  • This is the final scene in the series finale of Nip/Tuck (Hiro Yahimura). It's between Christian Troy and Sean McNamara.
    Nip/Tuck ending forever.
So SAD this show is over. I loved this series. :(
    * I know it's reversed. I did that for a reason. *
I do not own the footage. Clip credit goes to those that do.

In the end you realize the only one Christian truly loved was sean. Hes the only one hes willing to do something selfless for.

That's not true its just different variations or levels of love is all, Christian also loved would give his life for his son or his grand daughter probably even Shawns 2 biological children as well. he just is really really really loyal to his best friend and that is in turn reciprocated all there lives,I have 1 out of 2 best friends who is almost like that, but not quite as extreme as this show though no hah,but it is possible without being some weirdo who only loves his best friend, and Christian is not gay, he was abused and sodomized as a child so that is always gonna mess with his head and choices, but hes not gay.

In my opinion the friendship between Sean and Christian was an interesting and compelling one but overall very toxic. Them finally splitting up means Sean can eventually find happiness and Christian can keep doing what he does… hurting others, and himself.

Sean tried to leave Christian so many times but never could. Even in the end he looks back for a reason to stay. Christian had to be the one to let him go. Christian never looks back and so Sean left. Such a sad but beautiful ending. The show went downhill after they left Miami, but the last episode almost redeemed it.

I don't get why people dislike the show after the surgeons left Miami. All the seasons had both week and strong moments. After rewatching it for the 2nd time it's become one of the series that will always symbolize the 2000s for me.

It really nailed the 2000's for me too my friend. Thanks for sharing because this show will always be one of my favorites of the 2000's when I was watching this show on DVD (I gots every season on disc) and I only ever watch it on DVD. Today I have to use an external BR/DVD drive to play my favorites like Nip/Tuck since most notebooks dont have disc drives anymore. But there's something special about playing this show on disc, in lieu of finding a stream somewhere online...popping in the DVD discs reminds me of watching this show in college, studying/chiilling/etc. When we used to use DVD players,...now here we are! Sean hope you're still watching brother

For about the first 3 and a half seasons this show was brilliantly scripted. All the story arcs were intiguing, grounded in reality. Then something happened with all the hollywood/showbusiness arcs and it became mind numbing. The last half season was good as they delved into Sean and Christians relationship and I LOVE this last scene. Sean looks back, Christian doesn't while holding back a tearful smile. And then that signature shot of Christian at the bar with a drink, delivering his "I'm a plastic surgeon" speal, it was just perfect ending. All you need to know about their relationship summed up in just a couple scenes.

I came to this video after watching how Kimber dies. And, somehow... it made this "ending" kind of sad for me. Cause, i mean... while Kimber is dead (jump from a boat into the sea commiting suicide), Christian is perfectly fine, doing exactly what he did with Kimber the first time he meet her. I know Christian cant feel guilty about Kimber decisions. But i dont know... Its kind of weird how thing turn out for some people.

I'm not going to lie Matt was the most annoying character on this series. I wish Sean and Christian had just shipped him off to military school. But as Christian's son the finale proved that those two characters never change.

  • @jocelynware6697

To be honest this ended realistically. Matt was OBSESSED with Ava. He could've been with the best girl in the world for him, but if Ava would've come back again it would've been the same thing. They were just too compatible. When Julia took the kids to England I praised The Lord above. They needed a real chance at being happy and having a decent life. When Christian. realised his selfish ways and let Sean go... there's no better way you could've ended it. Not every story's end has a cliffhanger. This one was perfect. And I was crying like a baby when Christian walked away teary-eyed and didn't look back. And that song. Whoa.

As far as weather or not Christian changed, I think they, the creators of the show, leave it up to the viewer. However, it is very clear that he does change when he lets Sean go, as his subconcious Kimber and Julia told him to do in order to save him. So, Christian truly makes a selfless sacrifice. I believe the last scene is about Christian accepting who he is/always was, as evidenced by the fact he told Sean earlier in the episode that he was the only person he thought could change. But this does not mean Christian hasn't changed, in a way, or at the very least matured a little. That is my wishful thinking on the matter. But this isn't a happily-ever-after kind of show. They could have easily let Matt marry Romana and his issues would have been resolved, but they didn't. They could have easily led Julia back to Sean or Christian but didn't. They could have easily let Liz find love with that married woman but they didn't. This show is based in reality, and reality sucks. But the characters do mature, they find closure in some places and in others they don't. It's about looking for that silver lining, and finding a peace of self any way possible.

Here are my thoughts on why I actually find this finale rather beautiful. It seems happy, but it's not. It's tragic. Focus on Christian for a moment.
The final scene where he picks that woman up isn't a sly callback to who he has always been - it's a tragic one. Despite the upbeat music, his off-kilter smile shows that he knows deep inside that while he'll never have trouble picking up a girl, he's doomed never to know true affection again.
    It walked away with Sean.

I watched the whole show in a week .The best seasons were definitely in the beginning but it still was amazing watch . I definitely imagine some thing different for the ending I thought it would all have a very happy ending and Sean and Christian being together or something or realizing there feelings for each other. But I definitely understand this ending and it’s more realistic but also a let down idk I just love it sm and Even though I’m 10 years late they have definitely got an extra diehard fan. Will definitely be re-watching

I liked the end for three reasons. First, when I thought about the perfect end for the show a few seasons ago, I had something like that in my mind. At least Sean leaving for something he likes. Second, I liked the very last shot because I like it when Series end where they started. And finally I liked to see Christian doing the most selfless thing he's ever done for his best friend.

For Christian,he realised that his possessive persona was holding Sean back from who Sean himself wanted to be-and despite attempts to keep the partnership together for his own gain-I was fucking really glad that he copped on to himself and let his best friend go be who he wants to be. It was good redemption for him to realise how much he fears change and how he hurts others because of it. Matt returning to Ava however, was a total disapointment. He deserved happiness and real personal closure.

OMG I cried so hard when I watched this on TV ;( I love Christian and Sean. I think their friendship is one of a kind. They both love each other, but sometimes I felt that Christian loved Sean more and his final act just proved it. I never hated Christian, I don't know why, but I always felt sorry for him. His whole being an ass attitude is a way to protect himself from getting hurt. Being the predator is better than being a victim, like when he was a victim of child abuse, which messed him up.

At first I didn't like the ending because I expecting something big or shocking. However the simplicity was enough. I think I liked it because although Christian was a huge liar and only considered himself, he realized that he would not change. He actually listened to Kimber's ghost and made Sean do something he loved so that Christian would no longer kill him slowly. At the end, he actually thought about someone else instead of himself and proved that he possibly loved Sean the best (when, at one point, Sean declared he loved Christian the best)

What would have made a better finale is the following:
    1. Christian goes to prison for the first crime he & Sean commited and suffers in incarceration.
    2. Sean leaves the country and would go to prison if he ever came back.
    3. Matt redeems himself and gets married to someone who doesn't bring him down.
This was a great show but had a really dull ending. Sean was the only one that had a life-changing event. Only had Christian & Matt had better endings, it might have been a better finale.

I love the ending. Christian finally realises that he is dragging Sean down with him and does the one good thing. As the final scene shows, Christian won´t change and neither will Matt. Sean and Sean alone was salvageable. The entire show focuses on a group of people that are all immensely flawed and screwed up.

That's a mirror image of the show. Anyway, the ending was quite tearful even though i think the show was probably two seasons too long. Like a lot of people I never cared for Matt and it was odd that he wasn't at the finale's dinner. Still, the Sean/Christian farewell was beautiful and the "I'm a plastic surgeon" ending was fitting. Nip/tuck could never retain that freshness, originality and edginess that season one had and seemed to get more and more ridiculous as the seasons went on. Even though as I say I loved the ending I don't think I could have handled another season. Season one was 10/10, the ending great but overall 7/10.

The final scene is exactly the same as how he met Kimber. True, he cheated on Kimber and they had their down moments, but he always loved her deep dpwn. When she finally killed herself, Christian was so wracked by guilt afterwards. Now, what this final scene shows, is him meeting this girl whom he may also fall in love with. And, if so, maybe he now knows not to make the same mistakes twice and, just maybe, there is hope for him after all.

Even after all this time, I HATED the ending. Sean was going to continue his destructive ways. I always felt there was a deep love between them. They weren't in love as in a couple, but they loved each other. So, where's the movie where they finally end up together?

This is a perfect ending to me becuase, the moral was of this series who ever stays around him for so long destroys themselves and has all his negative energy but he always lands on his feet and has the luxuries out of life, the episode with kimbers angel or dead body or we talkking to him saying the only way to get away was to kill herself and julia saying shes gna pray for sean becuase he will destroy him aswell and christian knew it and let sean go after all theese years!

I'm really disappointed that they made Sean hate Christian so much by the end of the series, they had such a great friendship early on...

I feel sorry for Christian. Sean's gonna be ok eventually. He has his family and a more stable mindset. Christian has a lot of psychological baggage and it's hard to imagine anyone being happy living such a shallow life :(

At no moment did Chirstian look back; Troy did, hoping for a reason (maybe not to leave) but he knows perfectly well how Ch. really was, is, and will be so he chuckles a bit while turning his head back and accepts that is it.

Was my favorite show also. However it did go downhill after season 3, yet I still enjoyed it. Troy McNamara made the show. I can do without his Son's drama.

I think they should'v had an episode where Sean or Christian finally see that Matt will never learn his mistakes and take Jenna from him. That would be interesting episode. They find out Matt lied and left with Ava, they track him down and plan to get custody of Jenna. Plus, I wanted to see Liz's baby and how things are doing with Julia and her new husband.

this show is now over from about 2 years and people still wanted, still write on youtube videos, still talk about it,still mising it.why don't they arrange a 7th season, were shean comes back to the USA with his mind changed, and start working again with his partner chainging location, and start working in some place were they really need plastic surgeons, like Africa.
that's will be a great new starting for this series.HOLLYWOOD LET ME WRITE THE 7th SEASON OF NIP/TUCK (but don't stole me the ideas)

And the show ended never having even so much as addressed that Julia viciously smothered that poor woman from the plane crash she believed to be her mother in Season 3.
