Québec City sits on the Saint Lawrence River in Canada's mostly French-speaking Québec province. Dating to 1608, it has a fortified colonial core, Vieux-Québec and Place Royale, with stone buildings and narrow streets. This area is the site of the towering Château Frontenac Hotel and imposing Citadelle of Québec. The Petit Champlain district’s cobblestone streets are lined with bistros and boutiques.

I've been to Quebec City many times and this past summer I stayed at the Chateau Frontenac for the first time. Most amazing hotel and well worth the money.

This city is just so beautiful. It screams French. The Québécois in Québec City are very, very lucky to live in the most extremely French city in North America. I’ve been to Le Havre, France in Europe. That city is just as beautiful as Québec. And I also been to Natchitoches, Louisiana in the USA. Natchitoches’ French heritage is not as strong as Québec’s, but it is there under all that American culture. It would be nice if Louisiana in the USA was like Québec. All I can say to this wonderful city in the francophone province of Québec is,

Honesty the French quarter in New Orleans is very very French and similar to the architecture you find in Quebec. Louisiana just didn’t have the population size that Quebec did so the French culture got a lot more diluted over the years. But as you say it’s still very French mixed with Cajun, Caribbean and American culture.

This is NOT Quebec !, this is Quebec in Covid-19 mode. We are so much full of joy and much much more in the streets, the restaurants ,and terasses are full normally at this time of the year (Winter is Comming) and you have the perfect day to shoot video, BUT a huge fire occured in the same time at Davie's shipyard construction site .... so you miss a LOT because of the smoke ;) normally in this condition you can see all of the ile d'orlean and the path of the river ( fleuve saint-laurent )
Unfortunately, a lot has changed with Covid😞😢. I sincerely hope that good days will come again soon🙏💖

I'm so sorry for Canada. Most things about a good Canada are not true, Including clean cities - beaches, and forests. It's a big lie. The first time I arrived in Vancouver in 2018, I was shocked. As soon as I left the airport door, I saw tissue, disposable glasses, and other garbage left in the city. The further I went, the more I saw them. Before I moved to Canada, I lived in Georgia, Armenia, Turkey, Serbia, The United States, and for a short time in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Netherland, Germany, and England, but I have never seen the amount of garbage that people leave in different Canadian cities. Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec are no less than Vancouver. Canadian and Canada Governments don't care about this tragedy. I think everything that says about Canada as a clean and powerful culture is not true. You don't need to travel to Canada to see this. Just watch some videos about walking in downtown Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec. You will find the truth. Impossible for you to walk in a Canadian city and you don't see the dark side of that. Everywhere you will see garbage. You will never see this in Europe, Australia, the United States, Japan, and Korea. This amount of waste is not even seen in Malaysian, Indonesian, or Thailand cities. It is impossible for you to use public transport and not see a lot of garbage at stations or on the route. You will be surprised to find a lot of garbage even in the woods - by the rivers and on the beaches in Canada. I wish the Canadians woke up and had no enmity with their country.

I do like winter but only for about a month or 2 of it.... 6 months of cold,rain,snow less sunlight each year gets very old quick.

You can learn French while in Québec, if you really want to stay here. When you are struggling you can switch to English. Lots of people understand English (they will just assume you are a tourist).
I'm pure English and live in the province of Quebec. Only place I feel at home .Montreal has a large English population and some other areas of Quebec also. I live in a small village...

The city erects a massive toboggan slide with 8 lanes on the Dufferin Terrace next to the Chateau Frontenac .
Also the city used to erect on the lawn next to the Chateau a large outside screen for movies.
There used to be a large Mardi Gras parade before Halloween.
As well as the Bonhomme carnaval/ winter Carnival.
