    The Elephant camping is awesome!
i have never driven in sand before, but i have heard so much of it. Looks like the pain in the ass till you got the hang of it.
    safe travel!
    cheers Lukas

haha it was pretty painful :D we're getting there slowly with the sand but every now and then you have a moment when you just want to quit and set the bike on fire :D The Elephant Camping was one of the best memories from Botswana - but again we were THE ONLY campers without a big 4x4 car with rooftop tent :D In the middle of the night we woke up and a huge elephant was standing 1m from us, staring at our tiny tent - let's say we didn't sleep well that night :)

Lovely!!! GREAT stuff brilliant... drove that road in August 2016 (in a 4x4) Kubu to Nata-Maun highway... IT'S BAD... took me 3.5/4 hours (and I thought that was bad :-)... should've tried crossing the right in the middle of the pans flats instead... from the pan conditions looks like you were there around June-July... maybe August (dry season)... pans are pretty hard at this time. EXCELLENT!!!

Love it! You two are nuts! 🤪 That must have been such hard work in those temperatures. The sand is basically powder, right?
Keep the videos coming, really enjoy watching them 👍🏻

Hi Ryan! nuts? nuuh ;) the sand is literally like flour, you cant even walk very well, its even got its name 'fesh fesh' :D When we got out of the salt pan and on the tarmac, it was almost dark and we felt like we were gonna pass out from the exhaustion so we said to ourselves 'we're staying tonight at the FIRST accommodation we see'. Guess what... it was 200$ a night WTH :o (lucky us) :D

Great video guys :) you should have done the 2 days trip from Old Bridges Backpackers...we were alone the whole two days and the walking safaris were just great!

Thanks! oh that's a bummer... Did you see any wildlife on those walks? We did one walking safari and it was quite cool we saw elephants and zebras but we walked for 4h in the middle of the day and with scorching heat on our necks we didn't quite enjoy it... (we're a bit lazy when it comes to hikes hehe)

@@SimpleandAway yeah we saw plenty and did the walks in the late evening and early morning. During the hot hours we were relaxing haha we are not the most enthusiastic hikers either

@@XTAdventures that's the way to do it! we have a lot to learn from you guys, glad that you're one step ahead :D Are you in SA yet? We have a a bit of a longing for SA. We're in Malawi now and apparently there's going to be a protest soon and the borders will be closed. We're a bit torn between, entering Tanzania earlier than we planned or returning back down to SA (but then we're cutting our route short as the plan was to get to Uganda)...

@@SimpleandAway ah that was just luck, we just thought that the 2 day is not much more expensive haha. Nah we wont be back till end of September and then head north around mid of November. Will you guys ship the bike back from SA? If so when? Would be great to meet up somewhere :)
