but no flux and exchange in interpersonal relationships.
What if freedom requires limits to exists? Just like happiness requires sorrow to be distinct. What really is freedom when it does not make a difference wether you know you are free or not?
@@JustWojtek i believe what I said to be the truest form of freedom. An Idealism not realism. Something beyond our humanity. But I agree that a realistic freedom needs its limits. Having limits defines us as 3 dimensional creatures. Loved your Video btw! It made me think about it the entire time during work
Dang sucks I feel like I’m never free from my parents all I ever wanted was freedom it’s like I’m trapped in a world where there is no freedom and it’s like there’s a world with freedom right beside so I gotta bust through all the layers of the wall to get to freedom and peace but my mom and dad and siblings block it
For me, freedom is living a balanced life without regret. Just because we're free doesn't mean we can be reckless, everything have its limit in life, including how much freedom, how much freedom can you have until it become a reckless ignorance. We free to eat anything but eat to much and there will be a consequence, that is how freedom really is. As long as you stick with the moral, stick with the rule, and don't bother other, you technically can do anything and be anything you want as long as you know the limit. I learn it the hard way, of what is freedom to me is, to live a life with no regret.
Living without saying free***, it called fre***, it’s not about happiness,or financial independence, or doing whatever you want, it’s just accepting it, what u got, it’s my side of opinion
For me freedom means to do what you want to do. , even people, friends, family told you is meaningless you will still do it , and once you make your choices you WILL NEVER look back.
Very insightful. I think it can be summarized as to have physical freedom (health), financial freedom(money), spiritua freedom(inner bliss) and mental freedom(free from guilt and anger)!
from me I have stated that humans have Freewill, but only having freedom as a human being not a universal being. but if we talk freedom as a human we have if we are free of we should do, but why i said that we don't have freedom as a universal being? Only God can have a freedom, only him. we can't do what we want, we follow laws, such as univeral laws and human laws like gravity and morality 🙂 We exist as a slave in existence, We follow laws, and we ought to act, our nature. We eat. We Work for ourselves, we take care of our selves .the point that we don't have universal freedom, is we can't do what God Can do, we are limited Because we are not beyond from existence, we are inside the box of existence, we became slave to existence.
God is beyond existence, but being beyond from existence doesn't mean he don't exist, we just hard to grasp what it is really. God created existence, see genesis 1:1 (God created time, In the beginning (time) God created heaven (Space) and earth (matter) so he created existence... so he beyond existence) thank you. BTW God for me is omniscient
i had to watch this for school, but i'm so glad my teacher had us watch this. it's truly inspiring and opened my mind to see the world differently then how i see it now. :]
@@JustWojtek but you wanna know what’s even more after a watch a thing of freedom from Attack on titan this videos popped up in my recommendation it gave me hope
Freedom is when something doesnt cost you anything when you do something. If you work for someone you pay takes to take care of the rich because they dont pay taxes. Thats right rich people do not have pot holes in front of their houses. Streets that have never seen a cop car. Well lite at night to walk saftely. No shacks where drugys hang out ( they do it inside their manions). Water lights services always never get turned off if not paid. Their rich its an insult to send them a bill they have the money because they dont pay. We the working people who work 12 hours and more pay for everything with our taxes. Cant aford a good car bills pile up lose our house rich slum lords buy just for the taxes we couldnt pay to suport the rich. Yes freedom to be used by the rich who enjoy the suffering we do to make sure they have freedom to pay lawyers keeping them out of jail. Freedom is when your dead and you cant see hear or care about whats happening to the world or yourself and you finaly be rich because your not paying any taxes. Free at last free at last thank death im free at last.
@@bradcooper195 it is and for other people it is other things. One question that remains is how we can agree collectively on some form or kind of freedom.
@@JustWojtek I live in the US. 98% of people I know are more than willing to trade their freedom for some safety and in doing so, wind up taking freedoms away from others that see freedom as more important than government-imposed safety. Because I can only speak about freedom from the standpoint of a US citizen, my opinion only covers a small portion of humanity. Your question is HUGE. The answer could fill a library. How about this... never impose personal ideals on others. Never harm others. I think if we could start there, a majority might, after a few generations, see freedom as more important than safety. But... what do I know? :)
@@bradcooper195 you are right, it is a huge question and it brings many controversies and contradictions with it. For instance people - apart from my or your personal opinion - are free to chose safety over certain kinds of freedom or the other way around (although I am pretty sure, nobody wouldn't trade "total freedom" for "total safety"). And as much as I agree on not harming and not imposing personal ideals on others - it brings the question with it, how to deal with people who actually harm and impose ideals on others, without being aware of doing it (for instance believing, that it actually benefits others). If. we choose to punish such people, we violate our own morals to make clear, that we do not tolerate the violation of our own morals - but does that make it morally right? There are more questions than answers here I guess, but I enjoy conversations like this. Staying open to other opinions and seeing the points of others, can also be a freeing experience, I guess.
The Earth, its Creations, and Life was once free. No more. And never again. Now; people believe greed, money, and virtue equal freedom. Only the lowly are free. I dont mean the poor. I mean the humble spirits. The people who, genuinely, care about those they have never met. Who will stop and help. Imagine the possibilities when economy doesnt dictate or obscure the Right To Live.
I think we make it too complicated and important what freedom is, like you can’t really describe Colors you see, you can’t describe freedom you’re feeling
FREEDOM: limited to the size of a piece of old paper under glass. Freewill: a Father of all living beings right to have freewill to do as we wish, and a right to choose. So as long as we do not use our freewill to harm another living creature, on purpose. There is nothing to say, no consequence.
Choices, options, ideas, opportunity, safety, responsibility, to work hard and enjoy the rewards, to create, to respect others,to be able to make decisions
Don’t lie to yourself… Don’t you wish you can go anywhere, do anything, eat whatever, sleep wherever, get whatever is logical. I mean you don’t need to abuse hoarding abundance. Plus I’m greedy for freedom. How can I be happy if there is still a value tag to happiness? Give me my care package drones on demand. Monopoly products competition who wins the best of the best. For greed like which is better preference of happiness. The classic Coke vs Pepsi when they should work together 🥲like an all in one drink machine.
What does Freedom mean to you?

@@elyssajavier Thank you so much, Elyssa! I´m happy this film resonates with you 🙏🏻
I have an essay tomorrow and the topic is "freedom is.." So here I am
hope this helped and inspired you a little
😊
So what is freedom?
To me, freedom is traveling around the world with nothing holding you back. Feeling the waters, the wind, the earth and just simply being at peace.
Freedom is never vote for Democrat again!
You touched my heart. ❤
Thank you so much for taking the time to create this and share with the world!
thanks so much for watching 🙏 appreciate the message having such a positive impact
Yh new age of pirates
This is awesome!!!! Thanks to everyone who took part!! FREEDOM!!!!!! Special thanks to Martin and Romina 😘
Love how much you love it! thank you 🙏
Wow, hatten Gänsehaut! Jeder Satz in diesem Film ist wahr. Und jeder sollte sich fragen, was Freiheit für ihn bedeutet. Danke, dass wir ein Teil davon sein dürfen!

Wojtek! Was ein Meisterwerk! 💚

5:16 She is on point. Freedom without discipline, Responsibility and limits doesn't exist.
definitely!
However, you can not have freedom without responsibility, otherwise there will be no accountability.
word. so much truth to this 🙏
To me being free is not spending your life in captivity, poverty and unhappiness. Freedom is a state of pure happiness while feeling harmony for everything.
It think, that's a lovely definition.
For me, the definition of freedom is the definition of heaven, happiness, peacefulness, and stability combined.
Freedom is the foundation of a happy life ...

Best of luck for your future endeavors, may we all find our freedom! 🙌🏼
Thank you so much! And I’m always blown away to hear this film is used for educational purposes 🙏🏻🙌🏻
In our language they call freedom as #SWA- TANTRA- TA# meaning u r having freedom when you are in the doctorine /system /autonomy of your SELF **
Thanks so much for making this brother. When you asked me what freedom meant to me , it’s amazing how many people articulate the same thing from around the world.

Then you are not free...
though, would the ability to choose between good or bad not also imply freedom?

Freedom,is when your neighbor can do as he pleases,if it hurts no one. No one in America, believes in that anymore,ok,just a few.you and me
I am an adult with a career and a child.
I made this film in a very intense but also very lucky phase of my life. there is actually one person from Myanmar in there. It’s the man who says “owning my own business (without the government interfering) - and yes, I wish I could have done that project on a bigger scale
Freedom
Freedom, is a privilege that every person living in a democratic country is proud to possess, and in many constitutions, the freedom of the individual is guaranteed.
You might find full freedom on an Island.😉✌️The more people the more problems I see🙉
On the other hand you might find yourself trapped by a body of water 😄

Freedom for me is being able to do anything without being bound by the limits of this universe. How can you be free if youre limited by factors.

I think it can be summarized as to have physical freedom (health), financial freedom(money), spiritua freedom(inner bliss) and mental freedom(free from guilt and anger)!

from me
I have stated that humans have Freewill, but only having freedom as a human being not a universal being.
but if we talk freedom as a human we have if we are free of we should do, but why i said that we don't have freedom as a universal being? Only God can have a freedom, only him. we can't do what we want, we follow laws, such as univeral laws and human laws like gravity and morality 🙂 We exist as a slave in existence, We follow laws, and we ought to act, our nature. We eat. We Work for ourselves, we take care of our selves .the point that we don't have universal freedom, is we can't do what God Can do, we are limited Because we are not beyond from existence, we are inside the box of existence, we became slave to existence.
Interesting. What is God for you?
God is beyond existence, but being beyond from existence doesn't mean he don't exist, we just hard to grasp what it is really.
God created existence, see genesis 1:1
(God created time, In the beginning (time) God created heaven (Space) and earth (matter) so he created existence... so he beyond existence) thank you. BTW God for me is omniscient

Free at last free at last thank death im free at last.
there surely may be relieve in death, but the challenge seems to be to find relive in life - despite all suffering.
Good question. When have we actually had it?
well, what do you think?
@@JustWojtek Freedom is so many things. The act of being left alone to handle your own life. To live unincumbered. To choose by your own will.

What if economy doesn't and actually still humankind does?

"To the boy who sought freedom... goodbye!"
this video seems to attract quite some attack on titans fans
Touching
that's more than I could ask for 🙏
Incredible Video👏
Thank you 🙌 🙇♂️
I think we make it too complicated and important what freedom is, like you can’t really describe Colors you see, you can’t describe freedom you’re feeling
...or consciousness or what it means to be a person. I think, you are on a good and interesting path here.
FREEDOM: limited to the size of a piece of old paper under glass.
Freewill: a Father of all living
beings right to have freewill to do as we wish, and a right to choose. So as long as we do not use our freewill to harm another living creature, on purpose. There is
nothing to say, no consequence.
Please add real Closed Captions (not auto-generated ones) to make this accessible! Freedom to access information :)
thank you for pointing this out, I'm on it!
Choices, options, ideas, opportunity, safety, responsibility, to work hard and enjoy the rewards, to create, to respect others,to be able to make decisions
love all of those!
Amazing! I really needed to see this...thank you.
Thank you Brian, I love to hear that 🙏
Don’t lie to yourself… Don’t you wish you can go anywhere, do anything, eat whatever, sleep wherever, get whatever is logical.
I wouldn't say that I don't secretly wish for that, sometimes. But I'm not sure that wish is always needed or helpful.
