Her lawyer did say he felt she was OK being in jail as she was fed, housed and her health looked after, and she is back on the streets now, sort of makes you think, I wonder how she feels about it. I feel bad for the family that died, the fact that nobody has been held accountable is just so sad!! RIP...

I mean, she can be mentally challenged AND guilty of the crime of arson and involuntary manslaughter or something akin to negligent homicide (to be fair, I think 2nd degree murder charges were inappropriate, considering the circumstances and the suspect’s clear disabilities; the DA should’ve sought lesser charges, and I bet the jury would’ve convicted). These things need not be mutually exclusive. As a side note, I do believe Kathleen’s son put the idea in her head, knowing that his mother had the mental capacity of a child (and other mental issues).

I believe she is guilty. All the evidence points to her. Also, if she was capable of gathering the items to set the fire she's capable of understanding right and wrong. She even confessed without being manipulated. That should have been a guilty judgement after she confessed. She literally murdered five innocent people for her son because she wanted to control her family and keep what she thought she lost. That's narcissistic. I would not feel safe with her in my neighborhood. I am mentally handicapped and I wouldn't hurt anyone and I understand laws. She showed no feelings for the victims but she was upset about her own situation instead. Defense attorneys can be very evil. He literally abused witnesses for his client and acts like it's okay because it's his job to help very dangerous criminals to be free from consequences. How is that justice? The reason no one has been converted for the murders is because the murderer was set free. She murdered five people by setting fire to their house.

Great, so she obviously has previous mental health issues and personality disorders that never go away. Why the hell did they not put her in a psychiatric facility instead of prison. So she was on the street and ended up in prison for 10 years. So she has a roof over her head, 3 squares a day, and mental treatment. She gets found not guilty and tossed back on the street.

For sure she committed Arson. She knew what she was doing. It was carefully planned. I would have found her guilty on reasons of insanity. She does have mental problems but at the time of the fire, she carefully planned on setting the fire. She should have been found guilty and sent to a mental facility to get help.

If it was your special ed mom or aunt you wouldn't be saying that. Also it's called, "reasonable doubt" regardless of arson murder etc you can literally know someone did something but proving it regardless of the defendant's state of mind is part of due process.

I’d like to see an update on that, it’s wild to live where something so horrific happened and to know people involved. :( A lot of good people have been broken.
